CW: (Consensual) Drugged Sex, Breeding Kink, Daddy Kink, Creampie
📝 W.C 737
You found Brian two years ago, at a comic book café. You were immediately enamored with him so you befriended him and eventually became roommates. He lets you run experiments on him and even modify his body. In return, he gets whatever he asks for. You have more than enough money to give him his rewards.
After today's experiment, he's feeling a loopy and an unnatural amount of confidence.
"You said you wanted me to take you to a fancy restaurant, right? Do you want to wait until tomorrow?"
"I changed my mind.." He sits up. "I want somethin' else."
You tilt your head. "What?"
"Want you to breed me.." He looks at you with a demure expression, a slight grin on his face. He's had this fantasy about you for a while, and thanks to him being well out of his right mind he shared it with the subject of his dreams.
You pause, growing hard. "You want me to do what?"
Brian pulls his shorts off, leaving him in his boxers. "Please?" He asks sweetly. "Want you to fill me up..."
You know what they say about drunk words...
You pick Brian up, knowing the medical table won't be able to support both of you, and bring him to your room. You drop him onto the bed and undress yourself as quickly as you can.
Brian pulls his boxers off and tosses them elsewhere, fingering himself while you get rid of every garment on your body.
You climb onto the bed and move his hand away before you spread his legs. "I'll make sure you can't walk after this." You slide into him, savoring the way he moans and the visual of how deep your cock is inside him.
Brian lightly presses his hand on the bulge, a cute expression on his face along with a dark blush on his cheeks. "So big.."
You hold his waist and slowly thrust into him, getting him used to the feeling.
"Faster-" He breathes out.
You dig your nails into his waist and go faster as requested.
Brian's eyes roll back as he moans wantonly, already about to come. "Yes~!" He chants over and over.
You bring him into a kiss, pounding into him viciously as he comes. With your constant thrusts, his orgasm feels never ending.
You pull away from the kiss and move to his ear, nibbling at the outer part.
"Aah~! Bre- breed me~!" He gasps. "So guh- good~!"
You bask in this new side of Brian, a whorish side. "Don't worry, baby, Daddy'll stuff you full of cum." You press a kiss to his ear. "I can go for hours." You've always wanted to make your partner feel good and you also have a bit of a thing for breeding, so you managed to get your sexual stamina higher with science. You've also made it so you produce more cum than the average person, so much more that if you come inside someone a few times they might end up having a bump in their stomach.
Brian moans. "Please~!"
You pull out and turn him onto his side, lying next to him and sliding back inside him. You nip at his neck, your hand playing his nipple. Brian places his hand back on his stomach to feel your cock poking it with every thrust.
His eyes roll to the back of his head, a drunken grin on his face. “Daddy~!” He cries out. “‘M co- coming~!”
The drug you used to sedate him earlier might've made him more sensitive, or he's just a naturally sensitive slut. Brian leans back onto your shoulder, legs shaking as he squirts. He lets out an inebriated giggle as you keep fucking him.
You don't stop moving. “Good boy, taking it so well.”
Brian whimpers happily.
“You’ll look so pretty once I’m done with you, Brian.” You kiss his neck, your hand moving down to rub his little dick.
“Ah-” Brian moans, shivering from your touch. “Yes- yes-” Brian tries not to come again but ultimately fails.
“Mmh- More~!” He exclaims, not caring for the fact that you're still pounding his poor sensitive hole. All he wants is to be bred, nothing else really matters.
You thrust into him a few times before spilling your seed inside him. Brian can feel how thick your cum is, the thought of it making him excited.
You fill him up so well.

In that case... You decide to ask the PCs out after they've been humiliated by any of the ROs?
(A/N): Aaaaah, first time writing for the playable characters, but I think I did an okay job. Thank you for requesting, I hope you’ll like it!
+ The art isn’t mine. It’s from aripng on Deviantart! Go check their stuff out!
Amira Rashid:
Amira was known to be a bold, charming and fun person, and you’ve always loved to hang out with her at all times. Her competitiveness would often bring out a side of you you never thought you ever had: with her, you feel like you can achieve anything you set your mind too… and you also feel like you’re right where you’re supposed to be.
It didn’t take long for you to fall for her, that’s for sure. She’s just so confident in everything she does, it’s one of the many things you admire about her. And right now, as you’re about to ask her to go to prom with you, you wish you had has much strength and courage as she usually has.
The fact that she looked like all life has been drained from her eyes when you finally found her that day made you rethink even asking her if she was going to the prom at all. She didn’t seem sad, but rather embarrassed, you know that by how her fire hair is sulking along with her shoulders. This happens every time she’s about to win a game against someone and then immensely loses, though half of the time she manages to give out a genuine smile a few minutes later.
“Amira?” Your voice manages to bring her attention to you, though you can feel the anxiety rising inside your chest when she sets her eyes on your form. “Are you… okay?”
“Meh, just got rejected by Damien, no big deal.” While she seems to straighten her back and give out a genuine smile after those words; you, on the other hand, feel like sulking on the floor. “What about you?”
“O-oh, well, I wanted to ask you something, but…” You rapidly shake your head and turn around, your feet dragging you elsewhere. “Nevermind.”
“Hey, wait a second there, sweet cheeks.” You feel the heat creep up on your cheeks at the nickname, shy eyes looking back at a worried frown settled on her face. “You know you can ask me anything. Come on, do tell.”
You shyly play with your hands, not noticing her lips stretching out into a smile.
“I’m not gonna let you leave before you do, you know?”
“W-well…” You take in a large breath, trying to find that courage she brought out of you so many times before. “I was wondering… if you would like to go to the prom with me?”
Her expression quickly changing to a shock one is enough to make your heart skip a bit in a panic.
“If you don’t want to, that’s totally fine! I just really like to hang out with you and thought it would be fun to spend that night together, but… but like I said, I’m fine if you don’t want to-”
“Aye, shut up for a minute so I can talk, alright?”
The heat rises on your face and you hide it with your hands in embarrassment, believing that you’ve ruined all of your chances now; maybe even your friendship. Though your eyes rapidly flutter in surprise when you feel her pat your head.
“That was adorable, (Y/N).” You give her a confused look, not sure how to interpret the smile on her lips. “Sure, I’ll go with you. I thought I’d have to spend that night alone, but having fun with you sounds like a great plan.”
A huge smile breaks out of your lips. “Really?”
She gives out a chuckle. “Yeah, of course.” She gives you a wave just as she walks away. “I’ll pick you up at six, alright?”
As usual, Amira makes you feel like you could take over the world.
Brian Yu:
People you meet at your school either scare the crap out of you or makes you incredibly nervous all the time, mostly because they’re either very threatening or always do dumb shit that almost kills you just because they can. Needless to say, your everyday life is very stressful, and Brian is the only one who manages to bring you some sanity when everything feels like falling apart.
He probably hasn’t noticed; the guy’s almost always sleeping or zooming off when you’re hanging out, but he’s just so chill and so calm, the whole atmosphere around him always makes you feel safe. You could stand under a tree and stares at clouds with him for hours, with no need to talk about anything at all.
He’s just perfect like that, and you often wonder if he ever sees you the same as you see him.
Until one day, he proves to you that he has, in fact, never seen you that way, and thus by simply asking out Miranda for prom out of nowhere and in front of everyone. Needless to say, she did not replicate his feelings, nor did she reject him in a nice way, and so now you’re forced to pat his back with your own broken heart while he silently engulfs food for his own comfort.
“I’m sorry to ask you this, but…” His black eyes turn to you when you speak up, his mouth full of his favorite food. “Why did you ask Miranda out? You barely talked to her since I’ve known you…”
“Ah…” He blinks a few times while he gulps in the rest of his food, trying to find the right words to answer you. “I don’t know… she’s been talking about finding her prince, I thought I could be hers for one night.”
You stay awfully silent after that revelation, your heart aching while your mind race with things that could maybe cheer the one person making you happy in this world. You give out a small smile a few moments later, deciding to go all in.
“Well… how about you be mine instead?”
You can feel the heat spreading on your neck when he turns a surprised expression towards you. “Huh?”
“I-I mean… if you really wanna be someone’s prince for one night, you could have just asked me.” You look down at your lap in embarrassment, not being able to stop the next set of words from coming out of your mouth. “Because… I kinda already see you as one since you basically save me every day…”
Your breath gets cut in your throat when his fingers brush a strand of hair out of your face, your (e/c) eyes looking up to see him with a contented smile on his lips.
