50341 by Ben Abel Via Flickr: The 2018 Lincoln Grand Prix in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. First run in 1956, the Lincoln Grand Prix is one of the longest continually running races on the British cycling calendar and is the closest the UK has to a French or Belgian Classic. With the route taking riders on a tough circuit over the city’s cobbles — including the notorious climb of Michaelgate — almost every big name in British cycling history has raced in and won. The last few years has seen the Women’s Elite Road Cycle Race to be added along with the long-standing male race. The event takes place over a whole weekend. As well as the main races there are also other events. Castle Criteriums: A city centre race for all abilities and ages on a course that circles Lincoln Castle. Races are for under 10s, under 12s, under14s, and under 16s (girls and boys), mens and womens (Junior - Elite). Lincoln Grand Prix Sportive: An event on the elite race circuit aimed for amateur cyclists who want to improve their skills and fitness. There are 33, 64, 80, or 100 mile courses tough hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, tackle the closed road cobbled climb of Michaelgate before finishing in Castle Square Uphill Dash: A series of 4 rider sprint races up the infamous and gruelling Michaelgate hill, parallel to Steep Hill. Winners progress through until 4 riders’ race in the grand finale. Information Source: www.lincolngrandprix.co.uk/site/

Hey girlie,
Can you write a mini story of Jack and the reader. And can you write how she met him on the set of avengers endgame. With that, the reader is already casted in her future marvel movie(like in 2022?) and during the timespan, she was filing avatar as well, so she and Jack got closer. And in her own marvel movie premiere, she comes with jack(as her date) and everyone is crazy about and interviewers are asking questions. And with the press tours as well. And can you be specific in how they met and how they got closer.
hi! 🫶🏻 sure! i love the best friends to lovers trope and i will never get tired of writing it. hope you enjoy it! 🤍
i’m only me when i’m with you — jack champion
words: 2,971
pairing: jack champion x fem!reader
summary: y/n and jack met on the set of avengers, and then reunite on the set of avatar. they form a close friendship and eventually fall for each other.
Y/N WAS ENERGETICALLY RUNNING AROUND THE AVENGERS SET WHEN HER BODY COLLIDED AGAINST SOMETHING. Hearing a grunt of pain, she realized it was not something, but someone. A boy around her age, with a Justin Bieber 2010 hairstyle.
“I’m so sorry!” she apologised. He stayed silent, looking at her with wide eyes. “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”. The short boy shook his head frenetically, without emitting a word. “You are not okay or I didn’t hurt you?” she laughed.
“You are Y/N Y/L/N” the boy said breathlessly.
Y/N looked down, inspecting her body before laughing “Yeah, I think so. Are you okay?” she repeated.
“Yes! Yes, sorry. I’m just a big fan, you are amazing as Venus” the boy replied nervously.
Y/N smiled widely, her cheeks tainted a deep red “Thank you so much! What’s your name?”.
“Jack, Jack Champion. I’m doing a very small role at the beginning of the movie. It’s not much, but well, I’m excited”
“No matter how small the role is, it’s still a marvel movie. So, you should be proud of yourself. Congratulations” she gave him a genuine smile.
“Thank you, that’s very nice of you! I appreciate it”
Jack was called by the director, so they had to say goodbye. Sadly, it was his first and only day on set, so they didn’t see each other again until a week later.
It was the first day of filming the Avatar movie, and Y/N was very nervous. Unlike the rest of the young cast, she didn’t have to audition, the director already had her in mind for the role, so she didn’t get to meet anyone until that day. She was afraid of, not only not fitting in, but that they would think badly of her for not having to live the excruciating experience of the audition.
The pressure on her chest intensified when she saw the group laughing together, but she walked towards them nonetheless. They fell silent when they noticed noticed her, and Y/N felt like crying.
“Y/N!” the excited voice of a kid said, and the sight of a familiar face calmed her nerves a bit.
“Jack, hi! So nice to see you again” she smiled.
“You too!” Jack was utterly surprised that the girl had recognised him, and even more excited to have the opportunity to work with her. “Let me introduce you: this is Bailey, Trinity, Jamie and Britain. Guys, this is-”
“Are you kidding me? We know!” Bailey interrupted him. “It’s so nice to meet you! You are amazing!”.
“Your character Venus is so cool!” Britain said.
“Yeah, and you are very talented” Jamie complimented her.
Y/N blushed at the wave of flattery she had just received “Thank you very much guys!”.
“Can we ask you if you are going to be in any marvel movies after Endgame? Only if you can say it” Trinity asked her. Her voice was so sweet and adorable that Y/N couldn’t lie to her.
“Please don’t say anything, but yeah. I’m still going to be working with Marvel, can’t tell you what though, for now. But I promise you that when I’m allowed to say it you’ll be the first to know” Y/N smiled at her.
“Not fair! She gets privilege for being adorable?” Jack said, acting as if he were annoyed.
“Yup” Y/N said, and Trinity stuck his tongue out at Jack, making them all laugh.
Y/N was happy she fitted right in. She bonded with the young cast pretty quickly, and she had never been happier with her work. Excitement was all she felt every morning she woke up to go to the set, and sadness when the filming hours were over.
