Best of 2018 Music #4: Kendrick Lamar and SZA “All The Stars”
Curated Soundtracks can sometimes be considered mixed bags. When one artist has control over what music can go into a film you either have Timberlake with Trolls or Lorde with Mockingjay 1. A mixed bag on all counts.
Kendrick Lamar got the task personally from Ryan Coogler on brining the world of TChalla beyond the African landscape into modern perceptions. With his eponymously titled album the world of the Black Panther now truly lived.
More than obvious in the video and song for All The Stars as he and SZA go through what many feel is a jam session and culture lesson all mashed into one glorious mold.
Most strikingly used in Black Panthers end credits. Hands down the best ever for an MCU film.
The stars were closer this year for Lamar and company.
Sum 22: Confrontation was definitely not new to Lamar, with the years most noteworthy video and visuals to back it up. Stars are closer.

Teen Wolf episode 6x07- “Heartless”- Observations And Predictions
Hello puppies and kittens, and welcome to week seven of My Tuesday Nights Make Me Crave Sleep, it's twelve-thirty, I'm hoping if I limit my distractions I can actually get this one done before my eyes start to sting, wich means that I shouldn't wast any more time on an intro~
Theo waking up in the mourge definately reminds me of Allion in 3B, when she had her heart removed (and hey, look what happened!) I don't really know why but just... the tone of it, I guess? It felt very reminiscent of that entire scene to me, and he DID have his heart taken out, and it looked like it was a black heart to me, wich I normally wouldn't speculate much about because, let's be honest, Teen Wolf's lighting department seems to be like one dude with a lamp on the BEST of days, it's highly possible it was just normal old red blood that the darkness of the screen made into black, but ... there is a reason I bring the question up, in Once Upon A Time a black heart represents evil, evil deeds stain your heart, and OUAT isn't the first franchise to take the "blackened heart" thing so literally as far as I'm aware, so could Teen Wolf be showing us Theo's true evil? Could it come up again later? Possibly... we know the heart belonged to his sister, but if they go this route then wouldn't Theo's evil have "corrupted true good" by turning her heart black? .. Unless his sister wasn't as innocent as we were told...
I'd also like to mention that this is Theo's personal hell, from what I can gather, it's supposed to be an example of what he went through when he was underground, wich is pretty much identical to the concept of "personal hell" in American Horror Story, where you live the same moment over and over and over again for eternity, for Cordelia it's being abused by her mother, for Queenie it's working in fast food and being disrespected, for Misty- in possibly the cruelest fate ever- it's being in a classroom forced to dissect frogs, etc etc, no matter what it is, it's the same thing that happens on loop for eternity until you pull yourself out (*sigh* My poor Misty...) that's basically what's happening to Theo here, his worst nightmare, being played out on loop for eternity... wich really makes me wonder, if he was more willing to go back to THAT than become a Ghost Rider, how bad must being a Rider POSSIBLY be? He makes it very clear that he'd rather go back to having his heart ripped out by his creepy sister on loop for eternity than join The Hunt, so something tells me that joining up means a fate worse than just riding around collecting souls for eternity.... there's something else there, something more horrific, we just don't know what yet
Now here's a "fun" question: Malia says that she, Scott, and Lydia "all remember Stiles", but do they really? Do they remember STILES, or do they remember that Stiles EXISTS? Because so far everything we've heard concerning him is just really genaric stuff that could be said about pretty much anyone, the only indication we get AT ALL that they remember Stiles as a PERSON and not just remember KNOWING someone named Stiles is when Lydia was in his room but I feel like that's more of a banshee thing than a memory thing, Theo's recollection, in what LITTLE we've seen of it, just seems to be more .. well... MORE... it has more muchness to it, the other three though, their memories haven't been shown to have any muchness at all yet, wich seems weird as they should have been able to remember him in full- if they do like Malia says they do- for two full episodes now yet not one of them ever makes ANY comment or allusion to him outside of a very genaric reference...
