I’m saying that when the rest of volume 7 involved breaking the law for the greater good that just arresting Jacques like a common criminal feels cheap.
I never said it was morally the same as arresting cinder I’m saying as far as the government whose authority Weiss was wielding in that scene is concerned they are.
If Weiss had to utilize some clever legal loophole or find some way around the law that would have been far more fitting.
Because as is it seems like she’s only willing to break the law to stop Salem, but to stop Jacques she has to wait until it’s convenient.
(salem on a seer call to summer) and then those little hooligans broke into my battleship whale so i called the cops to arrest them. kids these days 😤

i dont see the point of human rights laws or courts when states will not oblige by them when they dont feel like it, and when there'll be no consequences when theyre found guilty
#i simply dont see the point for their existence#when i as a citizen of a country break the law there'll be consequences for me#when a state breaks laws on human rights that they agreed to upholding. no consequences. even when brought to court#is there something i'm missing#you might think this in the current case of palestine yes#i was specifically thinking of another recent instance. the political prisoners in turkey#the former hdp members imprisoned for tweeting people should protest against turkish support of ISIS#many of them got at least 30 years for that. and two days ago there was another hearing where some sentences were prolonged even more#in 2022 the european court of human rights decided the alligations made by the turkish state were unjust#did anything follow upon that decision? no. turkey didnt and doesnt care. those people have been in jail since 2016#nesi rants

Slowly quietly thinking about how water-- the classical element of change, movement, emotion, and community-- is a subtle symbol of every Cyberpunk 2077's love interest's quest once it reaches it's completion
Judy Alvarez wants to enact change. She is, at her core, an idealist, and wants to confront the injustices of the world she lives in even if she doesn't exactly know where to start. Judy sees the way the world chews up the working classes of Night City and spits them out with no remorse and is one of the only people who says "no, this shouldn't stand, we have to do something". Even though her plan to seize of Clouds is ultimately unsuccessful, she walks away having gained at least one thing: her freedom. She's tied to Night City, in many ways always will be, but she realizes her worth extends beyond the place that's done absolutely nothing for her in return, so she chooses to leave it behind. Judy's storyline ends with her sitting on the dock overlooking the reservoir of Laguna Bend.
River Ward doesn't know how to change. Blue-blooded through and through, an NCPD detective whose traumatic experiences with crime has shaped who he is. River's morality drives his work, but it also pushes those closest to him-- his sister, his niece and nephews-- away from him. As a result, we see him as the thing society shaped him to be: a no-nonsense, by-the-book cop who genuinely believes in the morality of those he works with until he's forced to look it's corruption dead in the eyes. And the second he realizes how unjust the law he fought so hard to uphold really is, he severs his ties with it and returns to the people who care for him the most. River's storyline ends with him sitting on top of a water tower.
Kerry Eurodyne is resistant to change. Why wouldn't he be? Kerry Eurodyne is the last of the old guard, a rockerboy still living 60 years in the past who's in a mansion he hates and in a corporate deal he can't break out of. So what happens when change comes along in the form of a J-Pop band that's covering his songs without his permission? He confronts them, old-school style, because that's what rockerboys like him've always done. But Kerry soon realizes that the world moving on isn't a bad thing-- what is bad is him digging in his heels and not moving along with it. The new ways can be hard to accept, but Kerry's done with spending the rest of his life grappling with a past he refuses to reconcile with, so he ushers in a new era of his life the only way he knows how to: with songs and flames. Kerry's storyline ends with him lying on the shoreline of Del Cornado Bay
Panam Palmer is desperate for her people to change. Stubborn, hardheaded Panam saw the writing on the wall and broke out for a fresh start the moment she realized Saul's 'promised land' was nothing but dust, Raffen, and dealings with Biotechnica. She struck out as a merc in Night City, running drugs and working with the local gangs. But Panam's loyality is as much a blessing as it is a curse. She comes back when her family needs her, but she is done sitting on the sidelines and watching the Aldecaldos fall further under a corporate's thumb. So she does the only thing she feels she can do: steals a panzer and shows her leaders that their clan can still be something great. She's rewarded for her actions, and the Aldecaldos retain their independence for good. Panam's storyline ends with her driving the Basilisk over a lake in the Badlands.