“If the prettiest princess is asking, then who am I to say no?”
You both love and hate how calmly he can say those kinds of things.
Oz:
Oz has always been the shy and mysterious person around, but after spending so much time with them thanks to your group of friends, you’ve managed to discover that they’re an absolute and adorable geek. You love how passionate they are with their hobbies whenever they manage to step out of the insecurity net they’re often trapped into, but you also just love spending time with them whenever you can. They’re very sweet and you just wanna do your best to make them happy, especially since they’re often anxious or depressed.
You know how horrible it is to feel those things, and so you always know to just be there for them and to remind them that you’re there for them. You’re always gonna be there for them, even if they break your heart in the process.
You always knew they had a crush on none other than Scott, they’ve told you once in a whisper at a night out with everyone. It hurt to know, it still does, but all you want is for them to be happy.
Today, they were supposed to ask out Scott for the prom and they were nervous about it. You understood why: you’ve tried to tell them about your feelings for a while but always bailed out because of your own anxiety. But for Oz case, they were only two possible outcomes: either Scott accepts to go to prom with them, or he rejects them in a nice way.
Turns out he rejected them in a nice way, and now Oz’s shadows seem to be sulking even more than usual as they stare at empty spaces.
“I’ll never find love.” The words rip your heart’s tissue apart, your fingers slightly crisping the back of their shirt. “I’m just good at being alone.”
“Don’t you dare say that. Don’t even think about it.” You grab their shoulders and make them look at you, your eyes looking for any kind of light in their black orbs. “You will find love, okay? And you’re not alone, I’m right here. I’ll always be here. Even if I die, I’ll come back as a ghost and haunt you.”
They manage to let out a small chuckle, but it sounds hollow and you can see the tears sprinkling in their eyes. “It’s kind of you to say those things… but we both know that no one will ever love me-”
“Someone already does!”Their eyes go wide in shock just as your fingers tighten their grip on their shoulders. “It’s me, I love you. I-I’ve loved you for months and I will always love you. And I don’t care if you don’t love me back, because I want you to be in my life… even if it’s just as friends.”
“You…” Their words barely manage to come out of their lips. “You love me?”
You free their shoulders, the heat creeping up on your cheeks another proof of the embarrassment you’re suddenly feeling after blurting your feelings out of nowhere. “Y-yeah…”
“Well… that’s… a lot to process…”
You feel a last amount of courage bubbling up inside your chest, the heat rising on your face. “Wanna… go out for lunch and talk about it?”
They blink a few times, then nods. “Yeah… Yeah, I would like that.”
You know they probably just want to talk so they can understand why you love them, especially since they tend to believe that no one loves them, but you’ll take it.
You’ll do anything to prove to them that they deserve love.
Vicky Schmidt:
For as long as you can remember, Vicky has always managed to bring a smile to your face. Her cheerfulness and her will to always do her best to achieve her goals and make others happy are what you admire the most about her… and also why you secretly love her so much.
You noticed how she would always go out of her for others, but almost no one would make sure that she gets some happiness back too… and since you weren’t too courageous enough to talk to her about your feelings yet, you decided to put anonymous letters in her locker. Not necessarily love declarations (though you do have left those), but just little notes to brighten her day or to make her feel better if she ever feels insecure about something.
Of course, she absolutely loves them. Every day, you could see that her smile was brighter, her eyes shinier and that she would laugh more than usual. It made your heart bursts with pure happiness and love knowing that you were the reason behind all of this, and even though it hurt that she thought Liam was the one behind all of this, you were happy for her.
And so, one day, you decided that you would tell her that you were behind all of this… even if she rejects you after it, at least she would know that you were the one who wanted to make her so happy in the first place.
The only thing is, when you finally manage to find her in a hallway, her usual happy expression has now turned to a devastated one, her hands grasping onto a piece of paper you remember putting in her locker the day before.
“Vicky?” She turns wide shocked eyes towards you, her expression not changing in the slightest. “… are you okay?”
“I-I… I thought…” She opens and closes her mouth a few times before she manages to explain what happened to you. “I thought Liam was the one sending me those letters, but… when I talked to him about it, he just… made fun of me!”
You kinda feel bad that she had to live through such a hard humiliation from the vampire, but you can’t help to let out a smile. “What made you think it was him?”
“I-I don’t know, this letter…” She looks down at the piece of paper, confusion spreading on her features. “It said…”
“To meet them here today, then you saw Liam and thought it was him?”
“Yes! Wait-” She squints her eyes at you. “How do you know that?”
Your smile stretches out, trying your best to ignore the heat on your cheeks. “I wrote the letter. And all the letters before that.”
“Huh?” She blinks rapidly before a wide grin spreads on her cheeks. “For real?”
“Yeah, I was-”
“Let’s go on a date!” It’s your turn to open your eyes wide in surprise when she suddenly attacks you into a tight hug, her words resonating inside your head. “That’s what you were gonna ask me: if we could go on a date?”
“Y-yeah-”
“Good! It’s settled!”
She gives your cheek a kiss before she runs out of the hallway, her giggle following her around. You just smile like a dumb person, feeling the butterflies spreading inside your chest.

What are the boys like when it comes to pining after their crush? (can include the color squad boys too)
Oz: Oz is, in a figurative and literal sense, made of anxiety and low-self esteem… So, he sorta pines from afar, daydreaming about his crush(es). The very idea of telling his crush that he likes them is just something he can’t wrap his head around.
Brian: Brian surprisingly pulls out all of the romantic stops when trying to win you over. Depending on what they are, they’re super effective!
Damien: It’s hard to tell if Damien’s flirting with you or threatening you. I mean, he tries to flirt, but it’s like he is unable of saying anything that isn’t violent.
Liam: Liam plays hard to get, trying to have his crush come after him… and yet he wonders why it doesn’t work. Like, come on, Liam! “Will They, Won’t They?” which is what playing hard to get will inevitably lead to, is such a tired cliché!
Scott: Scott... would actually be just as confused as you are when it comes to pining you. He’d ask you questions like, “How do I tell someone I like them?” Then he asks you to, “demonstrate,” or he’ll demonstrate on you.
Calculester: Calculester is forward. He is direct in displaying his affection toward you. The direct way is the best way.

some brian green headcanons ☆
the sleepiest boy, goddamn. let him nap, being alive is a lot of energy! besides, he’s undead, i think that deserves as many naps as he wants. a lot of people think he’s super chill or relaxed, impossible to faze. but nah, he’s just tired. amira, vicky and oz keep an eye out for him.
he’s kind of a caffeine addict. he has no real preference to how he gets that caffeine but he’ll admit he doesn’t mind people defaulting to coffee for him. it helps him stay awake in classes that aren’t more active either way. also he just likes the taste.
( actually, he’s a bit of a coffee snob, but still. )
no, he- he doesn’t need to eat people. do you even know where they’ve been or what goes into them? ew. he’ll take regular food any day. he’s got a soft spot for southern comfort food, for the record.
before classes start for the day and during lunch he often takes naps on his friends or lover while waiting for the day to officially begin once he’s eaten. he especially likes if you play with his hair while he does this.
he is very confident in himself! he’s a handsome guy, even with part of his face maimed the way it is. some monsters even consider that attractive, so hey! not to mention he’s buff (and very good at hugging), tall, and has a comfortable jacket that’s perfect for sharing. everyone knows sharable jackets is an important trait in a potential romantic partner.
that said, he’s easy to fluster with the most innocent of pda! hand holding? he blushes. kisses on the cheek? oh yeah. calling him cute lil nicknames? shit boi he dies. not literally, of course, but still.
he doesn’t like to talk about who he was before he died. it doesn’t matter anymore anyways. he’s brian now. he’d appreciate it if you didn’t ask, too. it’s something he can even get testy about.

Writing Meme
Tagged by @stellaseas
Author Name: Aspendragon for my fanfiction
Fandoms You Write For: Currently Lord of the Rings, but I’ve written for some anime/manga back in the day (Yu Yu Hakusho, Pokemon, Fruits Basket and Ouran High School Host Club to name a few).
Where You Post: Fanfiction.net for my older fics, I’m now delegating my newer and future fics to Archive of our Own and plan on posting original content to Wattpad because I need some accountability.
Most Popular One-Shot: I don’t write these lol.
Most Popular Multi-Chaptered Story: There’s my Fruits Basket fanfic Musouka which was written between the ages of 14-17 and is very cringe-worthy. Haha but I think my LotR Haldir X OC Fernweh is gaining traction.