Jack and her were the ones with the closest friendship, as they spent most of their time with each other due to their characters having lots of screen time together. So comfortable around the other, they also started to spend their free time together. Their mothers literally couldn’t pull them apart, they appeared to be sticked together with glue.
“School is trash“ Jack groaned in frustration, resting his forehead on his math book.
Y/N laughed “Come on, don’t be dramatic. You better get use to it, because we have four more years of high school” she hit him with her pencil.
“Y/N/N! That hurt” he tried not to laugh while rubbing his head.
“Oh my god! Did you hear that thud? You really have nothing in there” she said motioning to his head.
“Oh you think you are hilarious, don’t you? You’ll pay for that” he said before tackling her to the floor of his living room and started to tickle her.
She let out a small scream “No! Stop it!” she said in between laughs.
“Say you’re sorry!”
“No!” she said stubbornly, trying to get him off her. She was taller than him, but his training clearly gave him an advantage.
“What is going on here?” Y/N and Jack’s mothers entered the living room.
“She called me dumb and I’m making her apologise” Jack answered.
“Jack please let go of Y/N/N” his mom told him.
“And Y/N, apologise to him” her mother said.
“I’m sorry I called you dumb, dumbass” she said. The thirteen-year old grabbed a small pillow from the couch and hit her with it “Here, let me help you with that task” she offered once they recovered from the laughing fit.
The two mothers looked at their kids with big smiles painted on their faces. “They’ll fall for each other eventually. I have a feeling”.
“Oh, most definitely” Y/N’s mom agreed.
“Sorry I called you dumb, I was joking” she told him before leaving his house.
“Y/N/N I know it was a joke, don’t worry. Besides, everyone knows I’m the smart one in our friendship” he teased.
“Literally no one believes that” Y/N said, rolling her eyes. “I have the looks and the brains”.
“I hate you” he pushed her shoulder lightly, making her laugh.
“I love you too. See you tomorrow” she waved goodby after kissing his cheek.
“YOU ARE TELLING ME EVERYONE HAS BEEN PEEING ON THE TANK FOR YEARS AND NO ONE TOLD ME?” Y/N asked Jack in disbelief. They were on her room, she was lying on her bed, resting on her elbow and with her head on her hand while Jack laid on a made-up mattress next to her bed.
“I thought you knew! Why are you surprised, though? It’s not like you haven’t done it”
“I haven’t”
He sat up, eyeing her expression “No way. I don’t believe you. We spend hours on that tank”.
“I swear I haven’t” she told him truthfully. He furrowed his eyes “Not because I didn’t want to. I was just being respectful, but guess no one cares about manners anymore!”.
Jack laughed “And then you say I’m the dramatic one”.
“We are both the dramatic ones” she said. “I can’t believe the film is almost over. I’m going to miss working with you”.
“Don’t get all sad on me” he said, grabbing her hand. “We are still going to see each other. You’re my best friend, you are definitely not going get rid of me”.
“You promise?”
“I promise, Y/N/N. I love you” he said.
She sat up to hug him, and also to hide the blush that tainted her cheeks. “I love you too”
He looked at his watch and smiled. “Happy 15th birthday, Y/N/N”.
“Thank you, Jack” she said, hugging him even tighter.
“My mom and I got you something” he said excitingly, standing up to look for something in his bag. “Close your eyes!” she muttered an ‘okay’. “Don’t cheat!”.
“I won’t!”
“Okay” he placed a package on her hands. “Open your eyes”. It was a thin cardboard and it had the shape of a square. “You have to open it carefully”.
When she finally unwrapped the gift, she gasped at the recognisable cover. “Holy shit, Jack! You didn’t”.
“We did!”
“How?!” she said loudly. “It’s extremely rare, and the prices are also extremely high… oh god, Jack you didn’t”.
“You are worth it” he shrugged, as if it was nothing. He had no idea how fast her heart started beating when he said that.
She stared at the 1989 vinyl in awe. It wasn’t just any vinyl, it was the pink one. Being an special RSD edition, there weren’t many left. Jack knew how obsessed she was with that record—it also was her favourite album of all time—so he didn’t hesitate to buy it, nonetheless of the price.
The vinyl was special to Y/N, not because of its rareness, but because Jack got it for her.
“Thank you so much! It’s the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen”
Her smile was so wide and her eyes so bright that Jack swore he would buy every single thing she wanted if it meant he would get to see her like that.
That was the day Jack and Y/N knew they liked the other as more than a friend.
THE AVATAR SHOOTING ENDED AND SOON ENOUGH Y/N BEGAN SHOOTING FOR MARVEL. She was excited of course, it was marvel, but even if it had been a year since she finished filming Avatar, she couldn’t help but miss the homey feeling that set gave her. Most of all she missed Jack. They talked and hung out, but they used to spend the whole day, every day, for years, together so it clearly wasn’t the same.
After doing lots of stunts, she finally had a break, so she went to her trailer. She threw herself to the couch—she was exhausted and her suit was beyond uncomfortable.
