Tumblr media
If you’re planning a career in nursing, securing admission to a reputable institution is your first step toward success. Royal Nursing College is among the top institutions offering direct admission for the BSc Nursing Admission 2024 and GNM Nursing Admission 2024-25 programs. This blog will guide you through everything you need to know about the application process, eligibility, and key details for both BSc and GNM nursing programs for the 2024-25 academic year.
BSc Nursing Admission 2024: Your Gateway to a Rewarding Career
The BSc Nursing Admission 2024 is a highly anticipated opportunity for students interested in building a career in the healthcare sector. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) equips you with the knowledge and skills to become a registered nurse and provides diverse career opportunities in hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities globally.
How to Apply for BSc Nursing Admission 2024
To begin your application process, it’s essential to complete the BSc Nursing Application Form 2024. This form is your first step toward enrollment and must be submitted with all required documents. Make sure you carefully follow the instructions provided by Royal Nursing College to avoid any delays or errors in the process.
BSc Nursing Application Form 2024-25: Deadlines and Process
The BSc Nursing Application Form 2024-25 will be available on the official college website. Ensure that you fill out the form within the designated time frame. Late submissions may lead to disqualification or limited availability of seats. The BSc Nursing Online Form 2024 can be easily accessed through the college’s online portal, simplifying the entire process for applicants.
Key documents required for BSc Nursing Admission 2024:
Academic certificates (10+2)
Proof of age (Birth certificate or equivalent)
Identity proof (Aadhaar card, passport, etc.)
Recent passport-sized photographs
BSc Nursing Fees
The BSc Nursing Fees at Royal Nursing College are designed to be affordable while ensuring top-quality education. Detailed information about the fee structure will be available during the admission process, and you can inquire about any scholarships or financial assistance options offered by the college.
Eligibility Criteria for BSc Nursing Admission 2024
Before applying, it’s crucial to understand the BSc Nursing Eligibility requirements. Generally, applicants must have:
Completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects.
A minimum aggregate of 45-50% in their qualifying exams (may vary by college).
Passed an entrance exam or secured direct admission depending on the college’s policies.
Admission in BSc Nursing: Key Steps
Securing admission in BSc Nursing at Royal Nursing College is straightforward if you meet the eligibility criteria. The college offers direct admission as well as entrance exam-based admission options. Be sure to check if you qualify for BSc Nursing Admission Without NEET, as some colleges may waive the requirement for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for nursing courses.
GNM Nursing Admission 2024-25: A Vital Nursing Program
For students looking to pursue a diploma course in nursing, the GNM Nursing Admission 2024-25 offers a three-year program that provides in-depth practical and theoretical training. The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program is ideal for those who wish to become skilled nurses without committing to a full BSc degree.
How to Apply for GNM Nursing Admission 2024-25
Just like BSc Nursing, the application process for GNM requires filling out the GNM Nursing Application Form 2024. This can be done either online through the college’s official website or by visiting the admission office. The GNM Nursing Online Form 2024 simplifies the submission process, making it easier for candidates to apply from any location.
Eligibility for GNM Nursing Admission 2024

Completion of 10+2 education in any stream (science stream is often preferred).
A minimum aggregate score (usually around 40-45%) in the qualifying exam.
Age between 17 and 35 years (varies by college).
GNM Nursing Fees
The GNM Nursing Fees at Royal Nursing College are competitive, offering value for money in terms of education and facilities. The detailed fee structure will be provided during the admission process, and there may be options for scholarships or installment payments to make the fees more manageable.
Admission in GNM Nursing: What You Need to Know
Securing admission in GNM Nursing is a great option for students interested in starting their nursing career with a diploma course. The GNM Nursing Entrance Exam 2024 may be required by some institutions, while others offer direct admission based on merit. Similar to BSc Nursing, some colleges offer GNM Admission Without NEET, allowing students to apply without needing to clear the NEET exam.
GNM Nursing Admission Form and Online Application
The GNM Nursing Admission Form is an essential part of the application process. Ensure that all the details are accurate and submit the form before the deadline. For convenience, applicants can opt for the GNM Nursing Online Application process, making it easier to apply from anywhere.