Favorite Story You Wrote: Currently Fernweh to be honest although I have a Pokemon story that I had to freeze years ago because I had NO IDEA WHERE I WAS GOING WITH IT lol. It featured a trainer OC trying to make it in Kanto if Team Rocket won and Red lost.
Story You Were Nervous to Post: Fernweh because although I write fanfic almost weekly I haven’t posted fanfic since I lost steam on the one I began for ME:A which didn’t get much of a reader response from it so i was a little nervous getting Fernweh out.
How Do You Choose Your Titles: Choosing titles and names are favorite word games of mine. I only write Canon x OC fanfics so I always make sure the OC’s name compliments the Canon character’s name but she can stand on her own (ex. Leigh Anne is a very uncommon and even unheard of and that’s what I was going for to match up with Haldir. L and H also have an aesthetic appeal for me like S and A. Names also can’t end the same way like Jay and May. It’s odd I know). Then when the OC’s name is picked out I figure out what she’s doing and what she’s trying to do in her life and how she meets canon guy and try and sum it up in the title. Fernweh is german (the story is set in Germany) and describes a feeling stronger than wanderlust and Leigh Anne is at a point in her life where she’s kind of having a quarter-life crisis and doesn’t want to settle for what she has currently. It’s important the journey is implied and I’m afraid of being too heavy-handed with it.
Do You Outline: I write the first 2-3 chapters of any story to see if I like it enough to warrant the work of an outline. When I do I set up according to Brian McDonald’s “Invisible Ink” process and then brain-dump a bunch of ideas I love to write or imagine I would like writing on post-in notes to put into the outline.
Complete: Well….....................................................
Incomplete: Not counting fanfics I made before I graduated high school I have only 1 incomplete fanfic that is published (Fernweh) and 2 that I’ve started but I haven’t published.
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: When I’m close to or completely done with Fernweh (I’m aiming for March) I plan on publishing/working on a Pokemon Sword Player OC x Piers (appr. 25 hours of play was not enough and it needed so much more Team Yell and Piers!) and FFXV Ardyn X OC (but I need to replay FFXV and play Episode Ardyn). I’m also seriously considering a Witcher Regis X OC but the OC hasn’t formed properly yet.
Upcoming Story that You’re Most Excited to Write: I’ve already started an original story revolving around a young witch herbalist named Ellowyn with hopes of posting it on Wattpad sometime this month. I want to chip away at a more extensive outline before I go any further, but Ellowyn and her world is just my take on a fantasy world of humans, elves and orcs just trying to live life without too much drama. I’m hoping to keep it less than 30 chapters, but we’ll see.

CQ NEWS (Eddie DeYoung, AE7AA, Named CQ Magazine Awards Editor). A press
release, dated August 29th, from Richard Moseson (W2VU), Editor of CQ
Amateur Radio, reports the following: Eddie De Young, AE7AA, of Clearwater,
Florida, has been named Awards Editor of CQ Amateur Radio magazine, Editor
Rich Moseson, W2VU, announced today. His first Awards column appears in
the September 2019 issue. De Young succeeds Ted Melinosky, K1BV, who was
both Awards Editor and USA-Counties Award Custodian for more than 20 years.
CQ previously announced the appointment of Brian Bird, NX0X, as the new
USA-CA custodian.
De Young has been licensed since 1954 and has, over the years, held more
than two dozen call signs from 11 different countries. He spent 38 years
in the Pacific, Asia and Antarctica, including many in Australia. While
there, he served as Awards Manager for the Wireless Institute of Australia,
where he helped modernize the program and developed software to improve
award processing. He has also been on nearly a dozen DXpeditions.
Since returning to the United States, Eddie has worked summers for the
National Park Service as a park ranger at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
and at Glacier National Park in Montana. On the ham bands, he is active
via remote stations and with limited operation from his new apartment,
with 100 watts and a homemade fractal square loop on his balcony. Eddie
enjoys operating primarily CW and digital modes.
De Young says he plans to offer hints in his column on earning CQ awards
of all kinds, inform newbies how to get started on their award hunting
quests and share how much fun and educational award-chasing can be. Eddie
also says he plans to include occasional competitions, award nostalgia
and ideas from readers.
CQ Editor Rich Moseson said, “Eddie brings a world of experience from
all over the world to this position. As an avid award chaser as well as
someone who has ‘been the DX,’ he understands both sides of the award-
hunting equation and is uniquely qualified to help CQ’s readers achieve
the greatest possible success in their own award-hunting efforts. Plus,
as former awards manager for a national association, he understands the
administrative side of award programs as well. I look forward to working
with Eddie.”

SPECIAL EVENT (Highway to a DX Party!). The Citrus Belt Amateur Radio
Club of San Bernardino <w6jbt.org>, California, is once again hosting
(probably one of the most fun special event activities) the 20th annual
“Route 66 On The Air” special event between September 7-15th. The purpose
of this event is to offer amateur radio operators a fun way to “Relive
the Ride” of their own memories of Route 66, and to celebrate the highway’s
93rd anniversary. The U.S. Highway 66 established in 1926, was the first
major improved highway to link the west coast with the nation’s heartland.
Through stories, songs, and TV shows, the highway came to symbolize the
spirit of the freedom of the open road, inspiring many to see America.
Look for the following 20 stations (two are rovers) operating in or around
the major cities along the old “Route 66” from Santa Monica, California,
to Chicago, Illinois:

Lyrical Hearts (Part 9)
Synopsis: Post-What Can I Do/I Loved You/When You Love Someone Saga. Young K - Brian - Younghyun - whatever you wanted to call him - was known for being unknown. At least until you caught him and his band practicing late one afternoon. This is the narrative of your soft, tentative beginnings with the gruff bassist.
Pairing: Young K/Brian/Younghyun x fem!Reader
Genre: Romance. General? Acquaintance-to Friends-to Lovers?
Word Count: 2331
Listening Recommendations: Bolbbalgan4 - Some & ViVi - Everyday I Love You (Feat. HaSeul) & Hyunjin - 다녀가요 (Around You)
A/N: I’M BAAACK!!!! I went through a bit of a writer’s block-cross-plot muddle-up, but whatever. Thank you for being patient and I hope it’s good (??)
The Beginning || Part 8
It’s been a little under a week since your altercation with Haebin and so far, no repercussions. Maybe between your ferocity, Younghyun’s hand taking up permanent residence on your shoulder or Dowoon’s sudden close proximity to you, they’ve gotten the hint. So, honestly, you’d hoped that it would all blow over, everyone’s attention on the next episode of high school drama.
It’s Saturday and you’ve herded your history project partners, Sungjin and Wonpil, down to the library for some blissful quiet to work in. Contrary to popular belief, you’re one of the few people in the world who actually like group projects. You like sharing the load and bouncing ideas off one another. Maybe it’s only because you’ve had a good track record with your groups.
The three of you work fairly seamlessly, murmuring something here and there about Joseon architecture. You’re admiring Wonpil’s handwriting, fine and delicate the way he is, along with the swift, sentimental speed at which he thinks. The someone speaks, casting your name out in a whisper.
“You sure cut down Haebin, huh? Haven’t heard a peep out of her all week - Dowoon’s living the dream.”
You blink, following the source of the sound up to Wonpil’s kind face. “Uh, yeah. People are still giving me funny looks for it. So what, I raised my voice and got a bit angry.”
Sungjin surfaces and nods, humming in agreement. The days that followed entailed curious looks and awe-filled questions. You must have sounded like a broken record by the end of the week - you certainly felt like one. You scribble a writing idea down in your margin for later - mermaids are still cool, right?
“Why did you get so tense about it, anyway? A shut up would have done the trick.” Wonpil adds, fluffing at his fringe.
Your mind is quiet. He’s right.
You stop twirling your pen on the pages of your notebook. “I...I don’t know.”
Really, you don’t. As much as your works with Young K were true, the passion that fuelled it didn’t completely stem from the injustice you heard - you have never been that possessive and righteous. It wasn’t that serious.
On the way home, the sun just kissing the horizon, Wonpil takes a detour for his sister - her birthday is coming up. So Sungjin and yourself are the only ones at the bus stop. You’re still thinking, anything and everything irking you. Sungjin had a chuckle at your vague, but creased expression.
You look at him ever so slowly, straightening out your willowy pastel top. “Yeah? Did I miss something?”
“No, not at all. You just look like something is on your mind.”
