back to the future but they're all monsters, because i'm predictable:

marty passes as human but he's a banshee, able to channel his voice/guitar into a magical blast (or just a really powerful performance)

doc is the sandman, putting people to sleep and observing their dreams. his inventions take inspiration from the dreams he watches.

lorraine is a selkie. her natural form is that of a seal but she much prefers her more human-like form. her sealskin is magically disguised as a cardigan.

(she tries her best to subtly let marty "take" her sealskin and he freaks out every time. biff tries to snatch it every chance he gets because he can smell the magic on it. at the dance, george questions whether she's too warm in her cardigan and she immediately hands it over.)

george is a changeling, deposited at his parents' doorstep when he was a baby. he doesn't know why he was abandoned. every famous changeling tells tales about being switched with a human child for an ulterior motive, but george doesn't know his purpose.

goldie is a sphinx. he used to "protect" the diner (mostly just cleaned it, because lou didn't really care who was served there) but was elected mayor and proudly protects the clocktower.

jennifer is half-mermaid— she looks fairly human, but she can breathe underwater and has a naturally talented singing voice.

biff is a werewolf. he has the unique ability to half-transform even when the moon isn't full, which allows him to intimidate his classmates. he's threatened his victims many times to watch out, or he'll go after them the next full moon— his grandma doesn't care about protective measures and lets him roam free.

3-D is a basilisk, turning anyone who looks at his eyes to stone for a day. he wears his glasses to prevent this from happening, and tries his best to hide the fact that he's a monster at all.

slick is a sigbin, who can suck blood from someone's shadow and turn invisible. he only takes small amounts at a time, often going invisible to drink from multiple people while biff and 3-D distract them.

*takes a deep breath* Okay. I shall provide you with the basic information. This will take forever but I AM READY (just transferred a bunch of screenshots from my Switch to my phone to give visuals lmao)

Under the cut because this includes massive spoilers for Miitopia

Marty is the hero of our game, just a regular guy from a place called Greenhorne. He came to Greenhorne town only to find it attacked by the so called Dark Lord (who I made Edna in this game). Edna steals the faces off Miis and plants them on monsters so they gain power and fight Marty. Marty agrees to go on a quest to find and defeat the Dark Lord. So far, so good.

On the quest, he meets other Miis willing to help him. Those are Jennifer, Paul (from the Pinheads) and Linda. They fight and stuff (and rescue King Sam and Princess Lorraine as well as help Lorraine convince her dad to marry her childhood friend George instead of the prince Biff that Sam wants her to marry. Guys those roles were PERFECT for them I swear. George was spineless in this game and had the perfect color scheme, and Biff ws absolutely useless. 10/10 casting from my part), but as soon as they get to the next kingdom, the Dark Lord straight up kidnaps Marty's friends and he's all alone again :(

I said Marty was left alone? Well, not completely. He's not alone in spirit - because in Greenhorne, he has had an encounter with the Great Sage Doc, who has saved his life with his magic (you can see where this is going). Marty meets him again in Neksdor, as well as his new party members - Dave, young Emmett, and 1986B Jennifer (I was legit running out of BTTF characters because I had a lot of the townspeople be characters like Seamus and Maggie. And Clara is my horse. She's a purple unicorn. Oh and my quizmaster is Bill Nye which, also, is 10/10 casting. I am proud of myself)

In this new desert land called Neksdor (pun of "next door"), Marty and team fight a pharaoh before having to move on to the next kingdom. Oh and unhinged versions of my OCs because, again, I was running out of BTTF characters. I even gave Western Union Guy and Terry the car mechanic roles.

Next up, we had to go through the Realm Of The Fey, a fairy/elf kindgom. Once again, Edna kidnapped all my friends so I had to cast my OCs as new party members.

I cast server friends as the Fab Fairies because I SWEAr Bobby G doesn't have enough female characters in this franchise.

@bg-sparrow was the eldest Fab Fairy and I had to fight her as an owl. I'm so sorry BG lmao

After finishing off this kingdom, Marty got to head to Krakaton, where the Dark Lord hides out. His friends are once again kidnapped, and - much worse - Edna stole their faces, too!!

Marty discovers his friends with no faces and is absolutely devastated.

Enter the Great Sage.

