Not-so-secret things that you may not know about your favorite drinks
Believe it or not, there are lots of things that most people don't know about some of their favorite drinks that they are shocked to discover once they are told. These are important to note in case you are giving them to a child or are not looking for extra sweetners or caffeine in your drinks. Keep reading to become a more educated customer!
1) ALL Refreshers contain caffeine
I know, I know. Shocking, right? I know they don't look like do because they’re basically fruit juice, however they are made with green bean extract and contain 45mg of caffeine in a grande sized drink. You can imagine how not knowing this can be a problem for parents who give these to their children..

2) The Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is made, by standard, with Blonde Espresso
And what is Blonde Espresso do you ask? Great question! It’s basically a higher-caffeinated, sweeter, lighter roast espresso. Since the beans are not roasted as much as a medium or dark roast, they look lighter (hence the name “blonde”) and therefore taste lighter and less bitter as well. What’s interesting is that, despite tasting lighter, blonde espresso contains more caffeine than regular espresso.

3) Unless it contains a syrup or is a refresher, NONE of are drinks are sweetened unless you ask for it.
Okay so let me explain: The Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, for example, is already sweet since it contains brown sugar syrup, which is sweet. Same with a vanilla latte, which contains vanilla syrup and is therefore sweet. On the other hand, a regular latte or cappuccino contains ZERO sugar unless you request it or add a syrup like Vanilla or hazelnut to it. Same with plain cold brew. Same goes for iced teas! Refreshers are already VERY sweet by default so no need to add sugar to those. This is super important to keep in mind, because if you like your drinks sweet you’ll be disappointed to take a bitter sip if you forgot to ask for sweetener. I remember when I was a customer I always forgot!! Only a couple drinks come pre-sweetened by default with our Classic syrup, which are the Iced Coffee and the Shaken Espresso (the regular one.)

4) Iced coffees DO NOT contain milk unless you ask for it, and they also contain our Classic syrup.
If I had a dollar for every time I asked a customer if they wanted the Classic on their iced coffee and they answer with a confused “what?” I would be a millionaire. After this exchange, I always have to explain that Iced coffee comes, by standard, with a classic syrup, which is basically just liquid sugar. Something else that happens a lot is that customers think that an iced coffee is the same as an iced latte, so they assume that the iced coffee comes with milk. But, by standard, an Iced coffee is simply the iced coffee blend, classic, and ice; no milk. We can add it, of course, but you have to ask! I understand their confusion, honestly, because I didn’t know what the heck a latte was before I started working at Starbucks; to me, an iced coffee was a general term for iced coffee-based drinks such as iced lattes or cold brews. However, this is not the case and, at least at Starbucks, iced coffee is a specific blend of its own separate from cold brew or espresso.

5) Unless they say “Creme” in their name, ALL Frappuccino's contain coffee/caffeine.
This does not happen THAT often, but once or twice I’ve had parents tell me, after they have paid and received their Frappuccino, that “they didn’t want coffee in this, they’re giving it to their kid” without realizing that, unless you specify that you don’t want coffee, Frappucinos are made with coffee by standard. The ONLY exception are Frappucinos that have the word “Creme” in the name, which is code for no coffee. The most popular example of this is the Vanilla Bean Frappuccino, which does not come with any coffee at all. If you were to want it with coffee, you can order a Cafe Vanilla Frappuccino.

favorite haircut you've had, least favorite form of caffeine, summer or winter?
tbh i'm pretty standard with hair ever since I was a teen - bangs and a layered cut. I go back and forth between blond and brunette though! I like it when it's short, it just doesn't look as flattering with my weight gain right now.
fave caffeine: coffee, particularly iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso's from starbucks
Summer or Winter is so tought because I feel like I always want the other season when I'm in the one. I'm leaning towards summer, just because there is an ease with it, but winter gets points from christmas