Sure is. Your mind has since drifted from Haebin to Younghyun though. The various expressions that flit across his face in a day, each one just as interesting. An easy laugh that you’re happy you get to hear. The moments when you walk home that his fingertips brush yours. It hits you soft and hard, like a breeze tickling your cheeks and a punch to the stomach all at the same time. You curse, dark and loud.
“I think I might have a crush on your bassist, Sungjin-ah.” You mumble grudgingly.
Sungjin laughs, low and warm, puffing out your name on a disbelieving breath. “A crush, huh?”
You stamp your feet on the cracked pavement, kicking out at his shin. He curls forward and groans on impact. The sun turns his hair a kind red-brown, ruffled from the spring breeze.
“Don’t make fun of me!” You whine.
“Sorry. But I could already tell how you felt about him. You can’t hide your emotions very well.” He says, shrugging.
You lean against the side of the bus shelter, shock securing that blank look on your face again. You have been hiding them? This feels like a fairly recent development. A dramatic revelation. Sungjin is talking about this as if it’s been like that since the beginning. A gust of wind whistle through the shelter and between you but you don’t jump at it like before. The husky singer grins proudly at all of this.
“And what - what makes you think you know me?” You say thin, but lightly mocking.
“Didn’t you say it yourself? You’re an open book.”
That shuts you up again.
Oh, now comes the panic. When you get in, you fling yourself on your bed, denim skirt riding up horribly as you stare blankly at the ceiling. Truly, you are in some high school themed drama. How long have you liked him? Does he know? Is your new friendship the price you’re willing to pay for this?
[You] @stoneface-dan @somimimimi so, I like Younghyun?
[Stoneface Dan] And?
[You] so this really isn’t a new thing.
[You] HOW LONG?
[Somimimimi] a little while
[You] HOW COULD I NOT HAVE KNOWN?!?!?!
[You] HEY!!!
[Stoneface Dan] 😒 Shush. It’s easy to mistake fondness and affection as friendship. You’re just really bad with it.
[Somimimimi] yu hang out with him all break - is that not eough?
[You] I thought I was being a good friend! I was interested but also BORED because two of the most important ppl of my lives DITHCED ME.
[Stoneface Dan] Uh, no. You can’t pull that one on me. I offered.
[Somimimimi] 😭😭😭
[You] Shut up. You guys suck.
[Somimimimi] We thought you knew!
[Stoneface Dan] How can you not know yourself?
[You] THAT’S WHY I’M ASKING YOU.
You try and distract yourself from the running thoughts of Young K with homework due in, but after an hour and a bit of reading most of the same sentences over and over again, your usually flowing writing grinding to a halt, you toss it in. It’s late, but still relatively active outside. It can’t be healthy to think about this so much, nor try and study the way you currently are. So, ignoring the signs of the weather and the chill still nipping the breeze, you break for air, glad it’s a weekend. Pulling out your old bike and pedaling down to the riverside park, ignoring the potential for bugs. You didn’t usually go this far seeing as of course, bugs, but also the fact that it’s further than the park by the convenience store. How can everyone have seen it but you? These are your emotions after all. Your heart potentially on the line.
You don't know when you start missing his closeness - always standing by your side, close enough to touch, but not quite. The evenings spent dutifully walking you home, having him on speaker phone as you change - while you shimmy out of your school skirt, no longer feeling odd about the ignorant intimacy you feel.
That close, quiet conversation at night, whether it be verbal or written (if he’s on shift). Where you know about everything and nothing, including his debilitating crush from his previous school he still thinks about and your barren relationship history as well as your softest niggling fears from it.
When sharing his spoils of tardiness stops feeling funny. Or how easy it is to fall into step with him and tell him about your day - listen to him do the same with growing softness and light that his eyes bare.
Laughing because he is and feeling like you’re breathing in a whole new life every time. Knowing his music inside and out; that his songs are the same as your stories. Another language to some, his truth to you. Appreciating every note because they were all supposed to be called Younghyun.
Describing Younghyun as Youth. Endless laughter, sunshine smiles, moonlit hums, the thrill of summer.
You must not look very approachable as your walk your baby blue bike to your favourite bench. Aimed facing the river, right by the bridge, the Seoul city lights a twinkling cluster of vitality. A mix between a pout and a scowl resting on your face, you’re almost stomping along the pathway with shoulders of stone. You’re even more disheartened and emotionally charged when you see a lanky shape meeting you halfway. Wandering aimlessly, with his pale hands stuffed in his pockets, dark thick fringe hovering over his brows. Even you have to admit though - he does look good in green.
“Donghae.”
“Donghae.”
He looks up to shift his focus better, smiling a little as he says your name in greeting. “It’s really late. What are you doing out?”
“I could ask you the same.” You retort, with cautious side eye.
“But I asked first.”
You shrug, slumping a little on your hip. “I just needed some space to think.”
You plant yourself next to him after propping your bike against a tree. Looking at him in the dim light makes you a little uncomfortable. How his elbows rest on his knees and all his limbs reminding you of a praying mantis. His fluffy, windblown fringe evens out his sharp visage though, as do his patient doe eyes - nothing like the overbearing gleam to them by day - sorry, by Somi.
“Ah, I see.” He says nodding sagely. “Something on your mind?”
You shoot him a glare. What hasn’t been on your mind today? “Since when are you my therapist?”
“Since, you’re my dear Somi’s friend. Besides, you’re never this worried - it makes me nervous. I promise I’ll listen well.”
You eye him wearily, the silence stretching between you. He waits steadily and you think you’ve never seen him so quiet or still. Finally, you relent, knowing that if you didn’t he’d still wait - one thing you could give him was persistence. Anyway, what’s wrong with an outside opinion? You try as best as you can to make your story vague, leaving out identifying details.
The more you talk, the more you’re able to put together your thoughts and fears. Details start to slip with passion.
You squeeze your eyes shut. “I’m afraid of what he’ll say - what it will mean for our friendship. It’s so fresh and important to me. We worked really hard on understanding and discovering each other to get to where we are. I dont want to lose him.”
“There’s every chance you might lose him, whether you say something or not. Say something and it’ll either be happy ending or broken hearts. Scare him off to the hills and make it even harder to get back to where you both are now. A few words can change everything. But,” he holds your gaze, doe eyes gone and replaced with something far deeper and harder to describe, “say nothing and you may lose him to someone else without knowing how he felt. I’ve learnt that the unrequited, unknown heartache can be the worst of all. You won’t know Brian - uh, Young K’s thoughts unless you ask.”
“I guess Donghae - hey, how -”
“Everyone knows, isn’t that what you said?” He crips with a smirk on his full mouth.
You scowl and turn away from him. You feel the wood creak under you as he leans back, peering up at the sky, the city lights polluting the stars to invisibility. Only the waning moon is left.
“I know this stuff - why else do you think I confess to Somi? So I know I don’t have regrets.”
“But why so often?”
You glance at him, barely, trying to be discreet about your curiosity. His mouth pulls at a hazy smile, a pleasant sight on Donghae’s usually animated features. His head lolls to face you.
“So I always know how she’s feeling. Sounds silly to you because you’re her friend. She’ll always tell you her emotions. The same can’t be said for myself. And sure, right now there is no affection - it may never happen. Things change, though. I can hope.” The wistful tone to his voice is heartbreaking, a feeling you never thought you would have for the boy. “You don’t have to. But what have you really got to lose? Regret?”
You put a hand on his arm and draw him fully out of his thoughts. His lashes are startingly long as they flutter you into focus. A car beeps across the bridge and the river still ripples quietly. The wind, while getting warmer, still rips through you.
“Thanks Donghae. I do hope you’ll find someone who will love you.” You say gently, only broken by a shiver - leaving the house in your skirt and thin shirt was a bad idea.
“Me too. You’re cold.” He unzips his jacket, throwing it into your lap. “Put this on and I’ll walk you home. It’s late.”
You’re halfway back when you ask, “so, why were you out so late, Donghae?”
“To think about Somi. A little time to be wishful, a little time to be sad. At least before I got back to life and my quest to gain her heart!” He throws his fist in the air, something like an anime character.
You want to laugh - really, you do. But you can’t bring yourself to from the way your heart pulls for Donghae’s passionate love endeavour. Time for Somi. You screw your nose up to stem the sting in your eyes.
“O-of course.” You manage to choke out, trying to fall back into the same sarcastic, protective snarl from before. You can’t though so you add, “pro-tip - try being sincere - you don’t need to show off for her.”
