Sorry to be insane but the second I saw the closeup panel from last night, I immediately thought of the closeup panel from chapter 7, when Lem is spouting off what's needed in order to prevent Ssaelits from facing a slow and methodical culling.

There is such determination in his gaze in that panel. "But our Shadwe knows there'll be buckets spilt in the doing," he says. "He'll not lightly turn to swords."

And in last night's page, that determination is gone, his gaze hollowed out. That page would have taken place? What? A few days after Chapter 7's flashback page?

And like, yeah, there is good reason for this. Guilt and trauma and regret and more guilt. But still. God. GOD!!!
