Low key so embarrassed at times to be a Pakistani when it comes to fandoms. I — for better or for worse — have been in several different fandoms that span the world, yo. MCU, Harry Potter, K dramas, J dramas, K-pop, Turkish dramas, Bridgerton, anime… literally everything.
I have never seen this mentality of fans trying to dictate who an actor can or cannot work with, and I thought I had seen pretty much everything. I mean when youre as big of a BTS fan as me, you legit think you’ve seen it all when it comes to toxicity, but once again pakistan unpleasantly surprises me.
Plus, with pretty much zero exception to this rule, it is always the female in the situation who is blamed for working with an actor which is their job, regardless of if the female is part of the hit pairing or the kebab mein haddi. The Maya and wahaj thing is recent, but it was the exact same with sajal and Ahad. Fawad and Mahira. Ayeza and Imran Abbas for a while. To some extent, mawra and Ameer Gillani, and the two leads from fairy tale whose names i can’t ever remember.
Where does this come from in pakistan? What is it about our culture that makes people think this is acceptable? Can you tell me if you’ve seen it anywhere else aside from Pakistanis? I legit don’t even see Indian/hardcore Bollywood fans say this type of stuff about their faves. A part of me is wondering if it’s the same subset of people who think telling an actor their clothing is acceptable or not is saying these things and that’s where the entitlement comes from, but I don’t want to falsely accuse the deen of something if there’s another cause.
ps you should check out “the glory” K drama on Netflix. I think you’d like it.
one word: misogyny.
it's a misogynist society and a frustrated society. there's no welfare for the people. economy is shit. the political state of the country is shit. there's literally no security of future here. things get progressively worse and worse for the people who are living here on monthly wages, God only knows how the people surviving on daily wages are faring. no one is having it "good" here except for a very very VERY select few. and there's no way of showing that frustration for many people. social media gives people an anonymity to channel their frustrations in different ways. kisi deewar pe toh sar phodna hi hai.
btw, I disagree that Pakistani fandoms are so worse of the lot. this story is the same everywhere. the only reason why it looks bigger here is because compared to other fandoms, by quantity, Pakistani fandom is smaller. it's like a small town where everyone knows everyone. there's no escaping the trash at the side of the road cuz everyone is using the same road to travel. while other fandoms like kpop for instances can still allow fans the make their own safe circles away from the negativity and still manage to enjoy the feel of a large community. itna toh main likh ke de sakti hoon that by no comparison is Pakistani fandom worse than the stuff kpop fans, specifically armies, pull out. it's all about where you are getting your news from.
twitter is just ONE of the platforms where fandoms exist. before the monopoly of social media came into place, we had multiple platforms which housed fandoms. idk if you have interacted with fandoms at different places. for me, the tumblr fandom culture largely shaped how i interact with the media (a mix of meta analysis+edits). the twitter side of fandom interacts with media different. Indiaforums had a very different way of interacting with media. soompi and dramabeans were where I went for kdrama side of fandom. we also have reddit which is a completely different beast. and these are just English speaking platforms. the local Korean/Chinese/Japanese platforms which remain the biggest and most influential communities for the East Asian media content have a culture that outsiders simply cannot understand no matter how good the translating account is.
so yeah, yes Pakistani fandoms have problem. but which fandom doesn't? the general rule of "mute and block and be vigilant in maintaining a timeline that caters to only your interest!" applies here as well as to every fandom ever. ignore the shit takes and the negativity the best you can; they only exist to sour your personal good time here.
(i LOVEEEEEEEEEE The Glory. i showed my love for it decently enough on twt back when both the parts dropped)

Tulip
There were tears sliding down the edge of my face. My lips had blood specks, so did the corner of my mouth. I could feel the saliva mixed with blood drip down the fingers on wash basin. I looked up in the mirror, breakdowns make me look cute. But right now I might die and that was more important. I turned on the faucet to wash off my hands and clean the marble basin. Sangmarmar.
