LMFAOOOO this entire thing reminds me of when I thought Balinor was black 😭😭

Like for the longest time (bc I watched merlin once years ago and then got back into the fandom around 2020 and rewatched the show) I thought Balinor was a dark skinned black man with locs and decorated in gold but on a rewatch I was utterly APPALLED that he was a greasy white man.

Then I started to think about it and like…that would’ve made Merlin mixed?? And I just??? Never questioned it???? I just thought Merlin was our light skinned mixed king 😔✊

Anyways. I smell jealous Arthur in this one.

The day Arthur decided to invite Mithian to Camelot is a dark one. Gwen had betrayed him and Arthur had - in an outburst of emotion- banned her from Camelot. A fact he feels very guilty about.

The thing was, Arthur didn't even know why this made him so upset. Not Gwen, perhaps not even Mithian herself, no.... Merlin. Merlin was the problem.

Merlin liked her.

Merlin was not supposed to like her. Merlin was supposed to be angry and defend Gwen and oppose this marriage, but he didn't. He liked Mithian. And because Merlin liked Mithian, Arthur hated her.

Mithian: Could it be that maybe... This isn't about us?

Arthur: I'm not entirely over Gwen yet, but -

Mithian: no. This has nothing to do with her. It's about Merlin, isn't it? I can tell. You like him. And you don't like that he likes me.

Arthur: I don't like Merlin

Mithian: now that's the stupidest lie I've ever heard. You feel guilty because you like him and yet you cast Gwen away because she liked another.

Arthur: that's not what this is!!!

Mithian: oh please. You may be able to fool Merlin and yourself as well, but you cannot fool me.