He stares at you owlishly, trundling your bike for you on the roadside as you look away so he doesn’t catch the emotion in your eyes.
You thank him greatly for walking you back and insistently shove the jacket back into his hands. With a smirk and a firm good luck, you see him off. It’s not until his figure wanders to the bottom of the hill that you let your bright visage crumble for him, swiping roughly at the tear or two that escapes.
Donghae is right. Better to confess and not regret than pine and wonder and wait until it’s too late, being forced to let him go.
Soon, you tell yourself. Soon.

For the week of 2 July 2018
Quick Bits:
Ant-Man & The Wasp #3 is another fun issue in this mini as Scott and his tiny alien friends try to come up with a way to rescue Nadia. I’m still highly impressed by Javier Garrón’s art on this series, as it continues to push inventive designs, combined with Israel Silva’s bright, bouncy colours.
| Published by Marvel
Astonishing X-Men #13 begins Matthew Rosenberg and Greg Land’s run on the title and it’s very well done. It kicks off what looks to be Havok’s redemption arc, but the road is very rocky and unlike say, Magneto or Sabretooth, he’s not being given too much slack from his former compatriots. This first issue has a good deal of Rosenberg’s trademark humour and some pretty decent art from Land, Jay Leisten, and Frank D’Armata.
| Published by Marvel
Avengers #4 made it dawn on me what this run reminds me of, Grant Morrison and Howard Porter’s run on JLA. It’s intelligently crafted, widescreen action with Jason Aaron, Paco Medina, Ed McGuinness, Juan Velasco, Mark Morales, and David Curiel pulling it off very, very well.
| Published by Marvel
Captain America #1 is great. Ta-Nehisi Coates’ debut on the series finally addresses the fallout of Secret Empire on a personal and emotional level and it leads to an incredibly compelling story of war and pieces, as a new threat begins to surface and we’re left in a world where people don’t know who to trust. The story is enriched immensely by Leinil Francis Yu, Gerry Alanguilan, and Sunny Gho’s artwork which is just incredible. Yu is a consummate storyteller and this book is just flawless with its visuals. I’m very interested to see where this creative team is going to take this story.
| Published by Marvel
Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 continues the fun that was to be had during Donny Cates, Geoff Shaw, and Antonio Fabela’s excellent run on Thanos, with Cates’ Interceptor/Reactor collaborator, Dylan Burnett taking on the art chores. You don’t need to have read the earlier Thanos series to come in here, but I still highly recommend reading that run. “Thanos Wins” was a damn good story and so is this. The irreverent humour is here in spades, the art is glorious, and Frank Castle’s new mission should be interesting.
| Published by Marvel
Dark Ark #8 takes a very interesting turn as Shrae confronts the monster of the deep plaguing Noah’s ark. Juan Doe’s designs for even more of the monsters, and the deep one, are amazing.
| Published by AfterShock
Deadpool #2 has more glorious art from Nic Klein. This is among the best art in a Deadpool series and the character has seem some pretty incredible artists work on him. I can again easily recommend the title on the art alone, but I do have to say that the story is growing on me. I like the somewhat serious yet patently ridiculous interplay between Klein’s art and Skottie Young’s dialogue, with some very nice humorous moments here.
| Published by Marvel
Death of the Inhumans #1 is going to break your heart. Even if you hate the Inhumans, this is pretty harrowing. Donny Cates, Ariel Olivetti, and Jordie Bellaire are crafting a tale of loss here and this issue really makes that loss feel real, the threat possibly inescapable, as the Kree threaten genocide. This is pretty epic and I’m anxious to see what happens next.
| Published by Marvel
Death or Glory #3 is a harrowing issue, cutting deep twice, once as we go on a trip through Glory’s past and once again in the present, with a few other punches for good measure. Rick Remender and Bengal are delivering an incredibly nuanced, well-thought out, well-illustrated crime tale here and I recommend it highly for everyone. Loving this series.
| Published by Image / Giant Generator
Delta 13 #3 reaches the point in the horror story where there are weird shenanigans going on, but the creature(s) haven’t yet revealed themselves to the crew. Steve Niles and Nat Jones are really milking the atmosphere they’ve established, it should be very interesting when the story explodes.
| Published by IDW
Doctor Strange #3 is labelled as an Infinity Wars tie-in and given that it advances the plot and whereabouts of the Time Stone, it is absolutely essential to the overall story (even if “Infinity Countdown tie-in” might be a better label at this current point). Mark Waid and Jesús Saiz deliver a mostly standalone story here, fleshing out some of the character development between Strange and Kanna, but this issue should have interesting ramifications on the wider Infinity Stones arc.
| Published by Marvel
Giant Days #40 sees the welcome return of Max Sarin to the art chores, coinciding with Ed moving back in from the hospital. I’m impressed with what John Allison does with the confrontation between Ed and Esther. It’s not at all what I would have expected, but it feels right.
| Published by Boom Entertainment / BOOM! Box
The Gravediggers Union #8 is the quiet before the storm, with Cole having a talk with his daughter before the end, trying to convince her to walk away from destroying the world. I still love how Wes Craig, Toby Cypress, and Niko Guardia have turned this huge, weird epic into a deeply personal story of a girl who feels betrayed by her parents. Very much looking forward to seeing how this concludes next issue.
| Published by Image
The Highest House #5 is another brilliant issue in this series that everyone should be reading. Everyone. The layers of characters, the intricacies of the plot, the absolutely amazing artwork, Mike Carey, Peter Gross, and Fabien Alquier are crafting a masterpiece here.
| Published by IDW
Hunt for Wolverine: Weapon Lost #3 takes a turn as the detective group searching for Wolverine find a Wolverine. As with the other Hunt for Wolverine minis, most of this looks to be shaping up to be a wild goose chase, but for the most part these are still interesting stories in their own right. Charles Soule gives us another cliffhanger at the end here, I wonder if it will end up like last issue’s?
| Published by Marvel
Immortal Hulk #2 I’d probably argue is even better than the first issue. While that feel of the lonesome wanderer that’s reminiscent of the television series and the Marvel Knights run from Bruce Jones is still present here, of a Bruce Banner terrified of the Hulk, the story here twinges a different flavour, Len Wein and Bernie Wrighton’s Swamp Thing. This issue taps into that feel of the reticent monster, hunting down things that are even worse. This is a great standalone tale from Al Ewing, Joe Bennett, Ruy José, and Paul Mounts.
| Published by Marvel
Incognegro: Renaissance #5 concludes this wonderful series, working out the final details leading up to Xavier’s murder. Like the original Incognegro graphic novel, Mat Johnson and Warren Pleece have crafted a wonderful mystery that weaves into it some very important, very interesting history and sociological themes. I’m hoping that there will be more.
| Published by Dark Horse / Berger Books
Infinity Countdown: Champions #2 makes some big changes, huge developments really, that make this issue absolutely necessary if you’re a regular Champions reader. Jim Zub, Emilio Laiso, and Andy Troy conclude this tale on a bittersweet note, including an epic confrontation between the team and Warbringer.
| Published by Marvel
Joe Hill’s The Cape: Fallen #1 reunites the team who adapted Joe Hill’s short story the first time around, Jason Ciaramella, Zach Howard, and Nelson Daniel, for a new mini set between the panels of the original story. While reading the original certainly informs this, I feel like you can still enjoy this new mini so far on its own merits.
| Published by IDW
The Last Siege #2 brings us round to gathering the pieces for the conflict between this last bastion against an upstart king, as well as the ramifications of capture and exile of Sir Feist. Like the first issue, the art from Justin Greenwood and Eric Jones is perfect.
| Published by Image
Medieval Spawn & Witchblade #3 incrementally advances us forward, giving us a fight between Spawn and one of the Queen’s minions and delivering a bit of exposition on the Witchblade’s legacy. I’m not sure if it’s in Brian Haberlin’s originals, since it kind of looks like he’s using digital models, or ultimately completely Geirrod van Dyke’s work, but the rendering on Spawn and Scourge’s armours looks incredible.
| Published by Image
Paradiso #5 returns with some incredible world-building as we learn more about the religion of the world as it is now and of some of the history and landmarks throughout the city. Everything about this series is amazing, with Ram V, Devmalya Pramanik, Alba Cardona Gil, and Aditya Bidikar, creating something very unique here.