Ripe Town Ep. 12 visuals: The ghost of one's conscience
“Conscience is such a thing. If you want to sell it, it won’t sell for much. But if you want to keep it, then it is expensive." -Captain Leng
Goddamn, Ripe Town has some of the best cinematography I've seen on tv in YEARS. The show's meditations on (in)justice are beautifully rendered through its visual storytelling with not one frame wasted.
The final episode is no exception. As the show progresses, our main character, Qu Sangeng, becomes increasingly disillusioned with the justice system he has been charged to uphold. Like the serial killer he is hunting, Sangeng is caught between wanting to avenge the murder of his mentor and seeking justice in a system that is inherently unequal and unjust. What struck me about the finale was the way it evokes this tension through its symbolic representation of Judge Song, Sangeng’s superior. Even when the actor isn't on screen, Judge Song's character serves as a ghost who haunts Sangeng's conscience.
But before we dive into all that, I want to give a shoutout to the uncredited star of Ripe Town: this donkey, a symbol of Sangeng's unraveling sense of ethics.
I thought it was really clever of the show to bookend Sangeng's slow descent towards revenge with these two scenes from Episode 2 and Episode 11.
In the first scene, Sangeng meets his mentor, Captain Leng, in the forest with some money Captain Leng had asked for (possibly a bribe from the local crime lords?). Captain Leng is surprised Sangeng got him the money when he usually avoids doing so, which leads Sangeng to ask whether it's possible to "catch the bad guys" while keeping his conscience intact. It's clear from their conversation that Sangeng is principled and idealistic but his sense of loyalty could lead him to compromise those principles.
We eventually see this happen in the later part of the show. After a skirmish with the killer, Sangeng tracks down the donkey in a marsh and finds an important clue about the killer's identity. Not only does Sangeng hide this clue from the other bailiffs and Judge Song, but he also decides to collude with another mass murderer to dispose of the killer and avenge Captain Leng.
He has sold his conscious to get the "bad guy."
And yet Sangeng has the ability to choose an alternative path, and that moral decision is symbolically represented by Judge Song.
Despite being betrayed by the judicial system and living a life of bitterness and remorse, Judge Song still chooses to uphold justice for those similarly ensnared in the system. As the killer notes, "those who cannot serve the people, cannot serve the spirits”, and so Judge Song uses the law to punish the guilty regardless of their status. Every day, he fights against the urge to become the monster the judicial system and society tried to make him out to be.
In moments where Sangeng seems to deviate from a more righteous path, we always see Judge Song hovering in the background.
Even when he's not in the scene, his judge's chair and interrogation platform is placed front and center as an anchor. He is the show's moral compass even in death.
Side Note: One of my favorite scenes of this episode (and really the entire show) is when Sangeng visits the coroner's after his revenge plot accidentally leads to the death of Judge Song and other colleagues.
The first time we visited the coroner's in Episode 1, there was one slab for Captain Leng's body. But now, after Sangeng's misguided plan has failed, there are nine. Surrounded by the unnecessary death his desire for revenge caused, Sangeng breaks down.
And how ironic it is that the killer he was hunting is the one who is respectfully observing him put Judge Song's body to rest.
As Sangeng later confesses his misdeeds to his partner, we once again see Judge Song's chair and interrogation platform gently illuminated in the dark. No one gets true relief in this justice system, neither the ones who sell their conscience out of greed and desperation nor the ones who suffer with it still intact. And yet there is always the choice to hold a light up to injustice.

Motivation and Alignment for the headcanon meme :)
This came from here.
Motivation // What or who motivates them to act the way they do? Could that motivator convince them to change? Who or what else could change their ways?
Humanity itself motivates Regis. Deep down, and even plain to see, he is a good man. He wants only to help others. He wants to heal, and in turn, perhaps it might heal him from the past trauma that he's suffered. His Modus Operandi: helping all those who truly require, seek, or deserve it. Geralt was one of those such beings. The two are close friends. He cannot stand by while innocents are being harmed. It just isn’t in his nature.
Alignment // Tell us in detail about your muses' alignment compared to how they see themselves. Do Mun & Muse agree on the same alignment?
Moral and ethical stance is an interesting one here… The "Knight (or Barber-Surgeon) in Shining Armor" trope is fitting for him.
