The more time they all spend together, the more his roommates are slowly starting to drive him insane. It's not because Charles and George turned out to be assholes after the first few weeks. No, they're both still as nice as ever. They're just… pining, which is much worse, in Yuki's eyes.

What makes it even worse is that Charles and George aren't even pining for each other. Oh no. They are pining for Pierre and Alex, respectively – but Pierre and Alex don't seem to realise that. They just pine right back, because they for some reason believe that Charles and George are dating.

How they are missing the obvious longing looks, Yuki has no idea. All he knows is that something has got to change around here, or all four of his flatmates are in danger of being thrown head-first into the Seine.

AKA: misunderstandings in the loft are at an all-time high. What will it take for it all to be sorted out?

o dear. so, uhhhhh, this is... multiple weeks late, and i am so sorry about it 😅 i have this bad habit of seeing an ask game, getting really excited and reblogging it, then answering the first few asks i get in a happy flurry... only to get distracted by something or other else and forget about the other asks i've still got. and then they just sit in my inbox. for weeks. 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲 sorry asks i have not forgotten about you (today). let's do this thing! 😘

SO. charleste. hmmmmm. well. let me open this by saying that i am very grudgingly becoming fond of este. he's such a little bitch, yeah, but somehow also so awkward and tall and oddly endearing and just... yeah alright you can stop cackling now, briony. the point is, i do indeed somewhat like esteban now.

so with that said: charleste. hmmmm. well. i do admit that they have some potential for some form of childhood friends to lovers thing - "charlot," anyone? buuuut... it's always felt rather one-sided to me. as in, esteban will talk affectionately about charles, and charles will be like "haha! yes but pierre..." sharl chose pierre in the pierresteban divorce, and he never looked back, i'm afraid. as this photo so perfectly illustrates:

LOOK at that, aksjsksbsksgsjhs. charles really said "yeah sorry pierre is the superior french top" and stuck with that. so in terms of ship dynamics... i don't really see it, i'm afraid.

welllll, no, that's not entirely true. i can see an au where charles is the CAUSE of the pierresteban fall-out. that "pierre stole este's girlfriend" conspiracy theory except charles is the girlfriend. and esteban has always secretly pined after charles, but soz babes, charles chose pierre and that was the end of that.

so yeah, hmmm, i guess i can do charleste... but one-sided. sorry este, i just started liking you - now you get to suffer 😘

final verdict: 6/10 for both their platonic and romantic dynamic. because like... there's potential, and i acknowledge that. but i (and charles) just think that piarles is vastly superior, tbh.

alright babe, you asked - and you asked with a proper cute gif - so you shall receive 😘

maxiel. hmmmmm. HMMMM. well. especially since we're racing again, it is no secret that i am the opposite of a verstappen girlie - but. i have to note here. there is a huuuuge difference between fic!max and racer!max. fic!max, i actually sort of... *sighs dramatically and glares into distance* like. fine, i like him. he just has such a fun voice to try and get into writing, you know? good old daddy issues... and likely repression... sprinkle in with a side helping of self-loathing, snark and sarcasm... yeahhhh that's a fun character to read/write.

as for the maxiel dynamic itself - it's also the classic good old sunshine and sarcasm pairing. daniel makes max smile and laugh when he usually never does that. which is proper cute and soft. but!! then there's also all the angst about danny leaving, so if you want to go that direction, you can also make them hurt a LOT. which is. well you know. there's a reason they're so popular.

and i have to say it - a lot of maxiel fic out there is pretty god-tier. not least your fics, briony -- you really DO get all the credit here, because like i say every time, you're the one who managed to actually get me to ship maxiel/tolerate max with Anonymous. and much as i scowl when admitting it, max in A Dog's Home still has a special soft spot in my heart 🧡

final verdict: 7/10, and at least two of those points are for your fics, briony. this is a ship dynamic i can definitely enjoy! i wouldn't necessarily go look for fic or content about them, but if i happen to come across it, i will very likely go insane about it.

oh this one is a great question! thanks so much my love ❤️ oof, but unfortunately i think you are not going to like what i have to say 🙈

unfortunately i do not vibe with romantic sebchal. at all. which is odd because i adore them both, but the thing is -- they're a mentor/protégé dynamic. and maybe it's because i used to tutor a bit in university, but any dynamic where one is some sort of a teacher and the other is a student/learning from them... it just squicks me out completely. i cannot do it i'm afraid.

it also probably doesn't help that my brain likes to put these drivers into pretty little OTP boxes, and both seb and charles are already in piarles and sewis respectively, so i struggle to ship either of them outside of that. just the way my brain works there - once i decide that a pairing is endgame for me, they have to be endgame always and forever. that's it.

final verdict: 9/10 for their platonic dynamic, because come on, i adore them both. also seb saying charles is the best driver he's seen in 15 years? my HEART 😭❤️ romantically, though, i'm afraid i'm going to have to give them 2/10. maybe 3/10 if it's a very au situation, but... yeah, not my cup of tea, i'm afraid.