| Published by Image
The Quantum Age #1 begins a new ongoing series in the Black Hammer empire, with Jeff Lemire riffing on the Legion of Super-Heroes, and Wilfredo Torres and Dave Stewart providing some beautiful artwork. I’ve loved what Lemire and his artistic collaborators in Dean Ormston, David Rubín, Max Fiumara, and Stewart have done previously, deftly working through the various different eras of comicdom (mainly with analogues to DC stuff), while still telling engaging surface level stories. This looks to be no different, although featuring a future gone wrong rather than the optimism of the usual LoSH stories.
| Published by Dark Horse
Submerged #1 is an enthralling first issue, with Vita Ayala, Lisa Sterle, and Stelladia capturing an almost perfect balance of magical realism, juggling between the fantasy and horror of the descent into the underworld and the mundane of Elysia’s family life.
| Published by Vault
Thief of Thieves #38 comes a little more than a year and a half after the last issue, with a transition from Andy Diggle to Brett Lewis on writing duties for this final arc. There’s a decided stylistic shift, from all out action to Lewis’ epistolary narration, but with Shawn Martinbrough’s art it still feels like a continuation of the overall story. It does a decent job recapping what happened previously in story through a flashback of Conrad’s last moments, but even as someone who’s read the rest of the series, I feel like I need to go back and re-read them again for full impact.
| Published by Image / Skybound
Transformers: Lost Light #19 adds a step away from zombie robots to the mix as the series races towards the end. There are a lot of moving parts coming together in James Roberts’ script, plot threads and characters converging from years of storytelling, and the payoff is pretty epic. It’s also really nice to see a return of IDW’s original Transformers artist, EJ Su. It seems fitting as everything starts coming to an end to return to the beginning.
| Published by IDW
Unnatural #1 begins republishing in English Mirka Andolfo’s Contro Natura, which was originally published by Panini in Italian. It’s definitely different for North American markets, but I welcome more translations and more funny animal books. Especially ones as good as Andolfo delivers here. The art is phenomenal and the story, putting forth a society that is oppressive in its reproductive rights, making taboo any number of unions that don’t follow conception, is a much needed one.
| Published by Image
Weapon X #20 continues this transition into a new incarnation of the team. It’s not as hard a break into the new as the solicitations and some of the ads would have you believe, continuing on the story of Omega Red and the Russian mutant death camps, but it’s working towards setting up a new status quo under Sabretooth’s lead. The humour and action from Greg Pak and Fred van Lente is still present, but they’re joined here by Ricardo López Ortiz, just recently having finished an arc on Hit-Girl, who brings a decidedly different verve to the story.

A Shirt
It all started with a spill
Bottom!FtM Brian x Top!Masc!Werewolf Reader
{Request} | AFAB Language Used
CW: Non-Con to Con, Victim Blaming, Alpha/Omega, Breeding, Creampie, Daddy Kink, Knotting
📝 756 Words
──────────────────
You brought Brian over to hang out and watch a movie, as good friends do. He accidentally spilled a drink on his shirt so you mindlessly grabbed him a shirt of yours.
As soon as you saw him in your hugely oversized tee, all you could think about was how he looked like yours. The fact that your scent was still lingering on the shirt wasn't helping much. He's wearing shorts too, short enough that he could be mistaken for not having anything underneath.
He noticed your tail moving a little but laughed it off, plopping down on the couch and starting the movie. Your ears are tilted and a serious look is painted on your face, you're trying not to pounce on him.
All monsters fall into a category, Alpha, Beta, or Omega. And you, an alpha, became friends with an omega. It isn't usually a problem for the two of you, you're both good at controlling your pheromones and Brian always knows when his heat is coming up, and as do you with your rut.
Unfortunately though, Brian's subconsciously releasing aroused pheromones (because of the scenes in the movie) and your rut's come early thanks to that. In normal circumstances, you'd tell him and he'd quickly make his exit. He's taken and definitely not interested in breaking up.
But right now? You can barely handle yourself. Brian's clearly turned on next to you and he's trying to hide it but failing terribly. You can't handle it.
"Brian.." You start, voice deep and steady.
He turns to you, body involuntarily reacting to your voice. "What's wrong?"
"Do you know how stupid you are?" You ask. Brian's cheek burn in embarrassment, he doesn't understand what he did but he feels like he should be ashamed. "You're practically laying yourself out on a silver platter asking me to take you." You grip his waist.
"What the fuck, man?!" He slaps you.
"You triggered my rut early because of your pheromones, take responsibility for it." You rip his shorts off. "I'm sure your partner won't mind sharing this one time. Or maybe they won't even care, seeing as you haven't even been claimed." You rub his clit.
Brian squirms in your hold, slowly losing the energy to fight from how strong your pheromones are.
"'M gonna fuck you and breed you like the whore you are." You pull your pants off and spread his legs open. "Look how wet you are, you want this, don't you?"
"No-" His eyes widen, your cock making an unexpected entrance into his unsuspecting cunt.
You ignore him, forcing your entire length into him. Brian comes to terms with the fact that you can't go against your instincts so he stops moving, still uncomfortable and not enjoyable the situation but he knows nothing'll come of fighting. You're a lot stronger than him.
You grab his hips, slamming his body up and down onto your cock. "Yeah, that's right, just let Daddy fuck you." You groan, enjoying his lack of resistance.
Brian covers his mouth, embarrassed by the sounds coming out of it. He didn't expect it to feel good, he thought it'd hurt too much to feel anything else.
"Gonna get you pregnant, fill your tummy up with my cum and give you a litter of my pups-" You groan.
A sweet mewl escapes the coverage of his mouth, his body reacting positively to your words.
"Your pussy wants me to come inside it, Brian, squeezing me so tight." You flip him around, his elbows on the arms of the couch. "You want it too, don't you?" You spank him.
Brian chokes out a moan, and covers his mouth back up, not wanting to give in just yet.
You spank him again. "Come on, say it."
"I do- I do~!" He gasps. "Want yo- you to bre- breed me, Da- daddy~!" Brian nods quickly, lowering his head as he feels himself get close.
You reach down to rub his clit, fucking him harder. Brian digs his nails into the couch, walls spasming around your fat length as he squirts onto the cushions.
"Such a good slut, you want Daddy's knot, sweetheart?"
Brian babbles before forming a coherent response. "Yes!"
You bite into his shoulder, your knot fitting snugly inside him as thick, hot globs of cum fill him up.
His body grows just as hot, his body shaking heavily as he starts to come back to reality.
If he really does get pregnant, how is he supposed to explain this to his partner?

The Mate X is Huawei’s 5G foldable
The world’s fastest growing mobile company has long had a chip on its shoulder when it comes to Apple and Samsung. For too long, the company has had to go out of its way to remind the world that it’s capable of being every bit as innovative as those better established brands, a concept very much at the heart of the Mate X.
The device lives right at the cross section of the year’s biggest forward looking trends — foldables and 5G, and unlike some of the concepts we’ve seen to date, the product does so with panache.
It is, of course, a bit of a wild west when it comes to form factors for the burgeoning foldable space. In a quick, behind the scenes briefing ahead of today’s press conference at MWC, we were given the opportunity to see the handset in action. It was, admittedly, a little more rushed than we’d like, involving no actual hands on time with the product — it was more of a stand behind this rope and snap off a couple of photos situation.
No touching, no followup questions. The company promised to shed more light on the product today, as Richard You takes the stage, but for now, it appears to be the kind of cautious presentation one gives involving a device that isn’t quite ready to be put through its paces. Even so, it’s a heck of a lot closer and with much better lighting than we got the first time Samsung showed off its own entry.
And from these early glimpses, I’m mostly impressed with what the Chinese manufacturer was able to do here. Huawei’s brought some clever touches to the product category, and designed what looks to be a pretty slick devices from most angles.
The device is thin, as far as tablets go, at 5.4 mm, unfolded. Closed, it’s nearly double that, at 11 mm. Not thin, exactly, but still a heck of a lot easier to slip into your pants pockets than the 17mm Galaxy Fold.
More impressive is what the company’s been able to do with its displays. The screen is very much the thing on these products, and yet the Fold’s outside screen only measures 4.6 inches. The Mate X, meanwhile, sports a pair of outward-facing displays, the larger of which measures 6.6 inches at 2480 x 1148 pixels, with a 19:5 aspect ration.
The flip side is 6.38 inches, allowing for space for the camera bar — a chin that folds over to meet the display. The system features a Leica lens and the design is such that photo subjects can see themselves on the outward-facing display as a shot is taken. On the device’s side is a combo fingerprint reader/power button.
