chapter eleven: flat earthers

a/n: whew first chapter of oikawa’s route is done (idk if i can even call it a route but whatever). As always, enjoy ;)

oikawa’s pov: 

y/n’s pov: (after she met with kuroo)

y/n cursed under her breath, insulting the brown-haired boy who stood before her. After all, climbing out of a window isn’t the most fun thing to do. 

“Well hello princess!” Oikawa teased, referring to the angry look on y/n’s face. Sending him a glare, y/n smoothed out the large hoodie she had received from Yaku before she left Tokyo. Oikawa just smiled in return and tucked his hands into his hoodie. 

“It’s already 8:30, why couldn’t we just hang out with the team tomorrow?” y/n asked, while Oikawa checked his phone. 

“Hang out with the team? As if they would want to hang out with me outside of practice,” Oikawa scoffed. Y/n turned to him with confusion laced on her face. 

“You mean it’s just us?” y/n questioned the captain’s motive for dragging her out of the warm house. 

“Yup! Well let’s start walking, otherwise, you’re going to freeze,” Oikawa responded with a wink, and began to walk down the road.

“You can’t look at me and tell me that there isn’t some kind of life form that exists beside us in this universe!” Oikawa exclaimed. Y/n just laughed at the tall boy’s rant about the extra-terrestrial. 

Oikawa and y/n walked next to each other as they made their way towards their destination; the ramen shop where the team frequented. Between the first team meeting and now, y/n had been to the shop a total of 4 times. It was nice having a place to automatically go to. Back in Tokyo, Lev would push to try new restaurants due to the city’s large number of places to dine. 

As they walked in, they were greeted by a short lady who allowed them to sit in their normal seats. Due to the constant visitation of the restaurant, there was no need for them to order, as the servers already knew what they wanted. 

Shedding his coat, Oikawa looked over to see y/n’s gaze fixated on the small charm on her keychain; a cat. He assumed it was a gift from her friends back in Tokyo, and a sad smile grew on his face.

“You seemed very happy to see your friends again today,” y/n’s gaze snapped up to Oikawa’s face and she giggled softly. 

“Yeah I really did, it was nice seeing Kuroo and Kenma,” Oikawa just nodded as he took into account how hard it must be for y/n to adjust. Although he believed that Keiko was helping a lot. 

“I couldn’t imagine having to leave my friends like that. Even though Iwa and I may get into petty arguments, he is the one person that I can depend on, whether at home or on the court.”

Oikawa and y/n smiled softly at each other, a mutual understanding between them. The silence was cut short as their orders came out, and the pair began to discuss their favorite topics once again.