“Holy shit you are Venus!” the familiar voice invaded her ears. She looked at him in surprise, then stood up and jumped into her friend’s arms. “Hey…”
“I missed you” Y/N whispered against Jack’s chest.
It was funny. When they first met, also on a Marvel set, he had been a very short twelve year old with an awful haircut. Now, he was a very tall and muscular seventeen year old with very nice curly hair. She once used to tease him about being taller than him, now she had to raise her head to properly look at him. They had grown together, and their bond was one of a kind.
“Hey… what’s wrong?” he asked worried, noticing the hint of sadness in her voice.
“I guess I’ve been feeling a bit homesick, that’s all” Y/N answered in a low tone. She closed her eyes when her vision started to get blurry from the tears, she definitely did not want to see her cry over missing him.
“You go home every single day?” Jack said confused.
“Not my homesick for my house… for the Avatar set… for you” she whispered.
“Y/N/N…”
“I know it’s silly…” Y/N said a bit embarrassed.
“Hey, no. Look at me” Jack told her, she instantly shook her head. “Y/N, please” his heart dropped when he saw the tears in her eyes “It’s not silly. Why did you think I came here? I know exactly what you’re feeling. I miss you like crazy too. Two days a week and facetiming is not nearly enough of you for me”.
Y/N smiled softly and relaxed a bit. Between filming, finals and being homesick, she felt overwhelmed. And now, being in Jack’s arms, felt like getting the fresh air she was desperately needing. Everything was becoming too much, and if she didn’t have a contract with Marvel, she probably would have quit. Not very professional of her part, she knew it, but she felt suffocated.
They sat on the couch, Y/N’s leg over Jack’s lap and head on his shoulder, while the boy had his arm around her shoulders and rested his head against hers.
“You don’t know how much I needed this. After this movie, I’m taking a break. Only interviews for the things I filmed, nothing more” she told him.
“That’s perfect, love. That’s what you need” Jack massaged the side of her head.
“You’re making me fall asleep, I need to go in a few minutes” she laughed, looking up at him.
Their breaths hitched at the closeness. Eyes so connected they felt like they were in a trance. Y/N couldn’t believe how pretty he was, she could admire him for the rest of her life. And he was astonished by how breathtaking she was, even with puffy eyes.
“If I were to kiss you right now… would it ruin our friendship?” he asked, so low he almost couldn’t hear himself.
“Only if you don’t feel the same way that I do” Y/N whispered back.
Jack’s eyes never left hers “And what do you feel?”
“That I’ve loved you since we were fifteen”
“Then our friendship is, officially, not ruined” he smiled.
And the moment they have been waiting for two years finally came. And it was better than they have ever imagined, like their lips belonged together and now that they finally were, they couldn’t pull away. Like some magnetic force was holding them together.
THE DAY OF THE VENUS PREMIERE ARRIVED AND Y/N WAS HAPPIER THAN EVER. Ever since she and Jack got together, six months ago, everything felt better. They weren’t a private couple, but definitely not super public. They shared pictures and tiktoks with the fans, but never talked about their relationship. So, when they walked appeared together at the red carpet, everyone was thrilled. They were definitely considered one of the “it” couples, and everyone loved them.
“Have I mentioned how gorgeous you look today?” Jack whispered in her ear as they walked towards the reporters.
“Only a hundred times” she smiled at him.
“Well, my goal is a thousand, so I have a long way to go”
“I might do the same, because you look extremely handsome. Could you stay in that suit forever? Wait- you also look very cute in your hoodies and tank tops, so scratch that. Wear whatever you want, you always look handsome” she sent him a wink. She absolutely loved complimenting him, because his cheeks always turned red and she liked being the reason why they did.
“Hi Y/N, Jack” an interviewed greeted them.
“Hi!” they both answered with big smiles.
“First of all, congratulations on Venus! That’s a big deal, having a film dedicated only to your character” the blonde woman said.
“Thank you so much! And yes, it was quite a shocker when they told me about it. I was scared at first, because we’ve entered a complete different era for the MCU and people are, with good reason, very attached to the original characters and critics can be a little harsh. But I am actually very proud of this movie and I hope the fans enjoy it”
“Do you have any more projects now that the film is over?”
“No, I’m taking a break for an indefinite amount of time. I’ve been through very emotional phases and it’s best for me to stop for a little bit. Stay at home, enjoy my family and friends… so yeah”
“I hope you are feeling better. It’s very understandable, though, you have been working non-stop for years! And you are so young”
“I am feeling much much better, thank you. You aren’t getting rid of my face, though, I still have interviews to do for Venus. And Avatar is coming soon too, so yeah! I’m actually excited for that, I miss the cast so much”
“You two worked together in Avatar, right?”
“Yes!” they both answered.
“You met there?” she questioned.
Y/N looked at Jack, telling him to respond. “Actually, no. We met on the set of Avengers Endgame!”.
The blonde interviewer’s jaw dropped “Wait what?”
“Yeah! I had a small role at the beginning. If you are a big fan, you might remember me. I’m the little boy on the bicycle who stumbles upon Ant man!”