The best part began: Doc joined Marty's team! Yay! Together, they went to rescue Marty's friends and had some endearing moments along the way :)

Look at them. They're buddies. I love them.

In the end of this mission, they manage to rescue all of Marty's friends and Doc leaves again. And now, we are approaching the final battle against the Dark Lord in Edna's castle retreat.

That battle was surprisingly easy and BOOM, Marty wins!! Congrats!

But the game is far from over. It turns out that Edns was in fact possessed by the so called Dark Curse, and now the Curse is looking for a new body. Naturally, it attacks Marty, being angry with him for defeating the Dark Lord.

And then Doc appears and saves Marty once again.

Sacrificing himself in the process.

Yep - Doc is a villain now. And he's even more powerful than ever before, due to his Great Sage powers. This is heavy, am I right?

Marty is absolutely heartbroken :( But Jennifer hypes him up jsgfdjhs

Now, Marty, his team and this kind dragon named Dominic have to chase Darker Lord Doc and defeat him to free the Great Sage

After Marty had to do a bunch of side quests collecting jewels that open the entrance to Doc's hideout, the Sky Scraper...

(I clicked No. Marty, being the selfless guy he is, did not think about himself afer a moment of consideration. It's funny, Marty never refers to the Darker Lord and Doc as the same person. It's so wholesome)

And now, here we are. I'm on my way to the final FINAL boss of this game, but this plot is absolutely destroying me. This Mii RPG game has no right to be this angsty like. Why.

this was one of the last merlin fics i wrote n its a very stupid and silly and fluffy gangbang. really enjoyed writing the 'everyone lives happily ever after' AU on this one. very fun :)

Or, the Justice League accidentally inducts a child and then deals with the fall-out.

the discord had an idea about a bttf zombie au and so, naturally, i wrote a bunch of shit for it :)

basically there’s a zombie outbreak and right at the beginning (before anyone knows what’s happening) marty gets bit :)

as soon as marty realizes what’s going on he runs away with out telling anybody as to not worry them. marty is now missing at the beginning of the outbreak and everyone (family, doc, +jenn) are freaking the fuck out and pretty much assume that hes dead (they can’t bring themselves to think of him being a zombie). the outbreak is getting worse and everyone is pretty much told to try to stay indoors and destroy any zombies they can. doc is outside of his garage one day (for some reason) when he hears a zombie from the woods (aw man /ref) he takes out a gun or smthn, ready to kill it but recognizes that it is in fact marty! uh oh! he is devistated and cant do anything more than watch as marty slowly comes closer. marty starts attacking (like zombies do) and doc is reminded that that is not his friend, but he still can’t bring himself to kill it. hes able to hold it off and lock the zombie up somewhere in his lab. he starts to try and find a cure.

at some point jennifer visits doc in the garage (maybe they bonded after the outbreak started) sees marty, and completely breaks down. doc helps her calm down and explains what hes trying to do, she decides to help him.

it takes a long time. by now the outbreak is under control. most towns have fences and guards and stuff to keep the zombies out. but they finished the cure. they give it to him and he passes out, jenn and doc take him out and puts him on the cott and just, watch him till he wakes up (with weapons of course, in case it didn’t work).

hours later he wakes up and is,,, confused. he doesn’t fully remember what happened yet and doesnt know he was (is) a zombie hahahaa. doc and jenn are both full on sobbing (cause they got him back) and martys freaking out and they’re eventually able to all calm down and explain everything

martys pretty much houselocked cause there’s no way he can go outside with the way he now looks. they decide that they can’t tell his family that hes ok because they’ve come to terms with him being dead and telling them that he was a zombie but is ok now would just be too much.

uh marty is like,, full on existential crisis about being dead but not? for awhile he considers himself a monster before doc and jenn are able to talk to him and help him

1. tv show character you like the best, and the one you relate to the most? (can be the same character, no judgement!)

Um -- this is difficult to answer since the only TV show I’m watching regularly right now is Whose Line Is It Anyway? Oh, and MST3K, but that feels more like a weekly movie. XD I can safely say Colin Mochrie is my favorite performer on Whose Line? -- the man is a marvel, especially when paired with Ryan Stiles. As for relating. . .all those audience members and guest stars who have no idea what they’re getting into when asked to perform with the gang. XD I’d probably freeze up too if I had go up there!

