i was tagged by @glorious-spoon thank you!! 🥰 here's 400ish words of an early-relationship kink discovery fic that i'm meanderingly working on to be posted at some vague point in the future lol

The call is routine to the point of being a little boring: a woman who passed out from a blood sugar issue after she tied her husband to the bed. They resuscitate her, cut him loose, and stop for a grocery run on the way back to the station.

Easy. A typical Tuesday. 

Honestly, a quarter of the calls they get some days are because someone got in over their head with a weird sex thing and needed to be rescued, and ninety nine times out of a hundred, Eddie never even thinks about them again. It’s just part of the job.

Except – this time.

This time, though, he can’t get it out of his head. 

Bobby’s making dinner, and Eddie feels his face heat as he watches him truss the chicken. 

Ravi’s practicing knots on a length of rappel cord, and Eddie has to go sit on the other side of the room. 

Buck’s being… Buck, bouncing off the walls and stretching everyone to the brink of their last nerve, and someone makes a joke about maybe we should just tie you up one of these days, keep you out of the way, and it’s – 

It’s not pointed. It’s not Diaz, come get your boy, but that’s what he hears anyway, and he has to excuse himself, close the door behind him and hope no one tries to follow. 

It’s kind of a dick move, getting off in the bunks like this. It’s a shared space, and they all try not to do it. They all try not to notice when someone does do it, but – he can’t help it. 

The idea of that, of tying Buck up like a roast chicken, patterns of rope interlocking on his skin, the strain in his muscles and the way he’d go soft and hazy, maybe, eyes unfocused like he did that one time they were fucking long and slow in the limbo hours of a Saturday morning when Chris might have been asleep or might have been up looking for breakfast, and Buck wouldn’t shut up, and Eddie had pressed a hand over his mouth, caught both his wrists in the other and held them up over his head. He’d gone slack and easy, pliant in a way Eddie’s never seen him before, and he’d let out this breathy little sound against Eddie’s palm, and – and –