“No way! Yes! You had a Justin Bieber haircut!” the interviewer recognized him.
Y/N chuckled, and Jack turned red “It was stylish at that moment!” he exclaimed.
“No it wasn’t! That hairstyle, thankfully, died on 2010” Y/N said.
“Whatever” he rolled his eyes while smiling. “She’s always bullying me”.
“Not true! I’m a very sweet person”
“Most of the time, yes, but you do bully me a lot”
“Stop playing the victim in front of the cameras, you aren’t fooling anyone” she laughed.
The woman smiled at their dynamic “You two are so cute! How did you get together?”
“Well, we have liked each other since we were fifteen-ish, but I guess we were too scared to ruin the friendship. Six months ago, he visited me on set, and I was feeling a bit sad because I missed him too much. We both confessed, and yeah, that’s pretty much it” she explained.
“She’s truly the best person in the world, and I’m so glad she bumped into me that day on the Avengers set” he said, a dazzling smile on his face.
“And we have to say thank you to James Cameron. He’s like our wingman” she said. “Anyways, thank you for being here and sorry for having to deal with us”.
“What? Thank you! It was so fun to interview you both. You make such a good couple and the love you have for each other is very evident. Congratulations on Venus and Avatar!”
“That was really fun” Jack said once they got away from the cameras. He leaned down to place a kiss on her lips. “You look gorgeous tonight”.
Y/N laughed “And you look annoyingly handsome”.
“Isn’t that a back-handed compliment?” he asked confused.
Y/N shrugged “It may have sounded like that, but I promise I mean it as a compliment”.
“Couldn’t you just have said ‘You look handsome’?”
“Oh so you are making your own compliments now” she laughed.
Jack shook his head “You are impossible” he laughed.
“I love you, Jack” she hugged him “Thanks for being here with me tonight”
He rested his head on top of hers “Tonight and always. I love you too, love”

GQ Magazine Interview (2024)
It’s about four hours before the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked, and the actor Jonathan Bailey, who’s playing the male lead Fiyero in the feverishly-anticipated movie musical, is busy… playing Lego?
“I’m currently constructing,” he tells me, “the Atlantic Ocean of a globe, which I'm building as I travel around the globe [for Wicked].”
In a sunny Santa Monica hotel, in the middle of a whirlwind international promo tour for Wicked—director Jon M. Chu’s screen adaptation of the megahit Broadway musical, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo—the award-winning star of Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers says that playing with Lego has become one of the things helping him stay centered. “Lego’s 18+ Adult level, that's what gets me going these days,” he says.
It is, after all, a high-stakes moment for Bailey. Fan expectations for Wicked are sky-high, and every detail of the project’s rollout has been the subject of intense scrutiny.
Even Bailey’s seemingly innocuous decision to wear shorts to a photocall for Wicked in Australia made waves, and photos of Bailey in black pleated shorts and a sheer black long-sleeved polo by Giuliva Heritage quickly went viral—the gams seen ‘round the world.
“The idea of a very relaxed, elevated day look is something I've always enjoyed,” Bailey tells me, about the fit. “And of course, in Sydney and down under, we should be showing down under.”
“It's funny,” he continues. “Sometimes, you feel like what you decide to wear chooses you. The waist, the cut of the trouser, the pleat, and the waist—it made me feel very elegant.”
When the photos spread on social media, comments sections buzzed with people wondering about Bailey’s leg workout. Inquiring minds want to know: how does the Winkie prince get those legs?
“Well, they should be dancing from a very young age,” he says, laughing. “It's encouraging your sons to dance and do ballet. I played rugby growing up as well, and I play a lot of tennis now. I did ballet for a good few years, and I think the way that the body responds to that and gymnastics, I think, that's the key… Lots of handstands and deep squats.”
Another moment on the press tour that’s already gone viral is a video where Bailey talks about a small travel mishap during pre-production, in which every part of his Fiyero costume wound up stuck in airport limbo—except the footwear. "There's an amazing photo,” Bailey teases in the clip, “that no one's ever gonna see of me, in nothing but my boots, which sort of felt right for Fiyero somehow.”
When I bring it up, he reiterates firmly: “Never to be seen.” But maybe, I propose, that photo finally makes an appearance in a future museum retrospective on his career, the kind London’s Victoria and Albert Museum does for Britain’s most iconic performers? “Literally, let's not get ahead of ourselves,” he says, laughing. “There'll be maybe some shed in the Cotswolds that will be some sort of weird relic to my former career. Maybe it will be laminated there.”
It’s been exciting to watch Bailey’s red-carpet evolution in the last few years. Early in his career, the actor mainly stuck to more traditionally buttoned-up suit-and-tie looks. But recently, there’s a newfound confidence and playfulness to his red carpet style, a willingness to flip some red carpet traditions—and a frisky inclination to show off that body.
Part of that confidence has to do with just how fit the actor is. “I probably am in the best shape I've ever been,” he says. But it goes deeper than that: “I honestly think it reflects a confidence in identity, in one's self,” he says. “You realize how important it is just to be completely yourself.”