As i wiped the blood off, I could feel the fit coming again. I hunch over the basin only to cough more and more and more and-
My throat burned, my hands ached, my chest was ripping and my lungs felt stuffed. My legs struggled to keep me up as I kept trying to cough it out. And soon the gave out as I fell down on the white floor, grabbing my throat. I spit blood, and then some small pieces that I couldn't figure out through my tears. Then finally, there it was. A bud of tulip.
Venus
He likes Taylor swift, Zayn malik, BTS, Valorant, anime, space aesthetics, tulips, white roses, chess, boxing, black color, cats, going out with friends. He hates bollywood, and maybe that should have been the first red flag.
Roses
"It's stage four, you know what it means right?" of course i knew. The cost of surgery is going to be fucking expensive. All because of a stupid crush. "Maybe you should tell them, it can save-" "they know" that's all I could muster up with my scratchy throat. One more word and maybe I will cough up a rose in full bloom. I grabbed the doctor's pad, scribbling my question down- What happens after the surgery?
"So this can be cured by two ways as you know- either they share the same feeling, or you get surgery" doctor said. He knew what happens after this. "Since you are getting surgery, it has two outcomes. First, you can't feel the emotion of falling in love anymore. If not that, then you forget everything you had with that person" the doctor took off his specs.
I payed the amount needed for surgery.
Coffee
He liked me as a person. He hated me as a feeling. He wanted me as a friend. He hated me as anything more than that. He accepted my romantic feelings. He only maintained platonic feelings for me. He took all I gave. And that was him giving.
Stars
I wish love wasn't so tragic, so poetic. I started calling myself saturn because I called him venus. I couldn't love anymore ever since that august, I haven't written a poem since the 20s I have written for him. I haven't felt the same ever since. I wish i would catch him on the side of the river shore one day. I don't want to see him. I don't know who is it.
A little piece on my fave fictional disease and a man I still mourn over. tagging- @stanleykubricks @chaanv @dumdaradumdaradum @bromance-minus-the-b @iam-siriuslysher-lokid @shreyalokesh @nyotamalfoy

Ten Songs Tag
thanks @mypeculiarparadox for tagging me!
Rules: you can usually tell a lot about a person by the type of music they listen to. Put your music on shuffle and list the first ten songs, then tag ten people. No skipping!
1. The Wakhra Song - by Navv Inder, Lisa Mishra, Raja Kumari (oh my gosH lmao i never actually listen to this it was just in the list of potential songs for a Bollywood dance team bc i’m a choreography lead)
2. Smoke Clears - by Andy Grammer
3. Unlucky - Kan Wakan (I have no memory of adding this song to my library. sometimes my dad’s playlists and mine get mixed because we have a family Apple music subscription. but I kind of like it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
4. Monster - by EXO
5. Magic - Sia
6. Me Too - Meghan Trainor
7. Awake - Tycho
8. The Man - Taylor Swift
9. Breathe Me - Jasmine Thompson
10. Keeping a Secret - Bleachers
oh my gosh i actually haven’t listened to most of these songs much recently but some of my favorites popped up in here. i’m really surprised there was no AJR or BTS, that’s literally all i’ve been listening to lately
I spoke too soon. The 11th song was BTS Medley, Pt. 1: Spring Day / I Need U - by Smyang Piano
Tagging @friendlyneighborhoodloki @weweregoddesses and all my followers! Have fun guys <3

Are BTS the only currant day band/singers you like?
Hi! Actually recently I haven’t been a huge fan of their music. They have pretty much given into typical pop type songs. I like Bollywood music generally. But I am very picky in that sector as well. As long as there is variety and good lyrics I stan the music. But the same repitive pop music with boring or mediocre lyrics stops me from liking any real singers/bands. Currently I am obessed with the music of Befikre, a bollywood movie. The mix between pop indian music and french music is the kind of creativity I look for in music. Thanks for the ask lovely

Hello My Lovely!