This has nothing to do with meta but it's both hilarious and tragic that Theo references Scott and Liam as Mom and Dad, hilarious because fandom has been saying that about Scott and Stiles for ages now.... and tragic for the same reason because excuse you you couldn't have slipped that reference in when the REAL Pack Mom was around Teen Wolf? Ah well, beggars and choosers and all that (this is just another prime example though of why the Sciles feels were hitting me hard during the "We have to find Stiles" thing though)
So back to meta, we now have confirmation that wherever Theo was, it was the Skin Walkers who were responsible, wich leads me to believe three things:
1. He was not in hell 2. The Skin Walkers have some use/control over interdimensional travel/other worlds/mirrorverses/whatever you want to call it (thus how he was living underground for three months) 3. I believe Theo was in something of a coma, his personal hell wasn't a real place but just a mental warp, we know that Skin Walkers can connect to people on mental levels that seemingly no one else can so it doesn't surprise me that they would use that power to give someone an illusion of whatever their personal hell is wile their body is left in the dirt (literally)
It DOES make me wonder though, on a moral level, why the Skin Walkers feel so obligated to the Kira, I mean if all of this is right and they DIDN'T just gussy up her sword like we first thought they did, then they're doing an awfull lot to get her in their clutches, why? Why do they want to train her so badly? What's in it for them? It's mentioned that Kira would become one of them but how can she be both a kitsune and a Skin Walker? It's all very odd... very, very odd.....
I'm so happy that the sheriff is finally starting to believe, finally after all of this time... I'm glad he goes against the grain- even against his WIFE, real or not- to say he wants to look into it, thouhg I do have ONE question, pod-Claudia mentions the people owning the house before them "did some crazy things", I mean I know that could have VERY easily just been Claudia telling a lie but what if it wasn't? What if it was a subtle reference to Stiles and the sheriff living there before "Claudia" and having gone through a bunh of "Crazing things" because of the supernatural? Not that it changes anything but I thought it was an interesting thought to bring up anyway
Aw man and I just want to take this moment to shout out to whoever thought putting Theo on a leash was a GREAT idea because it was, it was a GREAT idea
So the thing about Peter's skin slipping off of his body, I've seen that before, and no I'm not talking about werewolf transformations, I'm talking about in THIS exact context: HEALING, with death and rebirth coming together and all of that other fun, weird, stuff, namely, it was in X-File, in season seven, "Deadalive", Mulder comes back to life after having been abducted by aliens for a few months by- you guessed it- shluffing off is skin- his literally dead skin- and coming out all sparkling and new underneath it, I find this significant but I'm not sure why just yet... I tried to look into the background behind Deadalive and tried looking into the details but unfortunately I couldn't quite grasp anything in particular but I'll keep it in my back pocket for the future because I KNOW it's significant somehow...
Seriously though why has the nine herbs thing never been a thing? So far that's twice in the last two episodes that they've brought someone back from the dead, you'd think that would be kind of important all things considered... I mean, think about just HOW. MUCH. it's already done in only two episodes, why do hunters not have pouches of this remedy strapped to them from head to toe?
So the cool thing is about this Claudia question.. I actually went into detail on it aleady riiiiight about here, so I'm just going to let everyone read that rather than rehashing it again at five in the morning http://asagimeta.tumblr.com/post/155710128096/i-gotta-admit-i-wasnt-expecting-claudia-to-be
So as far as we know the pack still has the ghost rider's gun right? Tell me THAT'S not going to be significant later (also, quick note, for the rest of the meta I will be referring to this one singular rider as Danny Phantom, because it's easier and I can)
I'm so proud of the sheriff for telling Lydia "I'm listening" though, if Stiles could see him now... up... until he stopped believing again but still!!