“Jonny is a whimsical, mischievous delight, so we try to show that through his sartorial choices,” says Emma Jade Morrison, his stylist. “He is joyful and cheeky, with an old soul, so I love to modernize classic shapes through colors, materials and saucy bits of skin.”
For the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked last night, Bailey once again turned heads in an exciting ensemble—this time, in custom Versace, in a slinky, body-caressing chainmail shirt paired with immaculately white trousers, ruby-red slippers and a poppy boutonniere. (The cherry on top? A mischievous tuft of chest hair peeking out from that Versace shirt.)
“It was Donatella’s idea to allow me to wear the chain mail, the iconic Versace chain mail,” he says. “It's so part of the Versace DNA, and I wanted that DNA pumping around my veins tonight. It's a beautiful thing to wear.”
Bailey, who calls himself “obsessed” with the ‘90s, remembers the iconic image of Kate Moss in a Versace chainmail dress from 1999. “The thing that I remember is the way that it clings to the form of the body. It feels sculptural and sexy,” he says. “All I can see is the way she moved, [the way it] caressed every nook and curve and cranny… I'm excited to be celebrating nooks and crannies tonight.”
“From my moodboard, Donatella and her team honed in on two images of Errol Flynn and Cary Grant and put their iconic Versace twist on them,” Jade Morrison tells me. “We kept the shapes classic and the shirt a bit slouchy to stay true to Jonny’s style. There is literally no material as sexy as Versace chainmail and using chainmail felt like a princely nod to the Winkie Prince.”
“We loved the red slippers with the poppy—as Dorothy says, there’s no place like home, especially since the LA premiere was the weekend before Remembrance Day in the U.K.,” Morrison continues. “Versace also made us a Winkie Prince bomber—a perfect ode to varsity jackets of the 1930s and something that Fiyero would absolutely wear himself.”
“That's the thing about Wicked, and that's the thing about Oz,” Bailey adds. “It's like visually and thematically so inspiring to so many generations that when you work with creators like Donatella, and you work with fashion houses who have so much to say and [we have] so much respect [for] and so much in archive that we feel so nostalgic about these fashion pieces, it's like everyone just goes off like fireworks. And you come up with something incredible.”
Last time Bailey and I spoke, we were doing a mini pub crawl through Manhattan’s West Village with his Fellow Travelers co-star Matt Bomer last year, to talk about their work on the acclaimed series. During that interview, Bailey talked about the tricky balance he had to strike in order to shoot Wicked, Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers simultaneously. Now, with the benefit of hindsight, he sees how the projects inadvertently informed each other—and emboldened him as an actor.
“I just look back on Fellow Travelers with such fond memories,” he tells me now. “The confidence in telling that story, I think, is actually present throughout Fiyero. Wicked is so about identity. The resonance of the themes is even louder I think on film... Playing Tim [on Fellow Travelers] just beforehand allowed me to sort of maybe expand the part in a way that I wouldn't have done otherwise.”
At Wicked’s Sydney premiere last week, Bailey experienced a full circle moment that left him in tears. “I sat with my sister, who’s based in Sydney, and had my two nieces watching it for the first time in front of an audience. And I felt a volcanic sense of emotion,” he says.
“Me and my sister went to the back and had a pint and we both just had a good cry. What Jon Chu has achieved in this film is exactly the sort of cinematic experience, that my whole entire family loved [when I was] growing up, and it's what inspired me in the first place to want to [become an actor].”
At 36, Bailey is a veteran of the stage and the screen—he’s stolen scenes in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s acclaimed pre-Fleabag series Crashing, held his own with Patti LuPone in a revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Company, and broken hearts in his award-winning turn on Fellow Travelers. But he’s hardly jaded and still finds himself overcome with emotion during various career milestones. “The wonder hasn't left me,” he says.
It’s that same wonder he hopes to impart to young viewers watcing Wicked. “The idea that some lads somewhere might turn to their mom and dad and go, ‘I really want to dance’? That's what it's all about.”
“And also,” he says, with a laugh, “they'll get bloody good legs in the process.”

Can Meghan even still have a revenge dress moment? Isn’t it too late for that? What makes Diana’s revenge dress iconic is the timing of when she wore it, plus that the dress itself tells a story. Meghan could’ve had revenge dress moments after they left the brf but the other ingredient is not present— the dresses she wore just aren’t “it”. Now, nobody cares enough for her to have an iconic moment. The only way I can see her having a revenge dress moment is if she and Harry divorce, because that would at least make some kind of splash in the news.
Personally, but I’m not sure if the pop culture gods agree, I think Kate’s gold dress at the Bond premiere classifies much more as a revenge dress. The dress was “it” and the timing of wearing just a few months (I think?) after the Oprah interview where Meghan claimed Kate had made her cry make it a revenge dress at least in my books.
Yes, Meghan can still have a revenge dress moment, but only if she ever divorced Harry.
She missed the boat completely on a revenge dress moment from Britain and the BRF (thanks, COVID!) and I think the window for a revenge dress on A+ Hollywood has also closed because it's painfully clear she was never "in" Hollywood to be able to take revenge on them for excluding her in the first place.
