జోగులాంబ గద్వాల జిల్లా అలంపూర్ నియోజకవర్గంలో ఓ బహుజన జర్నలిస్టును ఓ మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్యే అనుచరులు తమ వార్తలు రాయడంలేదని… రాయిచూర్-కర్నూల్ రహదారిలో జులకల్,  వెంకటాపూర్ స్టేజ్ మధ్య ఉన్న మామిడి తోట దగ్గర ఈ హత్యా ప్రయత్నం జరిగింది. ఎవరికీ అనుమానం రాకుండా ఇది ఓ యాక్సిడెంట్ గా క్రియేట్ చేయడానికి ప్రయత్నించగా ఆ జర్నలిస్టు(హెల్మెట్ రక్షణతో)తృటిలో ప్రమాదం నుంచి బయటపడినట్టు తెలుస్తోంది. అక్కడ  ఇదివరకు రెండు ప్రమాదాలు జరిగాయని స్థానికులు చెప్పడంతో ఆ ప్రమాద ఘటనలపై పలు అనుమానాలకు తావిస్తోంది. దీని వెనక మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్యే బంధువులు, శ్రేయోభిలాషులు, అధికార పార్టీకి చెందిన కొందరు నేతలు ఉన్నట్టు స్థానికుల భోగట్టా. అక్కడ ఒక ప్రమాద హెచ్చరిక బోర్డులు లేకపోవడం అధికారుల నిర్లక్ష్యానికి ఆ మామిడి తోట నిలువెత్తు సాక్ష్యం.

In a surprising turn of events, the recent bypolls in Uttarakhand saw the Congress clinching victory in both Assembly seats, dealing a setback to the ruling BJP. Mahendra Bhatt, the BJP state president, acknowledged that fielding turncoat leaders from other parties was a strategic error that contributed to these losses.

Despite its resounding victory in the general elections earlier this year and its recent win in the 2022 Assembly polls, the BJP faltered in the bypolls. The Badrinath bypoll saw Rajendra Singh Bhandari, a three-time Congress MLA who joined BJP earlier this year, losing to Congress’s Lakhpat Singh Butola by 5,224 votes. This loss is seen as a significant shift in the political landscape of Garhwal, where BJP previously held all 14 Assembly segments.

In Manglaur, Kartar Singh Bhadana, a recent BJP entrant from BSP and brother of noted politician Avtar Singh Bhadana, lost to senior Congress leader Qazi Nizamuddin by a narrow margin of 422 votes. This seat, traditionally contested between Congress and BSP, showcased a competitive environment.

SUPREME COURT CHANGES THE COURSE OF 'DEFECTION POLITICS' IN INDIA IN 2023!

V. important "final interpretation" given by the Supreme Court, that is most likely to end the 'Defection era' or 'Legislative merger' era of Indian Politics.

Supreme Court in it's final interpretation lays down that, only original political party & not the legislature party ie not the person or authority authorized by the original political party in this behalf, is the final authority in giving direction to vote or abstain from voting in the House (State Assembly or Parliament) or in condoning such act done against it's direction within 15 days.

Further, in effect, mandating the Speaker to accept this above interpretation, by using language like 'Speaker MUST recognize......the POLITICAL PARTY (for the above purpose) WRT THE PROVISIONS OF THE PARTY CONSTITUTION, after conducting an enquiry in this regard, AND IN KEEPING WITH THE PRINCIPLES DISCUSSED IN THIS JUDGMENT.

The Thackeray Govt though remains unable to take benefit of this landmark & historic SC judgment, by virtue of having resigned w/o allowing the whip to be challenged.

This judgment is also bound to give attention to Rajasthan Congress Govt drama from 2 yrs back, given that it also puts Gehlot Govt's 6 BSP MLA's vulnerable to being barred, given that they also merged against the will of their original party. Though rival Pilot group wouldn't be able to make use by virtue of ironically the same amendment. (By virtue of Congress condoning his hypothetical disqualification, that mandatorily need be accepted by Speaker, thus blocking the second pathway to split defections, namely, 'defection via disqualification' ie allowing oneself or one's faction to be purposely disqualified, so to reduce the overall strength of the House, thus giving the befriended oppn a toe in to the half way mark, with speaker as per earlier powers with full, unrestricted discretion on the matter.)

Atiq Ahmed Son Encounter: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Praises UP STF, Senior Officials For Action

Atiq Ahmed's son Asad and his accomplice Ghulam were killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Police in Jhansi. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the state police for their action.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the state police after gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's son Asad and his accomplice Ghulam, both wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case, were killed in an encounter in Jhansi on Thursday. He praised the officials during a meeting to review the law and order following the encounter. The police also gave him a report on this matter.

"After the encounter of former MP Atiq Ahmed's son Asad and his aide, CM Yogi Adityanath took a meeting on law and order. CM Yogi praised UP STF as well as DGP, Special DG law and order and the entire team," the UP Chief Minister's Office stated, as per news agency ANI.

"Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary Home informed the CM about the encounter. A report was placed in front of the CM on this whole matter," the CMO informed.

Earlier, Special Additional Director General (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar informed: "Asad and Ghulam were wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case of Prayagraj and were carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh each. They were killed in an encounter with the UP STF team".

"The UP STF team was led by Deputy SP Navendu and Vimal. Sophisticated foreign-made weapons were recovered from the accused. Further details are awaited," the officer added.

Umesh Pal, a key witness in the 2005 murder case of then BSP MLA Raju Pal, and his two police security guards were shot dead outside his home in Prayagraj's Dhoomanganj area on February 24 this year. Based on a complaint lodged by Umesh Pal's wife Jaya Pal, a case was registered on February 25 against Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, Asad, Ghulam, and others.

The FIR was lodged under sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapons), 149 (unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

Atiq Ahmed is also an accused in the 2005 Raju Pal murder case.

"Encounters In The Name Of Religion": Asaduddin Owaisi Targets BJP

Reacting to the killing of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's son during an exchange of fire with the UP police, Asaduddin Owaisi said the law was being torn to shreds with such so-called encounters.

New Delhi: Attacking the BJP for conducting encounters "in the name of religion", AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday sought to know whether those who burnt to death the two youth in Haryana would also be killed in an encounter.

Mr Owaisi, who was addressing a gathering at Nizamabad in Telangana, referred to the killing of Junaid and Naseer in Haryana, allegedly by cow vigilantes in February this year.

"Whose government is in power in Haryana? Are houses not being bulldozed? Are encounters not done by firing bullets?... will you shoot at those who killed Junaid and Naseer?" he asked.

"... you do encounter in the name of religion. Can you eliminate the killers of Junaid and Naseer? You will not do. So far, one has been caught and nine disappeared," he said.

Reacting to the killing of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's son during an exchange of fire with the UP police, he said the law was being torn to shreds with such so-called encounters.

"You want to do an encounter of the Constitution. You want to weaken the rule of law. Then what the courts, CrPC, IPC, judges, public prosecutor are for?" the AIMIM leader questioned.

"If you decide that we will do justice with bullets, then close down courts. What will judges do? Rule of law should prevail... This is the work of court. Not yours. You nab the criminal. You get punishment for a criminal," Mr Owaisi said.