BSc Nursing Entrance Exam 2024 and GNM Nursing Entrance Exam 2024
While many institutions offer BSc Nursing Admission Without NEET, others may require candidates to clear the BSc Nursing Entrance Exam 2024. The same applies to GNM, where some colleges conduct a GNM Nursing Entrance Exam 2024 to assess applicants. Be sure to prepare adequately and check the entrance requirements for Royal Nursing College.

What is the new update for spouse visas in Canada in 2024?
Tumblr media
Are you planning to join your partner or spouse on Spouse Open Work Permit then this Canada spouse visa news is just for you?
As of March 19, spouses and partners of international students are only qualified for a SOWP if their sponsor is enrolled in a master’s or doctorate program at a Canadian university or polytechnic.
The department had already announced on January 22, 2024, several changes to Canada’s overseas student program. The fact that SOWPs will no longer be available to the spouses of international students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs is one notable change.
According to Canada spouse visa news, there are a few exceptions for undergraduate students’ spouses or companions. Spouses of undergraduate students enrolled in the following professional degree programs at institutions are eligible to apply for a SOWP:
Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor (LLB, BCL)
Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN, BNSc, BSN)
Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng., BE, BASc)
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS, DMD)
Doctor of Optometry (OD)
Doctor of Medicine (MD)
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
Pharmacy (PharmD, BS, BSc, BPharm)
Spouses and partners need to present two documents when applying for a SOWP:
one showing their relationship with the student and
the other proving their partner’s attendance in a degree-granting program. As acknowledged by the IRCC:
A current Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from a designated educational institution (DLI)
a letter from their spouse or partner’s DLI proving their enrollment
transcripts from the current program of their partner or spouse
If you are an applicant who has applied before:
The IRCC states that those who submitted a SOWP application before to March 19 are still qualified if their partner:
has a current study permission.
Full-time attendance at one of the following types of schools:
a private college-level school in Quebec;
A public higher education establishment, like a college, university, or CEGEP
A private Canadian school authorized by provincial legislation to confer degrees (such as bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees)
Must be qualified for work permit post-graduation (PGWP)
These conditions remain the same for holders of SOWPs who wish to apply to extend their current permit.
What happens if you are not granted a Spouse Open Work Permit?
Spouses and partners of international students who are no longer eligible for a work permit can apply for a tourist visa (TRV) or another type of work permit. Conversely, foreigners who come to Canada for tourism are not allowed to work in Canada.
An SOWP is a tool to help the IRCC achieve its goal of promoting family reunions and allows workers to work for almost any employer in Canada.
As per the Canada spouse visa latest news on Canada spouse visas, Immigration Minister Marc Miller said in a statement to the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration (CIMM) on February 28 that he was limiting SOWPs to master’s and PhD students’ partners and spouses to “attack a volume challenge but also integrity challenges with what we believe was an area that was being exploited and not necessarily legitimate.”
Please note that Canadian spouse sponsorship requirements or criteria keep changing from time to time, so it’s essential to check the most recent information with a qualified immigration professional at750-383-2132/ 928 928 9006/ 928 928 9007 for the latest details on eligibility criteria for a spouse visa in Canada.

Dr. Bharat Vatwani's journey from Borivali to Karjat to Manila...
The Ramon Magsaysay award, also called Asia's Nobel Prize, was established in 1957, in memory of the late Filipino president, Ramon del Fierro Magsaysay.
Tumblr media
Ramon Magsaysay served as Philippines' president only for 3.5 years from December, 1953 to March, 1957, when he died in a plane crash. But his tenure was widely regarded as the golden period of Philippines history, underlining his "integrity in governance, courageous service to the people, and pragmatic idealism within a democratic society".
When he died, a New York based trust - The Rockefeller Brothers Fund - set up the Ramon Magsaysay award, with the concurrence of the Filipino government, recognizing outstanding Asians in the fields of government service, public service, community leadership, emergent leadership, journalism and arts, peace and international understanding.
The awards ceremony happens every year on 31st August, his birthday, in Manila. Winners are given a gold medallion and a cash prize of USD 30000.
In 2018, two Indians won this award. One of them was a Mumbai based doctor called Bharat Vatwani, who began his long and inspiring journey in 1988, when he saw a young man drinking water from a gutter. Therein lies a story!