I also just want to point out quickly that I find it really cute how thrilled my mom that Mason has a power now, I'm still here waiting for magic!Stiles but apparently Mason has The Sight (and you can try but you will never take that away from me now) and that's good progress anyway
So we learned something very important about how the Hunt actually works tonight, in that apparently the theory is true that the Hunt doesn't ACTUALLY make things dissappear, they just cover it with invisibility cloth so that most people can't see it, unless you have whatever power Corey has, and now Lydia, although I believe Lydia's reason for being able to sort of see Stiles' stuff has to do with a combination of banshee power and her beleif in Stiles existing to begin with, but still, the fact remains that she and Corey have this in common, wich makes me feel more than ever like Corey's powers are connected to the Hunt... or possibly to something to do with mirrorverse, after all he can turn invisible, I wonder if that has anything to do with being on another dimensional plain of existence from everyone else? So he can opt to basically hang the "Do Not See" sign the Hunters usually use (or one like it) around himself whenever he wants...? Still, the fact that the "If you believe it/touch it/force it back into reality it becomes real again" thing makes alot of sense, but it still makes me wonder about Stiles' room... even if all of his stuff is still technically there (although how is his jersey there when we saw in episode one that some other kid was wearing it?) the room was still undoubtably behind a wall- and on the wrong floor of the house for that matter, that can't simply be due to the Hunt induced blindness can it?
To be honest I'm actually really glad that the Hunt isn't really afraid of Parrish, but rather that they were just trying to communicate with eachother, I think it makes alot more sense in general
I wonder if the fact that this dimensional rift being in the preserve means anything... I mean so much supernatural crap HAPPENED there you know? Everything with the Hale fire, the first time Peter died, Laura is burried there, atleast two people that we know of were bitten there (Scott and Jackson) the NEMETON IS THERE, I mean... these are just a tiny handfull of many, many things... and it begs the question: Is the dimensional rift there because of all of the supernatural activity, or is all of the supernatural activity happening there because of the dimensional rift...?
I would also like to point out that once again Peter says "Humans can't get through" (the portal) but he never specifically says Stiles can't... I believe this is the third time Peter specifically says "Humans can't get through", if it is then we already have our pattern, even if it's only the second time then we're only one away from the pattern, I just... I so badly need magic!Stiles to cross through the portal safely because he's magic... the set up is so perfect, so juicey and amazing, and I just... it could be so amazing!!! I believe in it, Stiles will get through the portal because he isn't human (please Jeff...)
What I really want to know though is how Danny Phantom can suddenly speak English, wasn't he JUST speaking Hunter Gurgle at Parrish a few seconds before...??
I also want to point out that they really are reinforcing Malia being Peter's daughter all of a sudden for some odd reason, I'd like to know why, they've had about three seasons now to reinforce it and they've kept it pretty much quiet until now, only directly referencing it a couple of times between Peter and Malia themselves, and now all of a sudden those two are yapping up this father-daughter thing and it just ... seems suspicious.... and "I'll get you a new anchor" may sound like a funny line, and it is, but I wonder if that isn't more significant too... I wonder if Malia really WILL be getting a new anchor before Stiles gets back, or even maybe after, as a way of showing that she's grown, maybe something inspired by Peter somehow, maybe Peter will sacrifice himself in an attempt to save her/protect her and ~the undeniable power of human love~ + family + selflessness and bravery will become her anchor, like a patronus, that one memory will be her new anchor... I'd actually kinda like that
So why did Danny Phantom seem afraid of Dug? I mean we know that Dug eats him but here's this supposedly ~mystical and deadly Ghost Rider that no one can get a leg up on~ and he sees Dug and all of a sudden he can tell the end is near for him, it makes me wonder.... the last time they met, was Dug the predator, or the prey, in the last exchange he had with Ghost Hunters...?
I also talked about Dug's purdy new green eyes over here http://asagimeta.tumblr.com/post/155710128096/i-gotta-admit-i-wasnt-expecting-claudia-to-be so you can read about what him being a temporary Ghost Hunter/false chimera means there, aaand to sign this off I just want to let everyone know that the last note on my scratch pad when the episode ended read as follows: "NO DUG NO DO NOT LASSO THE TINY GAY" "Damn it Dug"
