Alright… Blue’s work on Ash Hunter has got me thinking…

Mary x Katrina???

Seriously. I get it doesn’t work outside of the stuff Blue is writing but now I can’t NOT ship them in SOME way.

Mostly because Kat and Ash become friends through their mutual jealousy of Mary and Thomas falling in love and getting together and the two end up doing some self-discovery. But of course, knowing Blue and their favorite tropes I feel like Mary and Kat will likely get together and they have great chemistry too. They become close friends and work together often since Mary is a medium and Kat is a witch who has an affinity to summon demons.

But of course Thomas and Mary being adorable is absolutely heart melting (Same with Toast and Mary tbh. Seeing cute stuff of those two gives me very big feels and I just wanna squish their faces). Conflicting ships my despised </3

Anyway… curious of someone else’s thoughts. ^^

Sorry for the delay— thank you for the update in how the development of Blue’s taleblr-based original story btw I’m excited to learn more— I think that in the context you provided, there could be something interesting there! I don’t want a cute relationship to be broken up (Thomas and Mary deserve to be happy if they’re that teeth-rottingly adorable,,) but I’m sure there’s a way to make it work without relationship-ending drama! Even if that just includes Kat and Mary being the closest besties to ever bestie.

Sadly, while I KNOW people who could have a successful Katrina/Mary ship, it wouldn’t work with my own interpretation of the characters. My version of Katrina dies pretty young (like. 16 at the oldest)— something I’m considering revising because as it stands now, I kinda fridged her— and actually doesn’t stick around as a ghost, she moves on peacefully. I know that if I ever want to mess with her, I could have her brought back the same way Maxwell was (in my interpretation of the characters). But with that being said, Mary lives well into her adulthood which is obvious because she did get married.

Honestly, I think the only problem here is that my version of Katrina and Mary are underwritten and underdeveloped outside of the base information. I need to put more work into them ^^;

Going off of your response to anon’s question:

Option 2 might lead in to CBF actually being Ghost’s/Gregory’s mom.

Either her or some other demon. If it’s another demon… kinda curious to see Ghost’s reaction to meeting his bio mom

That would change a whole lot of context, and combined with the ask suggesting that CBF’s failure to take care of Gregory was a matter of ignorance rather than malice, it could feed into a really tragic story. One where the people who saved Gregory’s life and Gregory himself are convinced that the creature housing and attempting to care for him is a danger in his life, and keep him hidden from them.

So the people who raised Ghost accidentally raise him to be fearful and distrustful of a creature who turns out to be his loving mother.

If I were to write this as a fanfic, I’d have the first fic be about Ghost initially being distrusting and maybe even hateful of CBF and finding out the truth during the climax, and the second fic is about Ghost attempting to work through his trauma so he can try to reconnect with.. well, in this case, his mom. Because no matter how the situation is sliced, no matter how much CBF loves Gregory in a pure and undemented way… Ghost was hurt. He was traumatized, and that can’t be waved away by learning intent. It’s something he’ll have to work on, and something he might not want to work on at first.

I hate to always add/say things like this (mostly do it so people don’t get my personal lore confused between all the headcanons) but in my own thing CBF is dangerous, and prefers a sibling role, and while I use it/its for CBF they lean more masculine to me. All of that is to say, I’m leaving that fic structure idea out in the world for anyone to use bc I have no plans, I would have to entirely rewrite my little world for it <3

Sorry I’ve been very inactive recently, ArtFight has been consuming a large part of my life rn! I figured i might as well share one thing to show I’m still around so… have the all-ghost attack i said I’d do!

This is every johnny ghost/johnny ghost inspired character i could find on artfight <3 we’ve got, left-to-right, Ghost Long ( @bstroobery ), Johnny Ghost (edit: their tumblr is @vettinart tysm ), Johnny Ghost ( @pieisgay ), and Simon “Ghost” Woods ( @dehliman ). There are two more characters, but those are mine ^^ (George and Gregory Mortis). All of their designs/characters were really fun to draw, and I’m really happy with how it turned out… tho I’m adding a version without the overlay so it’s easier to see.
