These stunning Banded Demoiselle damdelfly wings were quite literally plucked from the river waveney in norfolk. On an afternoon paddle board i come across hundreds of Banded Demoiselle damselflies, living there best lives. Unfortunatley not all survived, so to honour their short lives I have salvaged what I could out of the river to bring you these wonderful keepsakes. Cover pupae artwork is of the Wood White, Cryptic Wood White, and Orange-Tip Butterflies. From pictures taken of Richard Lewington's Pocket Guide to the Butterflies of Great Britain and Ireland

There's no need for this field guide to exist because of the highly cryptic nature of pupae themselves and the fact so many moth pupae would be the same nondescript brown blob.

Warham Camp is a fascinating and well-preserved Iron Age fort sitting within farmland. It is within the Holkham Nature Reserve and a scheduled monument. It is well worth the walk to see this impressive area in its own right. I have had this piece of wasp nest a while now, and today I decided to take a proper look at it, and discovered something very interesting! I was able to gently coax out some of the wasps that resided inside, and found little wasps all at different levels of development, unfortunately by the time it came to trying to get some photos the daylight had gone, but it’s still quite interesting to see them all together like this!