I can see why people would think of Kate's Bond dress as a revenge dress, but it doesn't classify as a revenge dress to me. Largely because Kate doesn't need to take revenge on Meghan for (trying to) smear her name, reputation, and future on Oprah. Kate's revenge for the Oprah interview is simply to live well and be happy/content with what she has. Her Bond premiere outfit is definitely an iconic pop culture moment for sure, and a reckoning, since it was the first major and "normal" glam event globally in almost 2 years. But not a revenge dress. Because why does the future Queen Catherine need revenge on her brother-in-law's toxic wife? Queen Catherine just needs to exist and said wife seethes with rage and jealousy, which is the best revenge anyone could ask for.

The Disappearances of Lydia Fountayne is a new audio drama! I (Grant) have been cast in it, I'm so glad you can listen and enjoy the first episode, and I'd love for this team to make more. Let's go through those points one at a time.
DoLF (DiLF if you're nasty) is a "magical surrealist" story about a young woman and her friends caught in adventure and intrigues they never imagined. It's about big data, surveillance, and the global, digital panopticon. It's about scheming uncles (I play one of those). It's about a talking bird. According to Dee, it's about Dee. You can listen to the premiere and learn more here
Today we announced the launch day watch-along premiere, set for Monday the 3rd at 6pm eastern, 3pm pacific, and 11pm for our friends in Ireland and Great Britain. Spooky. It will be on the Moonshot Podcast Network's youtube channel.
Our website also has a link to the Kickstarter campaign. That's how we get to make the rest of the story. It's also launching on Monday, and running for a month. Available rewards include advance access, outtakes, scripts, a suspicious envelope, and more. But the most important reward is making a full season of an independent, original, and exciting audio drama possible and viable.
So listen now, and listen again with us on Monday! I've been talking about this a lot on podcast guest appearances, and soon I'll be collecting those once they're all out. For now, I'll leave you with one last link to https://www.lydiadisappears.com/ and our video trailer:

Let's Talk About: A Meeting of Misfits
It's the season premiere of Misfits and Magic Season 2--and I'm recapping and reacting and being petty against those people who are hating on the show because of the franchise that must not be named!
Yeah, I'm not above being petty. Especially in service of something that's made to bring joy. So let's crack in!
Right off the bat, the new mechanics is throwing me for a loop. I think it's something we need to see in action to understand better. Which is pretty par for course in terms of tabletop role-playing games in general. I trust Aabria completely though because A Court of Fey and Flowers remains one of my favorite Dimension 20 seasons. And it's pretty unconventional when it comes to mechanics.
Starting with Lou/Whitney Jammer and having him roll consistent 1s… is making me miss the Intrepid Heroes who would've definitely grabbed his dice to throw them away. That said, I do love the Magical Misfits even though the original season didn't grab me as much as other seasons of Dimension 20. Probably because I watched it when I was already disillusioned with "the franchise."
But having said that--this episode was amazing at getting us up to speed with what's happened with the cast of characters we got to know…and, unsurprisingly, it's done a better job at establishing a sequel that fits the mythology (and characterization) of the original. Which I add because I read the accursed sequel of "the franchise" and wish I could turn time back for that to stop myself. Because it truly lived up to its title being cursed.
Moving on though, to something that's actually good:
Aabria sets up the stakes beautifully in this episode. Although some bits do go one a little longer than I would have liked, I do feel like the players were allowed to play more since there's only four of them. I get the feeling, based on Aabria's other work, that she's more cognizant of giving everyone time opportunities when the player group's bigger. Like in her other D20 episodes, or non-D20 projects.
I'm very curious as to where Erika plans to take K's storyline with, what I assume, is a devolution for her character? There's complexities in the beginning of her journey that I fully don't grasp yet…but I am excited to see where it goes.
Lou and Danielle choosing to keep their characters very familiar--while also having subtle hints at things having changed--is easier to digest for me. It may have been three years for the players, but it's only been a few months for me. (I watched the original season after Junior Year and before Never Stop Blowing Up.) And Lou and Danielle's decision to make their characters seem static is playing better with my brain. (This could also be the lack of sleep and headache talking.)
As for Brennan and Evan Kelmp… What do I say about his character choices that won't rile up the group of people who think Brennan is hogging the spotlight?
Now, I wasn't a fan of Evan Kelmp in the original season. But it wasn't so much because of Brennan's portrayal or the focus that was unavoidably given to him. Brennan made a big swing when he created a character that would help move the series along. But Misfits and Magic, the original season, only had four episodes. Of course it would feel like Evan got too much of the spotlight. There wasn't a lot to go around with. That being the case, his character was important then…
And it's important now.
Brennan's choices that made Evan who he is allows the other players to play the characters they want to explore without having to think of the plot. They can focus on the character growth they wish to get into. And… Honestly? Without the Evan-K romance? I think I'm coming around to Evan.
So overall? I think the season premiere of Misfits and Magic 2 is pretty solid. The episode had everything: we had catch ups, we had an after-school program, we didn't wave away any problems that arose from the original season…and are actually tackling them head on now, we have Britain's Got Magic while magic is actively becoming chaotic, we had Tony Danza, and we have a talking rock. With eyes and a mouth.
