> Alright gonna get mildly into it for a second, the clone wars really gets into it with episodes like this, displaying how the entire galaxy was starting to lose faith in the Jedi and their peacekeeping ways, in the movies we just got that people just started hating the Jedi because they became part of the war, but this really fleshes it out and shows just how slowly and gradually the loss of faith is. Because he’s right, the Jedi aren’t peacekeepers anymore, they bring as much destruction with them that the separatists do and have become symbols of war. They’re fighting for a good reason yes, but they can no longer claim that they are peacekeepers or that they played no role in this war.

hey guys, I just finished rewatching the entirety of Bad Batch and I’m Feeling™ things, mind if I gush for a bit? SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY LOL

first of all, I honestly can’t tell you what brought about this, I just randomly decided a couple days ago that I wanted to rewatch the show. it’s only one season rn, so it only took me a couple nights to finish. I would’ve finished sooner, but I’ve also been writing a self-insert fic alongside the rewatch because why not amirite hahaha. the hyperfixation is strong with this one 😂

secondly, I went into this rewatch REALLY wanting to see things from Crosshair’s perspective. knowing how the season ends and finding out that Crosshair (potentially) had his chip removed makes so much more sense now. there was one line in particular that really got me. it was during episode 15, after Crosshair had brought Hunter to Kamino. he said something about how the rest of the Batch would come for Hunter because “they don’t leave their own behind, most of the time.” Hunter retorts by saying Crosshair was trying to kill them, so they didn’t have a choice. Crosshair’s response? “And I did?”

THIS. MOTHERFRICKER.

at first I thought Crosshair was lying about getting his chip out, but that line has (mostly) changed my mind. Crosshair’s implying that he didn’t have control over his actions, AND HE KNEW IT. there was a scene in episode 3 where we see Crosshair on the operating table again, which at first we assume is them amplifying his chip again, but this was most likely when he got his chip out. episode THREE. and just like Rex and Wrecker, Crosshair remembered the horrible things he did while under the influence.

this is why he wants to reunite with the rest of the Batch again. yes, he’s still mad at Hunter because he felt abandoned, but he was still willing to give them another chance! and I! am! sad!!! 😭😭😭

honestly, my feelings for Crosshair have kind of changed. I felt bad for him at first because like the rest of the Batch, I thought he was still under the influence of the chip. but realizing that he was consciously making every single decision from episode 3 forward out of his own will? bruh... 

don’t get me wrong, I absolutely do not hate him or anything like that. if anything, I enjoy his character even more now. lbr, Crosshair has always been the actual edgy one of the group. we saw this all the way back when the Batch was first introduced. this time, when I rewatched the last two episodes and Crosshair talked about how loyal he was to the Empire... but like bruh the set design. fucking stellar listen the gose staff did a damn good job (either in choosing it or in dressing it i have no idea what they did to make this but fucking mad props to them either way) and it was a really good idea to give seokmin the added motive of trying to swap out the will cause it added some nice spice to the storyline of the episode and putting together all the backstories and making them distinct and having all the suspects and adding all those details must have taken so long and THE MEMBERS REMEMBER ALL THAT TOO and the fucking styling to fit their characters and also look fucking hot (which MISSION SUCCEEDED MOTHERFUCKERS) and b r u h h h h h h h h h