The alignment "Lawful Good" represents a character (like Regis) who is strongly committed to upholding the law and doing what is right. These characters are guided by a strict moral code and believe in using their abilities and power to help others and protect the innocent.
Beyond that, they are willing to follow rules and laws even when it is inconvenient or unpopular, as they believe that order and stability are necessary for the greater good. They may be seen as uptight or inflexible by some, but they are driven by a strong sense of justice and fairness.
Lawful Good Behavior:
• Defending weaker or defenseless characters.
• Allowing an enemy to surrender.
• Using themselves to shield others.
• Refusing assistance for the good of the group.
• Sacrificing their own life for another.
In my mind, this alignment just seems to FIT Regis. Thinking about my own alignment here is hilarious but I’ll do my best.
For me, though? Neutral Good, I think. Nature is perhaps the most neutral of all forces. That's where Regis and I would disagree about some things.
The alignment "Neutral Good" represents a character (or in this case, a person) who is guided by their own sense of morality and desire to do good, but who may not necessarily be bound by laws or strict codes of conduct.
Neutral Good characters are willing to make sacrifices and take risks to help others and make the world a better place, but they may also be more flexible and open to compromise than Lawful Good characters. Regis himself is a stiff and rigid character, in some ways, and unwilling to take no for an answer whenever he has a plan. Were I in that universe, I would be more willing to listen to others and hear them out lol. Neutral Good characters believe in balance and do not see the world in absolutes, recognizing that there are often multiple sides to a situation and that one solution may not be the best for everyone. They may be seen as unpredictable or unreliable by some, but they are ultimately guided by their conscience and a desire to do what is right. (Just saying, randomly: I feel so called out right now. Funny how well that fits.)
Neutral Good Behavior:
• Risking their life to help an innocent.
• Never taking more than their share.
• Willing to break the law to do what is morally right.
• Willing to disobey an unjust order.
Can you tell that I’m a TTRPG (and Dungeons and Dragons) Game/Dungeon Master? Because I write this stuff for a living these days. Gosh, that was all so long. I'm almost sorry.

Trivia Break: Dr Morgentaler
So, with the anti-choice bullshit in the US and Italy's decision to allow anti-choice protesters to actually enter abortion clinics, I would like to introduce you all to Dr Henry Morgentaler. If you're Montrealais, or really into very obscure quasi-ska alt-rock, you'll know the name from the band Me Mom & Morgentaler. Here's why.
Dr Henry Morgentaler was born in Poland 101 years ago. He was Jewish. He ended up in Dachau. He survived, and emigrated to Canada - Montreal specifically. He entered medical practice. He was one of the first doctors in Canada to perform vasectomies, IUD insertions, and provide birth control pills to unmarried women. In 1955. In Montreal, Quebec. Now, please keep in mind that Quebec was really, reeeeeeally Catholic until the 1960s, and the decrease in the sheer volume of Catholicism in Quebec was pretty slow. So here's this guy who went to a hugely Catholic province, went into family planning, and did a whole bunch of stuff that the Catholic Church hates. Buuuuut I guess anyone who survived Dachau had no fucks to give.
In 1967, he spoke before the Health and Welfare Committee stating that women should be able to have safe, legal abortions. This made news - I mean, very Catholic province, abortion is so very illegal, and there's this family planning guy saying this. And to his surprise, he gets a lot of women calling him, visiting his clinic ... all wanting - needing, let's be fair - abortions. And he had to tell them no. He tried referring them, but the only doctors he could refer them to "were no longer available". (I refuse to look too hard into what that means.)
And then, in 1968, he said "Fuck a bunch of this", gave up his family practice, and opened a private clinic that performed abortions as well as contraception etc. Again - survived Dachau. Really had zero fucks to give about the threat of Canadian prison.
Thing is, he went to court three times over this in the early 70s. At all three trials, his defense was that he had to do this to safeguard the life and health of these women who came to him, because there was no safe recourse for them and they'd end up harming themselves or worse by either trying to terminate their pregnancy themselves or going to some back-alley butcher in desperation.
