Do we all agree that Marty's interest became full on lust when he saw Crash in action? It's the most alive he's ever seen rust, he's lit up like Christmas with a manic shine in his eye and throwing brutal punches if ginger even looks at him wrong—thats probably when the guy whose orientation is best described as "batshitsexual" got a new spank bank deposit
see, to me he was always attracted to rusty. he saw little miss cunt stroll into the building and hasn't looked back since. now, i think marty is endlessly fucking repressed, in '95 for sure, '02 also (2012 is a whole ass different story). so, was he, at any point before the break up Aware of that attraction. i think he was. i think it hit him somewhere around the grass incident. probably because he realized he wasn't only jealous about his wife spending time with his partner, but also his Partner spending time with his Wife. he didn't accept it then, though.
i think crash freaked marty out. rust is always so controlled and collected in '95, so him going off the rails like that leaves marty shaken. you can see it in the way he looks at him when rusty tells him about his undercover work, or in the getaway car. i think marty's more concerned than aroused (but they're not mutually exclusive).
imo the moment marty truly accepts how he feels about rust is in 2012, about the time when rust asks marty how he's been. by that point he's divorced, and has had a decade to marinate in his own repression. he's firmly middle aged, and too tired to deny it, even to himself.
that's just my take, but i'd love to discuss this further! please do tell me more about your read on this situation

bisexualactivity replied to your post “also kind of racist how they turned hazel and cha-cha's friendship...”
im putting @bisexualactivity‘s response in the readmore, but heres what i have to say:
these are some good points, its all mainly on the original writing, but i still think it could have been handled differently. my main number one thing was what happen to hazel and cha cha and just how extreme their character changes were. also could you clarify on comic klaus being a sexual predator? (if im reading that correctly).
honestly i think allison was one of the only good choices because she’s one of the only non-white characters who 1. doesn’t die or 2. isn’t stereotypically criminal. i think the pitfalls of the original writing are to blame for not introducing any actually good representation because what we have now are the least terrible candidates to be changed into POC. so diego is a better choice than luther or klaus to no longer be white because he’s not a sexual predator like comic!klaus, and he’s not dehumanised literally because luther is part fuckin monkey. Allison was a better choice than vanya because in the end vanya is brutalised the most and literally turns Blue Eyes White Dragon. it was horrible to see alice experience such violence but i’m glad, as her actress is one of the sole non-white characters, that she wasnt being abused and manipulated by the villain of the piece. I don’t know actually if i’d have preferred it the other way around but with this writing team i dont have faith they would have handled that characterisation any better. although it does leave a lot to be desired that they literally stole a black woman’s voice. Benjamin is the truly awful part like I kind of wish if they would change enough about him to be like.. almost always present in Klaus’ life then why not just ignore the comic and bring him back to life? they could have added another hargreeves to the roster so theres still a death in the family but it didnt have to be him... sorry if this is  incoherent and rambling its 2:17 am which is past my bedtime. sorry if i made any stupid comments, i didnt mean to dismiss any of your concerns. also im not the anon btw
