re ur post about the cass fics!! i was wondering if you had any good recommendations? ive been wanting to read some but struggling to find stuff that does her right!!

It can definitely be a struggle! I'm going to compile a bunch of great Cass rec lists here, so you'll hopefully have reading material for a long time to come :).

Xanthe/Cass: Red Bean Buns of Destiny by zorilleerant

A super cute fic with a great set-up, a well-written Xanthe, and a vibrant narration style. The author uses he/they pronouns for Xanthe.

Tai'Darshan/Cass: Moonlight Musings by Scribe_By_Night

One of the only Tai'Darshan fics in existence, this fic dives wonderfully into Cass' first experience with love, and the fraught emotions that come with it. A bit left of canon (set in Black Bat-era but Cass is meeting Tai for the first time). Guys this has 4 hits and I'm 2 of them and it deserves so much more, the other 2 Tai'Darshan fans on this website please give this fic some love!!

Not read too much on other ships like CassKon, CassRose, etc., so anyone feel free to drop recs in the comments/notes! I hope this helps :).

the feelings I have about this actually, like you’re telling me out of the two of them Zero was the love interest, not say the one who gave her a sense of community and finally gave her meaning to Cassandra outside of batgirl, the one whoses interest in Cass lied solely in her safety and being open, someone who was in fact Cass’s full chose that she considered all *hers*, like it should have been brenda pls

yes exactly, like her understanding of what love is and what it entails is all warped, she sees this simplified and sort of artificial side of it not really understanding that love itself has many different sides and ways of presenting itself

[she does not notice -or ignores as they don’t fit into her framing of “love”- the very real trust and love she develops towards the women in her life]

this this this, I chose to believe she doesn’t notice bc she doesn’t know that’s an option and something she can have to herself

it would be really interesting if you went down the she ignored it bc it makes all the sense as Cass is someone who strives for perfection and what is perfect if not herteronormality, like the potential