Tumblr media
Bharat Vatwani grew up in Mumbai. Having lost his father when he was 12 years old, he took up odd jobs to become a self-supporting student and did his MBBS from Grant Medical College, Mumbai, in 1982. In 1986, he completed his MD in Psychiatry from G S Medical College and Hospital, Mumbai. He married Smitha, another psychiatrist, and they started their private practice in Borivali.
Tumblr media
One day, he and his wife were dining in a restaurant, when they saw an unkempt young man, drinking water from a gutter. They took him to their clinic, washed him, cleaned him and recognized signs of mental illness. They learnt he was a BSc graduate from Andhra Pradesh. They treated him and then reunited him with his family.
One thing led to another and Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation was born, with the purpose of rescuing mentally ill, street people (people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression), providing them free shelter and psychiatric treatment, and reuniting them with their families. They started small - with a two-room set up that could take three patients at best.
Later, the couple found and treated a well-known professor from Sir JJ School of Art, who was wandering on Mumbai roads for over two years, because of schizophrenia. This triggered an overwhelming response from art students, who organised a fund-raiser art exhibition for Dr Vatwani’s cause. 141 artists from India and abroad participated and raised USD 22,357. This enabled them to expand to a 20-bed facility in 1996.
As they continued their selfless work, private donors, volunteers and social workers came into their lives. In 2006, they moved into a 120-patient facility, on a 6.5 acre land in Karjat, 60 km away from Mumbai. Today, Shraddha has 20 social workers, 8 nurses and 3 doctors other than Dr. Vatwani and his wife. Since its inception in 1988, Shraddha Foundation has rescued more than 7000 mentally ill, roadside destitute, with a phenomenal reunion rate of 95%.
Tumblr media
Shraddha Foundation works on three pillars - Rescue, Treatment and Reunion.
Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation is unique because it actively seeks mentally ill people on the streets. Every month, it gets about 100 referral calls from locals, policemen and mental health institutes, about someone in their area who needs help. The foundation's workers ask the caller for a photograph and despatch a team of 3-4 people in an ambulance. The rescue operation has to be done with a lot of sensitivity. Stones get thrown, abuses get hurled, injuries are sustained. Sometimes it takes an hour or more for the rescue operation to conclude. Rescue workers make it a point never to bind and tie any body up. But in rare occasions, a mild sedative is given.
Sometimes, the 120-bed facility is less than full. The foundation's workers comb the streets of Mumbai, Pune and surrounding areas, in search of anyone who needs rescuing. The social workers identify mentally ill people by physical signs like overgrown hair, unclipped nails and unwashed and soiled clothes, as well as psychiatric manifestations like talking and laughing to oneself, hitting oneself, incomprehensible gesturing and refusal to respond.
The rescued patients are brought to the Karjat facility for the next step - Treatment.
Tumblr media
The Karjat campus has a large administrative building that is called the Central Unit that also houses a ward for patients. There are two more buildings with male wards and female wards, a meditation center, plots of land where rice and vegetables are grown, and a cattle-shed with Gir cows. Patients wear yellow T-shirts, printed with the word ‘Shraddha’ and the symbols of five religions. Thee campus could be mistaken for a yoga camp.
Tumblr media
The moment of truth is Reunion. As patients recover, they become homesick and many of them recall the addresses of their homes. Sometimes, they recall just the name of a village, district or nearest police station. Sometimes, their details can be matched with the information in the police’s list of missing persons.
Once Dr. Vatwani certifies that a patient has recovered, the foundation books train tickets for the patient and an accompanying social worker to the railway station nearest to the patient’s home.
Every patient needs to continue taking Dr Vatwani’s prescribed course of psychiatric medication for at least two years after he is discharged. For those who cannot afford or cannot access these drugs, Shraddha sends a month’s course by post, tailoring the dosage according to any side-effects reported by the patient or his family.
From rescue to reunion, the entire process is free for the patient, sustained by the Vatwanis’ private practice and by donations!!!
