There are some names in design that will endure long after their life has ended and, one of these such designers is Georg Jensen. Originally a sculpture who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Jensen built a name for himself in the early 1900s by producing silver that captured the spirit and essence of the art nouveau movement. His designs were always of the highest quality and were just as sculptural as they were practical. This piece is a pierced sugar sifting spoon and was hand forged in Denmark from solid sterling silver. It features a handle in the form of a delicate unfurling pea pod and, despite its naturalistic design, has the rather uninspiring pattern name of ‘No. 21’.