2. is there a song you feel compelled to listen to on repeat whenever it comes on at the moment? if so, which one?

Not particularly, though this has happened a lot in the past. The closest so far is the boss theme for the first “Adam” boss fight in Nier: Automata (you know, the “this cannot continue” song).

3. night owl or early bird?

NIGHT OWL. I am very good at staying up later than I should and I hate waking up early.

4. what are you favourite types of fanfic to read? fluff, angst, 5+1, soulmate aus? go nuts!

It can depend on my mood -- I’ll gravitate more toward angst if I’m gloomy myself -- but I actually like more fluffy, slice-of-lifey, domestic stuff, honestly. Or fics where someone gets magic or super-powers and has to learn how to use them. And I’m kind of a sucker for hurt/comfort-style stuff -- I just love a character who’s been whumped getting to cuddle with a loved one. (Not obvious from my own fanfic at all, right?)

5. what’s your fave soundtrack (musical, tv show, movie, video game etc)?

Well, my three main fandoms -- BTTF, Corpse Bride, and the Alice games -- all have great music associated with them. I think I’m going to have to go with Alice: Madness Returns for favorite, though, as it has some of my absolute favorite music on it (”Card Castles In The Sky” is GORGEOUS). I’ve been listening to CB’s soundtrack as “going to sleep” music for a while now, though.

6. last item of clothing you bought for yourself? was it something you wanted or something you needed? or both?

Er -- do shoes count? I needed a good pair of “transitional” shoes since spring this year has consisted of a lot of days where you can wear some lighter pants and such, but it’s too cold for sandals. Took a while, but I finally found a pair that work. (Nautica brand -- the soles have ship rope patterns :D)

7. what do you do on nights when you can’t sleep?

Mostly lie there and make up little Valicey fanfics in my head. If I can’t sleep because of nightmares, though, I’ll turn on a light and read something. Weirdly enough, I tend to gravitate towards my Terminator 2 making-of/script book during these moments. I dunno why.

8. do you have a film or album that makes you feel warm and safe and like you’ve come home after a really long day? which one?

*thinks about this* I’m gonna have to go with Enchanted -- it’s my favorite Disney movie, and it still gives me the warm fuzzies when I watch it. :)

9. do you hate spoilers or lap them up?

Depends on how big the spoiler is, and if I’m going to be consuming the media in question. I can still enjoy a work after being spoiled, but I like to avoid the big plot twists in stuff I’m going to be looking at myself. (Although, honestly, even knowing those without context can make me look forward to something -- I’m spoiled to hell and back about some of the stuff in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, and I still really want to watch it to see how all these pieces fit together.)

10. do you have something (a movie, book, fanfic, anything really) that makes you feel really inspired? does it motivate you to create, or clean, or just keep on living?

You’ve seen my problem with AUs -- I have TOO MUCH that inspires me. XD A little more seriously, the pairing this blog is named after is my favorite inspiration. If I’m having a sad or frustrating day, I can make myself feel a lot better by looking at old fanarts, or rereading favorite bits from old stories. And, again, look at the AU thing. It’s really nice, having an OTP (and, sometimes an OT4 or more) that makes me this happy.

11. favourite cryptid/monster/eldritch horror?

Am I allowed to say Mantorok from Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem? I love his design, I love that he can exist in multiple timelines, I love that he’s an eldritch horror that may in fact be on humanity’s side. It’s not a sure thing, but just the idea -- it’s a cool flip of the usual “we are trapped in an uncaring universe with uncaring creatures on all sides.” I also love the bosses from Bloodborne, because FUCK they look cool. (Gotta rewatch some of that...)

Things You Need To Know About: Born From Thorn

Premise: He was engaged to be married, and his home town is Burtonsville. That’s about all Victor can remember of his life before Arcadia, and it wasn’t enough to lead him out of the Thorns. Luckily for him, he stumbled across three people able to help him back to reality – Alice Liddell, who helped keep him safe in the Hedge, and Marty McFly and Emmett Brown, who brought the both of them back home. Unluckily, when he and Alice emerged back into the mortal lands, it was over a century since they’d been taken. Victor’s not at all sure how he’s going to adjust, but at least he doesn’t have to do it alone…

This AU is a crossover betwen Corpse Bride, the Alice games, Back To The Future, and the New World of Darkness -- specifically, the "Changeling: The Lost" line. This one asks the question, "What if Victor, Alice, Marty, Jennifer, and Doc -- specifically the teenage version of him seen in BTTF: The Game -- all ended up changelings, and ended up coming together as a Motley after escaping?" It's a Modern AU, but Victor's part of the story starts back in 1875 -- right after the wreck of a rehearsal, in fact. Victor, embarrassed that he just can't remember his vows and that he accidentally set Lady Everglot's dress on fire, flees to the woods for a little private practice. After a few false starts, he finally gets his confidence up and recites his vows perfectly, placing the ring onto a hand-shaped branch sticking out from beneath a tree.