Post-script:
In 2016, a 25-year-old man from Nanded, Maharashtra, stepped inside his home two months after he had suddenly disappeared. A garlanded picture of him hung on the wall. As soon as he entered the house, a commotion broke out. His elderly parents began crying with joy. His young wife began thanking the lord loudly. She rushed indoors amid the chaos and came back dressed in her brightest sari. She had put her bindi and mangalsutra back on.
Dr. Bharat Vatwani has created a similar impact in 6500 plus families across India! Hence the Ramon Magsaysay award!!
Tumblr media
Just in case you are curious who the other Indian was who won the award in 2018, just check this out...

An Introduction
This is truly a monumental first. If a first was the third or fourth time I have attempted to start a blog in the past 18 months, but what better time to get stuck into something like this than in the middle of an international pandemic that has forced billions of people into hiding away in their homes while a microscopic bat bug runs rampant across all the populated continents. I guess that was all the incentive I needed to genuinely start detailing my thoughts, feelings and actions in a semi consistent and somewhat entertaining manner. Because, despite me being in a place of relative peace and stability despite the current situation, there is still a lot going on inside that head of mine, as well as the overflowing catalogue of memories that are trapped inside my brain, just waiting to be unleashed upon this unsuspecting planet.
I’m 31. Single. Living by myself (this month being an exception what with the national lockdown and all that, but maybe more on that in a future post). I was born and raised in a little place known as New Zealand, and still currently live there, my feet currently planted in a little tourist town known as Taupo where I protect our native forests and wildlife, primarily by killing wildlife that doesn’t exactly belong here (shoutout to my colonial ancestors who thought it was a great idea to flood this country with all manner of rats, possums, ferrets and rabbits in order to make the countryside feel more ‘European’ and to increase biological diversity......yeah.....those guys weren’t exactly educated on matters relating to ecology).  I have also been a lab tech, working in quarries, gold mines, and an agricultural R & D department. I have delivered mail for a living. I was a teenage lumberjack. I have been a ‘full time’ streamer on Twitch. I have gotten up at 4am and milked cows in order to pay for a university education that has barely benefited me.
That time spent at uni gifted me a double degree (BA, majoring in Media Studies and a BSc, majoring in Geography) which I have hardly used, but hey! At least it provided me with years of crippling debt that I have yet to pay off. On top of that I have dropped out of two other schools - Media Design, where I had dreams of becoming a video game developer until I realised I was absolutely horrible at programming 2 weeks in. And there was the half year I spent training to become a Vet Nurse, not a Veterinarian, which seems to be a common misconception when I need to elaborate on this story. Anyways, I spent 6 months out of 12 realising that while looking after sick animals was a fulfilling and worthwhile pursuit, being some Vet’s personal assistant and dealing with chaotic and inconsolable clients was so unbelievably nightmarish that I jumped ship. I played football (or soccer, for you ‘Muricans) for 19 years straight until a freak injury had me sidelined for the past 6 years, but I still intend to get back into playing one of these days, if my worn and broken body allows me to. I played 11 aside, 7 aside, 5 aside, futsal and anything in between, and there were many winter months where I was either training or playing every single day. I was never particularly talented or skilled, but that didn’t stop me from loving the hell out of it. As my current job, and previous snippet about vet nursing suggested, I have a strong interest in animals and nature and have always marveled at all creatures big and small. My favourite? The Orca Whale, hands down. Nothing even comes close to those majestic, mysterious and awe inspiring creatures, and the few times I have seen them in the wild have left me utterly and absolutely floored. I have two dogs and a cat who all live with my parents for the time being, but I do hope I can live somewhere that allows me to be closer to them one day, fingers and toes crossed on that one.  I have an incredibly strong interest in narrative based forms of media - regardless of what form they are in. Books, movies, video games, songs, and shows, I have a fascination with narratives and how stories can be told. Which is probably why most of my free time is usually spent invested in one or more of these avenues at any given time, and one day, maybe, possibly, I may even create a story of my own and share it with others. We shall see. Don’t be holding your breath on that one, this blog is probably going to be the first tentative baby step towards getting me used to writing with some creativity again, and if I manage to be consistent and shake that rust off I may be able to take things to the next level and tell a tale or two. And on that note I shall leave things there. A rather dry, run of the mill introduction to kick things off, but we all have to start somewhere, right? And if you have made it this far, I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Until next time!