On the strength of the testimonials of the women who'd gone to his clinic, the jury of the first trial acquitted him. Jury nullification - they refused to uphold a law they felt was unjust. Unfortunately, the judge overturned this acquittal, basically on the argument of, "The danger to the woman wasn't immediate and she could have just had the baby" and Morgentaler was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
The year he started serving his sentence, Prime Minister Trudeau (the old one, not the current one) changed the law so that judges weren't allowed to just overturn acquittals - which is actually now known as the Morgentaler Amendment in the Criminal Code.
His second trial happened while he was still in jail. The jury acquitted him in another act of jury nullification, and the judge couldn't just overturn the acquittal. The third one happened when he was in the hospital, after having suffered a heart attack in prison. Once again, jury nullification - acquitted.
1976: The Parti Quebecois, the provincial government at the time, went, "Okay, if juries will never convict them, this is pointless" and got all the remaining charges dropped. Later that year, abortion was legalised in Quebec.
So then he started doing this in other provinces. And the same thing happened - police tried to shut him down, tried him for illegal abortion, jury nullification, acquittal. This time, the judge turned it down again; couldn't turn it into a conviction, but ordered a new trial. "Fine", said Morgentaler. "Let's flag up that this anti-abortion law violates the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms because it interferes with a woman's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". So unlike Roe vs Wade, it focused on human rights rather than just civil rights.
He won, more or less. There were to be no criminal restrictions on the provision of abortions - it was left to medical law. So they can't just make abortions illegal. Restrict? Yes - some provinces restricted access to abortions by only allowing clinics that perform them to be in hospitals, rather than private clinics. And even the provinces that had those restrictions had to drop them in the 90s.
I mean, obviously Morgentaler got some shit. Death threats, bombings, assaults. Again, I guess given what he'd been through, that didn't seem like that big a deal. Imagine surviving that, and then spending your entire life fighting for a woman's right to choose, and have that choice carried out in safety, at the expense of the safety and comfort you fought so hard for.
I don't know if it'd be possible today, what Morgentaler did. He died on 29th May 2013, at age 90. I figure he must have turned in his grave like an express-wagon axle when Roe vs Wade got overturned. But ... here's this guy who came out of hell, moved to the most Catholic province in Canada, and started the kind of pro-choice movement that ended with real change.
And most of all, it started when jury boxes full of people literally said, "We know it's against the law, but given it's a stupid law, we've elected to ignore it".
So here's to Dr Morgentaler, and to the fact that sometimes we can change things. I know everything's stacked so hard against us right now, but ... we do what we can, as hard as we can.

The International Criminal Court Confuses Right and Wrong
Xuefeng
November 27, 2024
What defines the law?
The law is any measure designed to protect people from unjust harm. Anything beyond this cannot genuinely be considered law.
On November 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This act does not uphold the law; it is a blatant violation that muddles right and wrong.
The ICC claims Netanyahu committed war crimes and crimes against humanity during the Gaza war, which is the basis for its arrest warrant.
Did Netanyahu commit war crimes? If so, does this mean that the United States and Britain committed war crimes during the Normandy landings in World War II? Does Ukraine entering Russian territory to combat aggressors also constitute war crimes?
Who started this war? Why was Netanyahu compelled to enter Gaza to target Hamas?
If you invade my territory, launch a surprise attack, kill and abduct my citizens, am I not entitled to retaliate?
If you kill and kidnap my people and retreat to Gaza, does pursuing you into Gaza make me guilty of war crimes? If you take hostages to Gaza, am I not allowed to go there to rescue them?
Civilian casualties occurred during the Gaza war. Who should bear responsibility for this? Who used civilians as human shields? When you hide in schools, hospitals, and residential areas and stubbornly resist, who is accountable for the casualties among Gaza’s civilians? Is it not the Hamas terrorists who launched surprise attacks on Israeli soil, killing and kidnapping Israeli civilians?
How did the ICC’s logic lead to the conclusion that a hero fighting against terrorist organizations becomes a criminal, warranting an arrest?
According to the ICC’s logic, if I invade your home, pillage it, and abduct your mother, wife, and daughter to my house, you are prohibited from coming to my house to recover them. If you do, and I attack you, you are not allowed to fight back. Should you injure anyone in my house while resisting, you are guilty of war crimes.
Did Netanyahu commit crimes against humanity?
