It's actually not a very interesting story but sure haha

I was walking across the street in the middle of the day (through a crosswalk, with a walk sign) and a woman hit me with her car at like 10 mph or something while turning right on red because she was on her phone while driving. I flew a few feet backwards (like I went projectile, which was an insane feeling) and caught myself on my wrist. The driver got out and apologized and called the cops because neither of us knew what to do (and I told her I hope they arrest her which was uncalled for! 😭 but I wasn't thinking straight). The cops came and got a statement, then called an ambulance so I could get my wrist x-rayed.

After this whole thing, I had like $4,000 in outstanding medical bills (x-rays + the ambulance + the shots and tests they gave me at the hospital added up), and I A) couldn't afford it and B) didn't think I should have to foot the bill, so I hired a personal injury lawyer and they took over the whole process and have been handling it for months and I feel bad because it seems like this is creating financial hardship for her and she has a baby