Top 5 Dance Performances/Videos
Hope you're having a beautiful day! 🌻
Hello Amuuu
Since you said performances - my mind went to award performances. Please expect a mix of Bollywood and kpop
1) BTS MMA - 2019
No performance beats this. The solos!!?!? The sets?!?! The LIVE ACTUAL horses?!?!
X
2) Priyanka Chopra - Filmfare 2011
This performance of hers was a tribute to Madhuri Dixit and said Madhuri Dixit WAS IN THE AUDIENCE. And she did so so well.
And no, you won't find a madhuri performance in this list because I CANNOT choose one. Not when it comes to her.
X
3) Hrithik Roshan - IIFA 2014 & 2016
God, I remember the hype for this performance. He was performing after a long time and everyone was loosing it. And rightfully, have you seen the man dance?? that grace, uff.
The 2016 had baawre and I am a sucker for him dancing on that song.
X X
4) Shahrukh Khan - 2011
If anyone thought there would be a list of award performances without Shahrukh Khan in it- they don't know me well enough - and that needs to immediately change. This man here is my first love. His wit, charm, elegance, humor in speaking.
As a dancer- he ain't gonna pop it lock and it but he has something that's essential to dance that some people who are even technically good don't have - grace.
In this video when he removed his glares- i squealed. Like i said, first love.
X
5)Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and THE Amitabh Bachchan - IIFA 2005
Okay-so context time.
Bunty aur Babli was a super hit movie in 2005 with the entire album having bops after bops. And Kajra Re was THE bop- it is, too date played in wedding functions. But then? You couldn't have a complete programme without that song. School annual day? Kajra re. Buildings new year part? It was there. Water parks? Duh.
And it was rumored Abhishek and rani broke up and Abhishek and Aishwarya - Miss India - started dating. So them performing it on a programme had created enough buzz as it is but then AMITBAH FREAKING BACHAN walks in - please, I am not even a huge fan of his but even I lost it.
X
So here ya go, Amu, that's a list of my Top 5 award performances.

Music
Favourite Genre/ What kind of Music I listen too?/ Why I Love listening to Music?
Columbia College Chicago, (2006), Hip-Hop Studies (Minor) [ONLINE]. Available at: https://www.colum.edu/academics/programs/hip-hop-studies.html [Accessed 31 January 2019].
Hip pop: I love the genre due to different types of production that are used uniquely used to compare some forms of electronic music and the way it has poetry set to the beat of the music. This can be very inspiring and refreshing as the technique allows older songs to get influenced into a completely new and original song.
Amazon, (2019), TST INNOPRINT CO ASAP Rocky Smoke Rap Music Poster 20x13 [ONLINE]. Available at: https://www.amazon.com/Rocky-Smoke-Music-Poster-20x13/dp/B076WPHG5P [Accessed 31 January 2019].
Rap: Rap music is easy to take in. It is music broken down to its fundamental form which are the beat and spoken word from the rapper. Some people think if you don’t like rap music then you are racist Rap Music is a way of celebrating “The thug”`as it is the new rock star of music.
Kustombeats, (2016), Better Afrobeats Song Arrangements [ONLINE]. Available at: http://afrobeats-world.com/2016/11/28/better-afrobeat-song-arrangements/ [Accessed 31 January 2019].
Afrobeat: Most people are familiar with the Afrobeat styles which was introduced by a Nigerian Musicians called Fela Kuti. Afrobeats is something different; with the addition of the letter "s" which begins a new chapter in global pop music. Afrobeats gets its unique sound from different influences. The style is mostly originated from countries in West African with the influence of music styles. Music genres like american jazz and funk are also added to the mix of afrobeat creating a wonderful sound from across the continents. When listening to Afrobeats it has features of complicated rhythms, a persuasion, repeating vocals, and Pidgin English (broken English spoken mostly in West Africa and in some parts of the Caribbean). Afrobeat music is taking-off internationally — the upbeat, fun, and energetic beat get people dancing in clubs and all around the world. There are plenty of artists creating music that are upbeat and are even making it even bigger as most African singers are collaborating with each other and other top international artist making it more great as Africans Dj’s are doing their best in making melodious beats.