Because of course Aabria is going to bring in a new kind of magic to the dome. It's tradition.
So to the people who are writing the show off because they think it is celebrating "the franchise?" Joke's on you because you're the one missing out on a show that has a better plot and a better grasp on its world. And it's being improv'd on the fly.
And just to make it clear--I no longer support "the franchise" too. Because FUCK TERFS.

Hopelessness
@prongsfoot-microfic
It turned out that this microfic is 1600 words long, so if it's more convenient for someone to read on AO3, here's the link.
It's jilypad.
---
Sirius kisses Lily’s belly, stretched by a muggle T-shirt with Black Sabbath on it, his gift. The air's filled with the light scent of jasmine from the open window, letting in the cool June breeze. Lily isn't really into Black Sabbath, but Sirius hopes the band's symbolism might somehow influence Harry’s musical taste, since he’s got no hope with Lily and James. As Lily recently said, she wears that T-shirt solely because it features a "handsome vocalist" who reminds her of Sirius. Sirius is quite pleased with that outcome.
They're sprawled on a wide sofa under a soft blanket, Sirius snuggled up beside Lily. The quiet of the Potter home, only interrupted by the ticking of antique clocks, always puts Sirius in a peaceful state. Lily gently strokes her rounded belly, while Sirius, with his arm around her waist, draws patterns on her skin, occasionally leaving soft kisses in response to the baby's sharp kicks. James, sitting opposite in a battered chair once favoured by Fleamont, reads the newspaper, his eyes scanning the pages gloomily.
"Oh," Lily exhales lightly. "He's been kicking all day. Extra lively today."
"Harry," Sirius murmurs softly, amazed at the depth of feeling he has for a child not yet born. "My handsome, smart boy."
"When did you get so sentimental?" James asks, not looking up from his paper.
"Since you married this incredible woman and started your own amateur production of 'Tiny Humans.' Even my frostbitten heart had to defrost for the premiere."
"Oh, my love," Lily, smiling softly, reaches out to gently ruffle Sirius's hair, "sometimes I think, what if I'd married you instead of James? How much prettier would my child be?" Lily's light, carefree laughter makes Sirius smile.
"Hey," James perks up, pretending to be offended. "There’s a lot of Blacks. And only one of me. Harry's gonna have the most unique hair in all of Magical Britain."
"And the dullest sense of humour," Sirius shoots back, still focused on the belly, speaking in a teasingly sweet tone as if talking to Harry. "Hopefully, you’ve got a better one. You got a bit short-changed on the genes from one side, but I promise to teach you."
"At least my humour doesn’t make people want to off themselves," counters James.
"You adore my jokes, don't kid yourself."
"Haven't heard one yet."
Sirius flicks his middle finger at James, who just chuckles, then removes his glasses and rubs his nose bridge in mock exasperation.
"Everything alright?" Lily asks him, concern in her voice.
"Yeah," James replies, trying to mask the worry in his voice. "Just going to make some tea."
Rising from his chair and heading to the kitchen, James leaves a trail of unspoken thoughts behind him. Sirius watches him go, and Lily, with a soft sigh, shakes her head.
"He's like this all day. Lost in thoughts about the war. Sticks to me like glue. Fancy taking him out somewhere? Hit a pub? Even stay out all night. He needs to get out more. He can't keep guarding me from God knows what," Lily adjusts a stray lock of Sirius's hair, a simple, familiar gesture.
"Alright, but not tonight," Sirius responds tenderly, kissing Lily's belly one last time before gently running his hand over her soft skin and carefully standing up from the sofa to not disturb her.
"Patrol?"
"Yeah," Sirius glances at the old wall clock, "and I'm already late."
"Why don't you move in with us?" Lily stops him with the question she poses every month.
"Don’t start," Sirius says with a light reprimand. "I'd end up covered in old people's dust here, sipping teas and reading newspapers. Tea? Seriously? When was the last time I drank tea?"
Her laughter, bright and full, fills the room, reflecting off the warm glow of the candles. She could easily shift from a pensive mood to mirth, and really, it took nothing to make her laugh. Lily was always so light, Sirius adored that about her. Like an autumn maple leaf playfully dancing with the wind – always ready to soar at the slightest breeze.
"Come here," she extends her arms, and Sirius leans in, allowing Lily to plant a tender kiss on his lips. "I love you," she looks at him, her gaze filled with care and tenderness, "Be careful."
"You too," Sirius smiles and ruffles her hair. "Look after Harry."
Stepping into the hallway, leaving Lily resting on the sofa, Sirius grabs his jacket from the coat rack and pulls it on, whistling a tune he caught in some noisy muggle café.
"James! I’m off."
James peeks out from the kitchen, holding a pack of tea.
"Not staying for tea?" he asks, knowing the answer already.
Sirius isn't much for tea, yet James has been offering it to him for years. In an attempt to make the drink more appealing, he once even started spiking the tea with Firewhisky. That gimmick worked for a while, but soon not even Firewhisky could dispel Sirius's irritation with the whole tedious, monotonous process.