Said hand-shaped branch is actually a skeletal hand belonging to a trapped Changeling named Emily -- and sticking out through the Hedge, the border between Arcadia, land of the Fae, and Earth. Victor is dragged through the Thorns and into the Land of the Dead, the domain of the Faerie The Kindly Reaper. Victor, terrified, runs from the Reaper after he first sees her, inadvertently consigning himself to a dangerous game of "hide and seek" as a result. For the next 100 mortal years or so, he's forced to hide in the shadows of the realm, seeking refuge in open graves and forgotten coffins, surviving off moldering flesh and maggots and the scraps of food dropped by those who chose to party eternally in the light, and dreading the "forfeits" he'd have to pay should The Kindly Reaper find him. (His one attempt at joining the party, encouraged by some friendly Changelings, is cut short when she slashes his back open with her scythe.) It's not long until he's pretty much forgotten his old mortal life -- the only reason he even remembers his name was because he has his wallet with his calling cards in it.

And then, one day, Emily finds him again. Eaten up by guilt at being forced to be one of the Reaper's regular "traps" for new prey, she decides that she's going to do something to balance the books and leads Victor back to the edge of the Hedge, encouraging him to run. Looking at the Thorns reminds Victor a little of what he left behind, including Victoria, and -- after briefly pleading with Emily to come with him, an offer she refuses on the basis she'll die if she touches mortal soil again (her body is dangerously rotted and she doesn't trust Fae magic, even her own, to keep her whole) -- he takes off, hoping to find a path back home.

Unfortunately, it's been much too long for him to find his way back on his own, and he soon becomes lost in the Hedge. Holing up in a safe hollow for a good cry, he's discovered by another fleeing Changeling -- Alice Liddell, having recently escaped the cruel Dollmaker. She offers her aid to him, and together the pair comb the ever-changing paths in the Hedge, looking for one that leads back to Earth. All their efforts are in vain --

Until they encounter a group of three other Changelings, apparently on their way to London. The apparent leader calls them "privateers" and is all for leaving them behind, but the other two -- Marty McFly and Emmett Brown -- refuse to do so, to the point where Marty knocks the "leader" unconscious and just carries her the rest of the way. Alice and Victor are only too happy to join them, and they all emerge back into the mortal world in a gateway near the base of Big Ben's clocktower.

Which now has a holographic billboard nearby, and cars flying above it. The stunned Victor and Alice are informed that the current year is now 2015, and that they've been gone for 140 years. ("Yeah, it was a shock to us too -- I'm from 1983, and he's from 1931.") With nowhere really familiar for them to go, they stick with Marty and Emmett as they reunite with Marty's Changeling girlfriend Jennifer, and agree to Jennifer's suggestion that they all become a Motley. Though how he's ever going to adjust to all this almost magical technology and weird new fashions and -- well, everything -- Victor doesn't have a clue. He's just glad he's not alone.

This verse has no sub-categories -- threads can be set anytime without any major changes of location or cast.

Shipping: Victor/Alice -- Victoria's long-dead, after all, and Emily is still trapped in Arcadia and would die within seconds if she left. (Though, in a weird way, Victor/Victoria was a thing in the past, if you count Victor's fetch...) Victor has a lot of feelings for the woman who helped save him, and Alice, while she can be rather iffy about romance thanks to her captor, finds she quite likes having someone so sweet and gentle around.

Yes, TV Tropes -- they have an excellent write-up on the Seemings and Kiths, what can I say? Ignore anything about "Second Edition," though -- I'm working off my own set of books (with additions I've found online here and there), which are first edition.