Unfolded using the proprietary “Falcon Wing” hinge (three years in the making, according to mobile CEO Richard Yu), the inside screen is a full eight inches. That’s certainly enough room to have a pair of apps open, side by side. While we didn’t get closer than a few feet away, the vantage point was enough to spot a visible crease in the middle of the phone, detectable when it caught the overhead lights.
The other key part here is, naturally, the 5G. Huawei, of course, manufacturers its own 5G network gear, which means that, unlike most of the competition, it’s been able to speed test. The company calls the Mate X “the world’s fastest 5G phone” — words that admittedly don’t mean a heck of a lot, at the moment. That said, it’s promising download speeds of “up to 4.6 Gbps, which should translate to a 1GB movie download in three seconds.
Inside are a pair of batteries that add up to 4,500mAh – you’re going to need something beefy inside to deal with all of those screens and 5G, which is a notable battery drainer. The company’s Kirin 980 processor is also on board for the device.
Update: The handset will be available mid-year, priced at, get this, $2,600.

Oh that reacting to death ask was pretty good. Can I ask for an extension on that for the colour squad/player characters + Calculester and Zoe?
Sure thing! But this will be my last one for tonight. -(Temp)Frosty
Oz -
Oz just can’t believe it. They’re gone… just like that. He can’t bring himself to say anything… nothing that hasn’t been said already.
He doesn’t leave his house that often… and when he does, he’s more withdrawn than ever. He keeps any conversations short on purpose… and just tries to be alone even more. He’s scared of something… now that they’re gone…
He’s scared it will happen again. Happen to someone else he cares about. He’s afraid of getting hurt again… by the pain of being so attached.
Vicky -
Vicky’s usually a bright, optimistic, cheery soul.
But the spark was just gone now… a gloom persists over her head like a dark cloud. Something she wish she could just wipe away. But she can’t.
She never stops thinking about them. Every little thing reminds her of them. It’s bringing her grades down, and she finds herself almost grasping for social interaction.
She wants to feel alive again. She wants to be happy again. She tries to keep the connections she has strong… unbreakable, inseparable. She needs for someone to be there for her… she’s trying to rekindle what was lost. But it’s like trying to catch smoke.
Amira -
She keeps her composure rather well. Her flame dims at the thought of them, and she just doesn’t feel the same drive, the same passion she once had towards life.
Her confidence wavers. Her laughter and smiles seem… false, somehow… like she’s just going through the motions of being happy.
More than anything… she’s scared. Is this what the others will feel when she’s gone? Is this the pain someone else will feel? She doesn’t want anyone to cry over her… even when her own flame dies out.
Brian -
Brian is hard to read. Even when his S/O is passes, it’s hard to tell just what he’s thinking. Mostly because he’s trying so hard to hide it all.
He doesn’t want any help. He doesn’t want any support. He wants to come to terms with it on his own. Brian doesn’t let anyone talk about them around him. He just gets up and leaves when their name is mentioned…
He pretends it’s not bothering him… but he can’t ignore the emptiness. The gap they left in his life…
Zoe -
When an eldritch ex-deity weeps, you know something is wrong. The eyes around her body keep her covered in tears… her mouths choke back sobs and the tentacles shroud her face.
She wishes she could bring them back. She wishes she still held the power to do so. What she wouldn’t give for the person who made her feel… wanted.
A part of her recognizes the dread building up inside her. This was real loss… real pain. And being the eldritch spawn of creation… she knows she’ll be around a lot longer… long enough to feel this pain again and again.
Calculester -
This must be a malfunction… it had to have been. This aching in chassis… it was burning. There’s no way his S/O’s passing could have caused this, right?
He was a machine… motors and wires. Ones and zeroes. He knew that even if someone else had died, he would continue operating… it was just logic.
But why? Why was this aching still here? It had to be a glitch… a virus… a faulty chip in his motherboard.
Or maybe… he figured out what sadness felt like. Real sadness. Calculester had always been told that somethings just can’t be taught… and that now, he’s learned something.
He thanks his S/O one last time… for the times they shared, and the things he learned, even after their passing.

off the rack #1184
Monday, October 16, 2017
It was another fun day Sunday at the Capital Trade Shows for Jee-Riz Comics & Appraisals with my partner Chris. We met a guy who's girlfriend had all her Love and Rockets comics stolen by an ex. He saw that we had some for sale and bought a bunch to replace them for her. What a sweetie. I just happened to see another guy there whose kid was playing hockey. He came in Saturday looking for the last issue of Dark Knight: Master Race (#9). I couldn't find it for him while he was in the store but did locate it after he left. When I told him this at the arena he asked that I hold it for him and he would get back to the store next weekend to buy it. I love when things like that happen.
Falcon #1 - Rodney Barnes (writer) Joshua Cassara (art) Rachelle Rosenberg (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Sam Wilson has given up being Captain America and has gone back to being the high flying Falcon ever since Secret Empire ended. Looks like he's going back to the streets to fight crime with his trusty bird companion Redwing and a new kid sidekick named Patriot. The two heroes try to get rival street gangs to call a truce but the two gang leaders agreeing to meet in public didn't seem very realistic to me. You just know something bad is going to happen and it does. Everything played out too predictably and not even the surprise villain made me want to continue reading. Sorry Sam, but I'm not boarding this flight.
Ragman #1 - Ray Fawkes (writer) Inaki Miranda (art) Eva De La Cruz (colours) Josh Reed (letters). They've made some major changes to this character. The patchwork hooded costume has been replaced by strips of cloth that makes this character look like Venom's cousin. It all starts when American mercenaries break into a holy temple in Israel intending to loot it and they are attacked by some demonic creatures. Only one guy escapes alive and he is the one chosen to become the new Ragman. The art in this is really nice and the character is so different that he seems new and fresh. This 6-issue story is worth checking out.
Mech Cadet Yu #3 - Greg Pak (writer) Takeshi Miyazawa (art) Triona Farrell (colours) Simon Bowland (letters). Plenty of action this issue as the big bad aliens have started their attack. Our young cadet gets thrust into a close encounter of a dangerous kind. Greg makes these characters come to life. The General's daughter is a real jerk.
All-New Wolverine #25 - Tom Taylor (writer) Juann Cabal (art) Nolan Woodard (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). This book has been consistently good since it hit the racks and this is a good issue to start with if you are looking for a comic book to add to your sub. Juann's art is really nice. His work on Elektra impressed me and I hope he draws Laura for a while. I like little sister Gabby in Laura's life and Tom is adding to her family with this issue.
Wildstorm: Michael Cray #1 - Bryan Hill (writer) N. Steven Harris (pencils) Dexter Vines (inks) Steve Buccellato (colours) Simon Bowland (letters). Now that was surprisingly interesting. I can't say that I was enamoured with the art but this new Deathblow story caught my fancy. I am going to assume that this takes place in an alternate universe because the guy that Michael has been assigned to kill isn't a bad guy in the DCU. Michael Cray has worked solo up until now but his boss wants him to gather a team to go after the bad guy. Between the target and the team, this should be a fun adventure for the assassin.
American Gods #8 - Neil Gaiman (writer) P. Craig Russell (script & layouts) Scott Hampton (art) Rick Parker (letters). There is extreme graphic content in this issue. Reader discretion is advised. I'm glad the creators and Dark Horse Comics didn't censor this part of the book. I had forgotten the little vignette "Coming to America" but Glenn Fabry and Adam Brown did a fine job of reminding me.
Weapon X #9 - Greg Pak & Fred Van Lente (writers) Marc Borstel & Ibraim Roberson (art) Frank D'Armata (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). In Part 3 of "The Hunt for Weapon H" the team has a team up with the All-New Wolverine and another character that is a big surprise. Greg and Fred's Laura has more attitude than Tom Taylor's.
Detective Comics #966 - James Tynion IV (writer) Eddy Barrows (pencils) Eber Ferreira (inks) Adriano Lucas (colours) Sal Cipriano (letters). The Multiverse can be very confusing and this story with Tim Drake teaming up with a future version of himself scrambled my noggin. I'm still going to power through "A Lonely Place of Living" because I find this Elseworld story quite entertaining.
Runaways #2 - Rainbow Rowell (writer) Kris Anka (art) Matthew Wilson (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). This isn't your ordinary family reunion. I like how Rainbow is catching us up with these characters. There are some cool little twists this issue and I am looking forward to seeing more.
