#btw re tags: i'll be using “a knight of the seven kingdoms” as a tag for the book illustrated by gary gianni and “akotsk” for the show

With the Dunk and Egg teaser out wanted to ask: what's your favourite of the three novellas?
I often say I'm fondest of The Sworn Sword, because I really like Rohanne Webber and her relationship with Dunk, but to be honest I really love all the novellas so so much for so many reasons. I was just rereading the TMK graphic novel last night, for example, and oh my god Bloodraven is just so... he's just so... ugh I love him. And THK is so sweet, such a lovely intro to the characters and to the world of Westeros in a time of peace and everything. I'm sorry, you can't make me choose. 😅
another Anonymous asked:
Thing you're most excited to see in the dunk and egg show !!
Going with THK only, because that's the first season (and I'd rather see how they do with that one before getting hopes up for more from the later novellas/seasons)* -- and discounting the fact that I am truly excited to see everything and everybody especially Dunk and Egg themselves -- I think I'm most interested to see Daeron, I love him so much, the poor schlub. I hope they can put aside a good amount of budget to depict his dragon dream, especially since bits could appear in the AKOTSK trailer and help sell the show to newbies who've come to expect dragons in their ASOIAF adaptations lol sigh.
*I do have some ideas about the AKOTSK women problem (namely that there's only one female character with a speaking role in each of the first two Dunk & Egg novellas, and none in the third), particularly in re the character of Glendon Ball, but I haven't thought it through fully enough to write it up yet. I'll get back to you all later.