When Victor was captured, his Keeper The Kindly Reaper went back and left a "fetch" -- a magical copy of a person, made from random debris (in this case, birch tree wood and old bones held together with string) and a chunk of the Changeling's shadow -- in the woods to take his place. This Victor stumbled back to the village thinking he was the real thing and had merely gotten badly lost. He married Victoria and lived a quiet but happy life with her -- though he could never figure out why his trip into the woods seemed to coincide with the loss of his artistic talent. . . (Fetches are often "missing" a bit from the original, you see. Victor and his fetch should actually count themselves fortunate, as a good chunk of the time, the missing bit is "ethics" and/or "empathy for other human beings.")

Victor's seeming is Darkling, and his kith is Gravewight. Thanks to his time in the Land of the Dead, he's become very attuned to death and spirits, to the point of being able to see and speak to ghosts if he concentrates. He can also help a spirit communicate with others by magically allowing them to affect one sense of everyone around him, and even help a ghost physically manifest for a short while. The requirement that he remain hidden from The Kindly Reaper made him sneaky enough that he was able to change his footprints into a trail of butterfly wings instead (which were easier to scatter and form false trails out of). He also has the ability to bring fruit to full harvest, essentially "hastening" their death. Kind of desperate to have some sort of ability that reflected life instead, he managed to pick up a simple healing spell that cures bruises, fatigue, and deprivation such as hunger or thirst, at least for a while. His Changeling mein looks like -- well, the puppet from the movie. The "human" Victor has some more flesh on his bones, and eyes with actual irises.

Alice was taken to Arcadia by Dr. Bumby, who in this version of reality was actually a Fae called The Dollmaker. Houndsditch was actually a front for him abducting children to turn into dolls in his lands, accessed through a secret gate in his office (under his desk, in fact). He sold the ones he found "unworthy" on the black market. He initially wanted to take Lizzie to his realm to be his "bride" (as far as Fae understand the concept), but he decided to indulge himself sex-wise first and accidentally killed her. Setting the fire was basically a temper tantrum he threw over breaking his doll prematurely. Alice, getting an inkling of what he was doing in the mortal realm, confronted him in the train station -- but when she tried to shove him onto the tracks, he managed to open up a gate and instead drag her into his world. Recognizing her natural dream-walking abilities, he attempted to make her his "herald" of a sort, sending her into people's dreams and nightmares to infect them with his presence -- in between attempting to make her his "perfect doll," of course. Alice, furious, defied him at every turn, warning those people she was sent to infect and even battling their monsters for them if they were in a nightmare. She also honed her skills against Bumby's own monsters -- and when the time was right, she managed to break free and run back into the Hedge, where she wandered for a while before encountering Victor, and later Doc and Marty. Thanks to the curious juxtaposition of what her Keeper tried to make her and what she actually DID in Arcadia, she's a rare case of a "mixed kith" -- her Seeming is Fairest, but her Kith is Bloodbrute, which comes from the Ogres. She's a little shaky in her Clarity/sanity, but she's able to be incredibly intimidating and turn most anything she can pick up into a weapon. She's also extremely skilled at entering and manipulating dreams. Her Changeling mein looks like her Hysteria mode. She has no fetch because Bumby didn't want to bother with one after he got her into his realm -- most people assumed she just eloped with him. (You can imagine her mood when she learns this tidbit.)

Emmett Brown was taken right after his famous (or possibly infamous) demo of a flying car at the Hill Valley Expo in 1931. His Keeper, Master of Machines, was attending, and came up to him while he was recovering and musing outside about how to fix his design, telling him his ingenuity would be perfect for his laboratory – did he want a job? Poor Emmett didn’t even think twice before saying yes, and was promptly dragged off to Arcadia and put to work. His durance was all about building things at his Keeper’s whims, and occasionally for other Fae who had contracted with said Keeper for an object. Some of the machines were useful, others not so much, and still others incomprehensible. Emmett became more and more reclusive as time went on, certain he was going to spend the rest of his life at the workbench – but then, somebody from his hometown showed up asking for a microphone. The two became fast friends, and -- once both their Keepers' backs were turned -- they bolted for freedom through the Hedge, eventually crashing through the doors of the Hill Valley Courthouse Mall. His seeming is Wizened, and his kith is Inventor -- he's beyond skilled at anything relating to machines, to the point of being able to repair them with random junk in his pockets or break them with a touch. His Changeling mein reflects the mechanics he's grown so close to -- electricity seems to crackle in hair that resembles wires, his irises resemble small dark gears, and his hands are permanently stained with grease. He also always looks like he's hunching over, even when he stands up straight. His Fetch returned a day after his disappearance and quit science to take up the family law business – knowing full well what he was and lacking any moral center. He was a celebrated lawyer for a while, but in his later years, the fact that he was willing to lie, bully witnesses, and fake evidence came to the fore, and he died in infamy. (Worse yet, his father KNEW that what came back wasn’t his son – and got committed by the Fetch for saying so.)