"No, got patrol."
James looks slightly disappointed, tosses the tea pack onto a table cluttered with books and newspapers, and approaches Sirius.
"Lily suggested we should hit a bar," Sirius mentions.
James shrugs, adjusting his glasses absently.
"I can't leave her alone. Every time I go on patrol, you know it’s torture for me. I keep thinking something might happen, that they might attack our home, and…"
"I know," Sirius cuts him off. "That’s why I’m not inviting you. Just passing on Lily’s words."
James gives a soft smile, tilting his head slightly.
"You’ll come over on Friday?" he asks.
"Yes."
"And stay the night?"
"Of course."
James nods and hugs Sirius, pressing his face to his neck. Sirius leans into his ear, kissing it and breathing in the scent of earthy moss and the morning forest. James's scent always carried the notes of their moonlit adventures, as if his skin had absorbed the essence of those nights. They stand in silence for a moment until the soft hum of an old radio playing a vintage jazz tune Lily adores drifts in from the living room.
"Everything will be alright, James, hear me?" Sirius whispers, probably a bit too roughly patting James on the head as his movements have grown more abrupt lately. "I promise. Everything will be alright. With Lily, with you, with Harry."
"Yes," James says, rubbing an eye then running a hand through his hair. "Of course. It'll be alright. With you too."
"I'm not that important."
"Don't talk like that," James responds in a strained voice.
"I’d do anything for you, whatever it takes," Sirius says in a matter-of-fact tone, as if they’re discussing a Christmas dinner menu, not talking about things people usually don’t say to each other when everything’s fine.
James steps back, looks up at Sirius, and smirks, chasing away the worried shadows from his face.
"Have I mentioned you’ve become sentimental?"
"I've spent too much time around a mushy sod like you," Sirius grins, shrugging. "Bad influence."
James laughs, shoving Sirius's shoulder then pulling him in close, as if wanting to hide away in Sirius's broad embrace.
"I love you, you idiot," he kisses him, fingers threading through Sirius’s hair, tousling it. "Don’t be late on Friday. Lily’s making your favourite blueberry pie."
"I won’t," Sirius breathes out huskily.
James nods, and Sirius steps out the door. The June air hits his face, a warm breeze flicking a lock of hair from his forehead. The scent of night flowers mingles with the smell of fresh paint – someone nearby decided to give their fence a fresh coat.
Sirius moves a few meters away, casting one last glance at the Potters' house. James stands in the doorway, leaning on one shoulder against the frame. Sirius catches his worried gaze and nods subtly in response.
A moment later, Sirius apparates, but James's troubled face lingers in his mind like an echo. Usually, James's face brings peace, but this time it leaves a quiet itch, a reminder that Sirius is missing something, yet can't quite grasp what it is.
The war makes everyone nervous, anxious, and lost, and Sirius knows better than to succumb to these draining sentiments. But seeing those feelings in James – the person who made Sirius believe that even in the coldest winter, there's an unbeatable summer living inside him – Sirius realizes things are grim.
Of course, Sirius will come over on Friday. Perhaps he'll stay for the weekend, and they'll spend it together, like old times, before the threat of war knocked so clearly on their doors. They'll wake up to a late breakfast in the garden, reminiscing about school under the rustling of green leaves and birdsong, and perhaps even making plans for the future where the war is just a distant memory—a future where Sirius already knows exactly how to raise Harry and what gifts to give him from the very first months of his life.
A future where they're together.
After breakfast, they'll apparate to the lake, where James will set up broom races, beating Sirius yet again. Lily, always rooting for Sirius, will put on a theatrical display of disappointment and spend the day cheering him up, recounting for the hundredth time the tales of James's rare Quidditch misplays at Hogwarts—as if Sirius didn't already know each one by heart.
After dinner, James will suggest a game of wizard chess, and Lily will pick out a book to read aloud by the fireplace. Soon, she will head to bed early, as has become more common since she got pregnant, and James and Sirius will go out to the garden, lie on the grass, and spend the night forgetting all worries, remembering that it's moments like these for which they're fighting and ruthlessly suppressing the hopelessness that seeks to consume their souls.

The Chilling Reason You May Never See the New Trump Movie
This week I finally got to see “The Apprentice,” an absorbing, disturbing movie about the relationship between the red-baiting mob lawyer Roy Cohn and a young Donald Trump. The film, which was received with an extended standing ovation and mostly appreciative reviews when it premiered at Cannes last month, is a classic story of a mentor and his protégé, chronicling how Trump first learned from and later surpassed his brutal, Machiavellian fixer.
. . .
Unfortunately, you may not get a chance to anytime soon, at least in the United States. Distributors have bought the rights to “The Apprentice” in Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Japan and many other countries. But the filmmakers have yet to secure a deal to release it here, either in theaters or on streaming services.
Negotiations are ongoing, and domestic distribution could still come together. Yet the possibility that American audiences won’t be able to see “The Apprentice” isn’t just frustrating. It’s frightening, because it suggests that Trump and his supporters have already intimidated some media companies, which seem to be pre-emptively capitulating to him.