Dark Nights: Metal #3 - Scott Snyder (writer) Greg Capullo (pencils) Jonathan Glapion (inks) FCO Plascencia (colours) Steve Wands (letters). I find universe hopping stories almost as annoying as time travel. This Dark Nights is doing that and all the different versions of the characters are starting to confuse me. I'm getting close to saying the heck with this because DC's next big thing "The Doomsday Clock" is coming soon and I don't want my head to explode.
Amazing Spider-Man #789 - Dan Slott (writer) Stuart Immonen (pencils) Wade von Grawbadger (inks) Marte Gracia (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). I was talking to a guy on Wednesday and he asked me what my favourite comic book was and I said The Amazing Spider-Man. He asked me why and I could have given him this issue as an example of why this character and his stories have always interested me. I am so happy to see Stuart Immonen and Wade von Grawbadger drawing Spider-Man again. I love their art. This is a great issue to start your own love affair with the wallcrawler. Everything you need to know is here. There's family and friends, the good old Parker luck, pretty women and super heroics keeping civilians safe from a super villain. Peter Parker may be down right now but he'll get right back up like he always does.
Action Comics #989 - Dan Jurgens (writer & breakdown art) Viktor Bogdanovic (pencils) Viktor Bogdanovic & Trevor Scott (inks) Mike Spicer (colours) Rob Leigh (letters). The big mystery here for me is just who is this "Jor-El" guy? He makes a great argument for Superman to abandon the planet to its hopeless human race and now he's going to get help from another close family member. Can Superman resist? Sure he can, because he's still got to sit on Darkseid's throne in "Superman: Imperius Lex" hitting the racks soon. Can you believe that this title will hit #1000 soon?
Defenders #6 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) David Marquez (art) Justin Ponsor (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). One character's appearance is spoiled on the cover but there's another character's surprise appearance on the last page that will make you go "oh yeah". Brian writing Deadpool is going to be so much fun.

It’s been 13 years since writer Grant Morrison killed off Jean Grey in the climax of his legendary run on “New X-Men,” and today Marvel Comics announced that the adult version of the character will return in Phoenix Resurrection, from writer Matthew Rosenberg (“4 Kids Walk Into A Bank,” “Secret Warriors”) and artist Leinil Yu (“Secret Empire,” “Superior”). The series will also see five yet-to-be-revealed superstar artists contributing their takes on Jean Grey as well.
Phoenix Resurrection marks the return of the iconic version of Jean Grey, the one who made her debut all the way back in 1963 in the first issue of “The X-Men” by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. It was this Jean Grey who enjoyed a long-time romance with Scott Summers and became the Phoenix in the classic “Phoenix Saga” that helped cement the X-Men as the hottest and most beloved titles in comics. This version of Jean married Scott Summers and was the one who formed the basis of the versions seen in the classic animated series of the 1990s and Famke Janssen’s portrayal in five film adaptations.
Senior Marvel Editor Mark Paniccia explained how the newly-exclusive Rosenberg was the impetus for the decision to bring back the classic version of Jean Grey. “Matt came to us with a really interesting and unique approach to bringing Jean back…It’s not what we expected, and plays to Matt’s biggest strengths as a storyteller. This is very cool mystery building to a mind-warping climax. And it has plenty of what you’d expect from an X-Men epic of this magnitude. Action, romance, sacrifice, lots of X-Men and five great artists.”
For his part, Rosenberg understands the iconic status of the character, and the expectations that come along with this kind of resurrection story. “It’s such a mind-blowing honor to bring back the original Jean Grey…I’ve been an X-Men fan my whole life and Jean is, in my mind, the true soul of the X-Men. So we aren’t taking this lightly. We’re going for that perfect balance of universe shaking epic and intimate personal drama that only the X-Men ever truly achieve. This is all hands on deck for the X-Men as every available member heads into battle for the soul of their team and maybe even the fate of the Marvel Universe.”
The announcement created more than a few questions for X-fans, the biggest being how will this affect the young Jean Grey currently starring in her ongoing series. This version of Jean was brought to the present day from the past when writer Brian Michael Bendis took over the X-Men in 2013. Since then, she has become arguably the most well-handled and successful of the time-lost X-Men, enjoying a focus on reshaping her character and taking her away from pre-established narratives. For much of Jean Grey’s existence, the character was defined by her romantic triangle between Wolverine and Cyclops and her cycle of death and rebirth as part of the Phoenix. Since 2013, the young Jean Grey has seen the character largely reject that, becoming the leader of the X-Men Blue team and exploring other character dynamics. It would be a shame to see the return of the classic version of Jean Grey sideline a character freed of long-established backstory just as she was beginning to forge her own path.
For now, though, Phoenix Resurrection doesn’t seem to asking readers to pick one Jean or the other. Paniccia says that Marvel is aware of the effect this development will have on both versions of Jean, saying, “Something this big will leave quite a footprint on the Marvel Universe. Jean will have a startling new role after this, and you’re left wondering, how will the rest of the X-Men respond? What will happen to young Jean Grey?” This of course fits in with Marvel’s “Legacy” initiative, a new direction for their line whose aim seems to be focusing on the classic iterations of their characters. Some have posited that this is an attempt for a seemingly faltering Marvel to reconnect with readers looking for a more traditional vibe after a period of diversification of their characters. But another segment of the readership have enjoyed seeing Marvel embrace a more realistic reflection of the makeup of the world with characters from a more diverse pool. In some ways, bringing back the classic Jean Grey while keeping the young version active would fit in with Marvel’s attempt to seemingly please both segments of their readership.
In any case, with a superstar like Yu on art and a high-profile push for Phoenix Resurrection, the miniseries represents a significant levelling-up for Rosenberg as he rides some recent buzz to join the ranks of Marvel’s exclusive writers.
Phoenix Resurrection hits stores and platforms in December, 2017.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE:
Jean Grey Returns To The Marvel Universe In PHOENIX RESURRECTION! Adult Jean Grey rises again!
New York, NY—September 18, 2017—When Jean Grey died heroically in Grant Morrison’s epic run of NEW X-MEN, she left a void among her mutant family – and in the world. For over a decade, the X-Men have lived with the fact that Jean Grey is no longer with them as a team member and a friend – and now, this winter, adult Jean Grey will live again, in a return fans have been demanding for years.
Marvel is excited to announce the official return of adult Jean Grey in PHOENIX RESURRECTION, with a story by newly exclusive writer Matthew Rosenberg (Secret Warriors, Punisher) and art by superstar artist Leinil Yu (Secret Empire). As a true celebration of the character’s power and iconic status, the five-issue epic will also include five blockbuster artists taking on Jean Grey throughout the run, as well as Phoenix Variant covers that will begin in December.
“Matt came to us with a really interesting and unique approach to bringing Jean back,” said senior editor Mark Paniccia. “It’s not what we expected, and plays to Matt’s biggest strengths as a storyteller. This is very cool mystery building to a mind-warping climax. And it has plenty of what you’d expect from an X-MEN epic of this magnitude. Action, romance, sacrifice, lots of X-Men and five great artists.”
Strange events are no surprise to the X-Men, but when events start occurring that are more specific and strange than usual, the group is forced to confront the truth: could Jean be alive after all? And how will this Jean Grey deal with a world that is now so different from the one she left years ago?
“It’s such a mind-blowing honor to bring back the original Jean Grey,” said series writer Matthew Rosenberg. “I’ve been an X-Men fan my whole life and Jean is, in my mind, the true soul of the X-Men.
“This is just the beginning,” teased Paniccia. “Something this big will leave quite a footprint on the Marvel Universe. Jean will have a startling new role after this, and you’re left wondering, how will the rest of the X-Men respond? What will happen to young Jean Grey?”
Fulfilling the promise of an exciting return in MARVEL LEGACY, don’t miss Jean Grey’s newest adventure – PHOENIX RESURRECTION hits comic shops December 27th! And be sure to head to your local comic shop to pick up December’s True Believers Phoenix comics!

Brian with shy witch s/o, btw love your blog!!
(apologies for getting to these so late…)
Brian’s got a thing for the quiet types… mostly because he’s a low-energy, quiet type of guy.
He takes his time. He’ll ask you out every now and then, and if you’re not feeling up to it, he’ll try again later. But to help build your confidence, he does take an interest in something you’re proficient in… magic.
He compliments you on how rad your spellbook looks… how those glowing spells of arcane power light up your face beautifully… how nice and tidy your transmutation circles are.
If he had the aptitude for it, he’d ask to learn a little magic from you. But being with you is enchanting enough.
