Velvety, smooth wine, with lots of chocolate aromas and flavours. The orange is subtle, but adds the acidity to balance the slight sweetness you would expect with milk chocolate and a nice warming kick from the alcohol.

Brewing can be unpredictable. I haven’t had an eruption for years, but the Solomon Grundy wine kit kicked into overdrive 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️Blocked the airlock and popped the lid 💥

Luckily not much lost 🙂

Found this bottle of winebuddy strawberry wine hiding at the back of a cupboard. Made in 7 days in 2016. Thought we would see how it has aged.

Noticed sediment in the bottle. So a careful pour.

Still got a lot of its colour, but it has got a bit on the brown burgundy side.

Aromas are still full of strawberries.

Tasting shows its aged really well. Still very fruity. A dryness from the tannins. Good acidity. Its turned into more of a red wine with strawberry flavours.

This was a quite sweet wine in 2016 from my notes, but this has changed over time. Yes its still got a little sweetness that balances it all nicely.

Very good.

Now to make another batch and leave if for 7 years to mature nicely.