Kelley C, (2017), How Korean Music Shows Diverged From MTV and Became the Epicenter of K-Pop Fan Culture [ONLINE]. Available at: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/k-town/7990486/korean-music-shows-mtv-trl-bts-history [Accessed 31 January 2019].
K-POP:
There is lots of colour and Costume: K Pop does so well is creative use of costumes and color in music videos. Asian pop culture always includes heavy thought, effects, make up, outfits, and everything else, are always in service to a greater theme and vision. An example is TVXQ ( South Korean pop duo group).
K Pop keeps the fans entertained as its uses the songs to tell a story methods in many songs and music videos. A perfect example is by Kim Wan-Sun.
Personality: K Pop is known for its unique and personalities. K Pop idols are usually known in Asia for truly standing out from the crowd and taking self expression.
Addicting melodies: K pop makes melodies tunes that are instantly stuck in peoples head. Boy and girl groups have appealing songs which makes their music appealing to fans no matter what language they speak as subtitles are always there to understand
Choreography: Choreography is another area where K pop artists dominate their fans love them. K-pop groups do not only sing and dance but they perform routines so complicated and challenging. This I believe requires a professional dancers which is hard work, practice, and skill. They are also well-known for performing these routines live proving they are truly skilled.
Bollywood: Indian music is influenced by the Indian folk music.
Bharatnatyam and Kathak are examples of classical dance and Bhangra dance is an example of folk dance. All these dances are spilt into groups ad have their own unique styles, but they often share signs and meanings that are combined to create modern Bollywood dances.
Popular Indian music are closely linked to social identity and its performers with the audiences. Indian Popular Music has one of the world's most extensive popular music industries. Most Indian popular music is associated with the commercial film industry, centred in Mumbai, in which song-and-dance scenes are inserted into every Bollywood movies.
Most Bollywood music are seen as colourful with lots of jewelries and lovely clothing making the choreographer even special.
A lot of hand gestures are used in any Bollywood songs: These hand movements are a form of sign language to help to tell a story or demonstrate themes such as weather, animals or places.
In Bharatnatyam hand gestures are called hastas. The fuller version of teh name is called “Asamyukta hastas”. These are done with one hand, while Samyukta hastas (another form of hand gestures) are done with two hand.
Bollywood dancing coudl look easy but it take a lots of patience, practice and some skills to be bale to get the dance moves.
Bollywood Event Compnay, (2014), High Calibre Bollywood Dance Group [ONLINE]. Available at: https://bollywoodeventcompany.co.uk/bollywood_explained/bollywood_explained.html [Accessed 31 January 2019]

From old-timers and local college students and pretty much anyone who has ever visited Sion, or lives around Sion-Matunga-Dadar knows what Guru Kripa is, and the precious place it holds in the hearts of Mumbaikars. For more than 41 years, Gurukripa has been dishing out tangy Pani Puris, Dahi Papdi, Samosas and more. Over the years, its popularity has soared, so don’t be surprised to find it crowded most of the time. The restaurant is perpetually flooded with hungry eaters and you have to first get a coupon before you buy anything. Our Host Jeetu ensured that we have a wonderful experience while we sailed through our gastronomical adventure of 10 Assorted Pani Puris and Dahi Puris which by the way were mind-blowing. The “tikki” was an in-between of sorts between a Mumbai patipatienced a Delhi tikki. It was served with the trademark chhole(chickpea curry) and the two chutneys, making it an epic mix. Ended our journey with crunchy, spicy, potato-filled SAMOSA..one bite of these tasty samosas and you will know you haven’t had a better one anywhere in Mumbai. Guru Kripa also has South Indian dishes on its menu,bt is most popular for its North Indian and Sindhi items. Bollywood legend Raj Kapoor and Romance king Dilip Kumar iarkarewn to have been a regular at this eatery. . #foodreviewonline
