Coming across maggot-infested food as a bug lover: 😱🪱🥺🤢

(Being a janitor is great! Except for when it’s not. Listen it’s not the maggots’ fault they’re trying to help by getting rid of the rotting food. It’s the rotting food part I object to.

Thank you whatever apartment dweller does not know how to separate their trash and forced me to pick through a trash bag with maggots to pull out the recyclables bc the trash guys won’t take unsorted bags)

#ramblings #unsanitary tw #just in case #listen people don’t like maggots bc they’re found in places w carrion or rotting food #the maggots themselves are trying to resolve the problem of the rotting bits #it’s natural to be disgusted by decomposition but place blame appropriately people lol #that said if maggots squick you that’s fine. I get it. you don’t have to love them or anything #but they ARE important and honestly just doing their job #I had to see horrifically moldy mystery leftovers but I got to see bug friends #bug coworkers. who I unfortunately had to dispose of with the rest of the trash #sorry little wigglers I do like you but I also understand health and safety policies lol
