Florawish Stories: The Eel That Turned Into a Shooting Star
Leisurely Anglers Florawish Branch
“I'm just an ordinary Ribbon Eel.
I've heard that every Ribbon Eel has a chance to be draped in a pink veil, swaying with the waves. So, I begged my mom to practice tail swishing with me. She promised to take me to the front of the school during the Shooting Star Season, where we'd be blessed by the stars and turn pink.
I don't remember which night it was, but a shooting star streaked across the sky, and my mom excitedly woke me from a dream where I was using my tail to tease a Shirtcat. We quickly joined the other fish and chased the shooting star. It was my first time seeing one... It emitted a dazzling light and had a trailing tail, which perfectly suited my fishy taste. But still, my mom's scales were more beautiful than mine.
l asked her, as stars shoot across the sky, and fish swim below, do we look like shooting stars to them? My mom stroked my head but said nothing in response.
I felt sleepy and tired. She held me gently, singing me a lullaby as we swam. In my dream, there were no Shirtcats or Ambirds, only shooting stars crashing into the lake. I watched as they turned into Pink Ribbon Eels, who sang a strange melody with my mom.
When I woke up, the shooting star and my mom were both gone. I hadn't become a Pink Ribbon Eel, either. So I trained, over and over, chasing the reflections of the shooting stars in the water. Until one day, a starry light finally hit me, and I blew out a pink bubble. My body tingled, but I didn't care. I swam against the light, diving deeper and deeper, then leaped out of the serene lake, searching for what I had lost.
"O' Wishing One, please bless my child with health and fortune, and grant me a Pink Ribbon Eel."
I heard a woman by the shore whisper, hoping her child would return to her safely. Outside, there were terrifying Esselings and the Knights of the Empire of Light...
Her tears fell into the lake, and I cradled her warm heart, hearing my mom singing that lullaby again...
So, I sang too, leaping into the woman's arms. Her warmth wrapped around my every scale... a long-forgotten embrace.
Pink bubbles rose, and I dreamed of the day I danced across the sky, falling into the lake.”

Art of the Roaming Fish: Wishfield Special Edition
Leisurely Anglers Florawish Branch
“Preface
If one were to name an area in Miraland renowned for its diverse and pristine fish ecology, Wishfield, adjacent to Umbraso and located within the Heartcraft Kingdom, would surely get a mention. Silken Lake, situated quietly on the southern edge of Wishfield, supports a variety of fish species. Among them are the common Bow Fish and Brushies, as well as Whisker Fish and Ribbon Eels, which are unique to the waters of Breezy Meadow. These fish, with their varied postures, provide abundant inspiration for the stylists of Wishfield.
When it comes to Silken Lake, the Ribbon Eel deserves a special mention. With its slender and delicate figure, it swims in the clear lake like a ribbon floating on the hem of a skirt. Their elegant dorsal fins and luminescent scales serve as a reference for many dress
stylists.
By studying the swimming curve of the Ribbon Eel, stylists have garnered valuable insights into the curvature and arrangement of folds in skirt hems. Using slightly transparent fabric allows the skirt to better capture and reflect the elegance and charm of the Ribbon Eel.
The art of the Wishfield fish now begins. Follow the author's steps and appreciate the ingenious natural designs of the fish here.”

Fishing and I: Select Insights from Donald

“Patience is key when fishing.
When it comes to fishing, I can confidently say that no one in Wishfield knows the local fish- such as Whisker Fish, Ruffin, and Carryfin-better than I do. However, this is not the true essence of fishing.
Gently bait the hook, cast the line, and savor the opportunity to converse with time. Watch the ripples dance across the lake's surface and enjoy the tiny bubbles that arise from the fish's movements— these are the silent musings of the fish.
This tranquility is a tacit understanding between me, the fish, the lake, and the meadow. The same applies when I wait for the float to tremble. This moment does not come early, nor does it come late. It exists in a perfect moment in time.
Reel in...
Many ask me exactly how to adjust the angle and force when reeling in.
Remember! This is a dance between the angler and the fish. The reeling back and forth is just like dancers' interweaving steps at a ball. Being harmonious in confrontation is a state of mind-an invitation that is balanced and fitting, not overly ingratiating.
So don't be discouraged when the fish swims away. In the extremes of stillness and motion, we can understand ourselves, our homes, and the world. This is the essence of fishing, and it requires the angler to immerse themselves in a serene, meticulous, and patient state of mind.”