Marty McFly was taken around the time of his fifteenth birthday -- he was bumming around in the park, noodling on his guitar, when the Fae Concerto appeared. He told Marty that he’d overheard him practicing, thought he had real talent, and if he just came with him to his new venue, he’d play a sold-out show before the week ended. Marty jumped at the chance to take the fast track to fame and fortune, and off he went. His durance was the rock star lifestyle taken to extremes: pampering and pleasuring off-stage, all his whims fulfilled. . .but when he was expected to play – well, only his Keeper’s word or total collapse would stop the music. He requested a microphone out of desperation to save his throat after one particularly long "concert," and was rather surprised when Concerto agreed – and even more surprised when he made a friend out of the inventor contracted to make it. Talking about Hill Valley with him convinced them both to just run for it one day, taking on the Hedge together. His seeming is Fairest, and his kith is Minstrel -- he's a consummate performer, and really good at harvesting emotions from his audiences. His Changeling mein looks like a "perfected" version of his human self -- his hair is silkier and gleams gorgeously, his eyes are the clearest sparkling blue, and his face looks like it was never touched by acne in his whole life. His Fetch came home from the park as normal that day, but with a love of CLASSICAL music instead of rock. While not possessing quite the same talents as Marty, he parlayed what he had into a pretty successful career. He doesn't realize he's a Fetch until Marty comes back -- and as Marty is only 17 while the Fetch is about 47, the two quickly decide there's no point in Marty trying to "take back" his life.

Jennifer Parker was taken not long after Marty -- though rather than her Keeper luring her into Arcadia, she accidentally stumbled into the Hedge herself. She was absolutely baffled when her rock-loving boyfriend suddenly switched to being nuts about classical music, and discovered a gateway into the Hedge trying to get to the bottom of things. She was attempting to find a way back out when she was swooped up by The Keeper of Secrets, to work as a spy in her dark lands. Her durance consisted of long periods of nightmarish sleep interspersed with creeping around other Fae’s domains and reporting back on whatever she learned. She always hoped to stumble upon where Marty was being kept, but unfortunately Concerto’s domain wasn’t one of the ones she was sent to. Eventually, she was able to use one of her jobs to slip back into the Hedge and break free, creating the gate through the Courthouse Mall front doors that Marty and Emmett would use later. Her Seeming is Darkling, and her kith Whisperwisp – she got quite good at eavesdropping and can still gather info like a pro. Not to mention she also picked up the ability to whisper secrets to someone from across the room. . . Her Changeling mein makes her resemble something of a living shadow, with dark skin that looks foggy and whispy at the edges. Her Fetch emerged from the Hedge ready to cheer on her classical-loving boyfriend, and the two ended up quite happily married. She knew that she wasn't the original Jennifer, but never wanted to tell Marty for fear of hurting him. Much like with Marty, when the original came back, she panicked briefly, then realized the newly-freed teenager had little chance of taking over her life. She actually lent Jennifer the money to get to England so the Changeling could try and make a fresh start.

While this is obstinately a "modern" AU, the presence of the BTTF characters and their hometown means it's "modern" by BTTF standards. So while I'm keeping such things as the Internet and smart phones from our world, this 2015 also has the famous Hill Valley flying cars, hoverboards, and holographic movies, among other things. You may all be jealous now.

More Monster High stuff because I’m procrastinating! 

These are just some goofy Back to the Future themed drawings/screenshot redraws because theres one character named Venus McFlytrap and I just kinda rolled with that idea. 

My redesign of her is much more Marty McFly than her original design. The other character is Robecca Steam, but I didn’t really change her up that much.

I just like making BTTF AUs I guess! I’m a sucker for fun time travel stories!