Destroying an organization engaged in terrorist activities is undeniably an act of protecting humanity. Yet, in the ICC’s view, Netanyahu, who defends humanity, is branded as a criminal harming humanity. To reverse right and wrong to such an extent, is the ICC upholding the law, or is it breaking it?
The ICC should be disbanded, and its judges sent home to farm potatoes!

John 17:3 NKJV And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
May you not seek to deprive the poor of their rights or withhold justice from the widows and fatherless, but fulfill the righteous judgments of God rather than the oppressive decrees of man, casting your bread upon the waters and sharing your riches among those who cannot repay; for on the day of reckoning, in the time of disaster, you can reap mercy since you have sown mercy. Isaiah 10
May you speak as you hear the Father speak, and do as you see the Father do, neither adding to nor removing from what He has decreed, lest when you have finished, you find that God has added to you the plagues of His punishment and removed your share in the Tree of Life. Isaiah 10 Revelation 22

May you not fear the adversary who beats you with a rod and comes against you with a club for when the anger of God completes your discipline, the wrath of God will accomplish their destruction. Isaiah 10
May you know that when the Lord brings victory over the enemy, the anointing of the Lord, the blessings of God, will break the yoke from your neck and lift their burdens from your shoulders. Isaiah 10
May you abide in the Shoot that comes up from the stump of Jesse, that Branch which is rooted in the Promise of the Father, so that you may delight in the respectful obedience to the Lord and rejoice in His Spirit. It is the in-dwelling Spirit Who directs and influences you with the gifts of His wisdom and understanding, His counsel and power, His knowledge and truth, developing in you the reverential awe of the Lord which gives life and bears fruit to honor the Father. Isaiah 11, John 15
May you be a banner in the hand of the Lord, bearing His message writ large, to be read by all and to assemble the remnant scattered among the nations. Isaiah 11
May you draw His people, in all their diversity, into the unity of the Body, overcoming the enemy of the Lord as His called ones come together into the kingdom of God. Isaiah 11
My child, be mindful of My many blessings to you, and forget not all My benefits in your life. Pray without ceasing to give praise, and make your requests known to the Father with thanksgiving. Count your blessings with every breath, and understand the abundance of My provision for you. Let every breath in be received as a gift from My hand, and every breath out be a praise spoken in My name. Understand that it is My hand that upholds the very fabric of your life, and that no one stands by their own strength. Just as the sun rises and the rain falls on the just and unjust alike at My command, so also I bring the blessing of life and breath to all equally. Consider any time when you have been short of breath, or could not get enough air. You feel a sense of desperation immediately, and begin to struggle in seconds. That which you have given no thought to becomes paramount in your eyes, and when you once again begin to breathe freely, you give no more thought to the matter. Yet I have placed the forests and grasslands across the world to give you breath for your body, and have filled the oceans with life to create the air you breathe. Can you not see that My arm is not shortened, nor is My hand weakened? The riches of the world are Mine, for I have created them, and the treasures of heaven are Mine, for the Father has given Me them, just as I give all things to those who love Me, who seek Me with their whole heart, who understand the fear of the Lord, who choose to willingly obey My Word and submit their will to the leading of My Spirit. I am the One able to keep you from falling, not yourself. I am the awesome and mighty Lord of heaven and earth, and I care enough about you to make sure you stand firm to the end. I am jealous over you, and will not allow anything to stand between your heart and Mine. My anger is against any that would touch you without loving you as much as I do, and My chastening is upon you when your love is drawn away to anything other than Me. Is there anyone who has done as much for you as I have? Is there anyone with whom you should converse more than Me? Meditate on My gift to you of breath, and let your love for Me grow as you understand better My passion for you. Receive My gift and praise Me, continually.
May you very gladly spend for others everything you have and expend yourself as well, that God's love be shown and God's command obeyed. 2 Corinthians 12
May you speak as Christ's servant with God as your witness, that everything you do will be to strengthen others, to build up His Beloved. 2 Corinthians 12
May you trust in God when your accusers hotly pursue you all day long, attacking you in their pride. Psalm 56
May you praise His Word when you are afraid, for what can separate you from God's love? Psalm 56
May your tears be listed in God's record, for then God in His anger will bring down the principalities that twist your words and plot to harm you, even though they watch your steps to take your life. Psalm 56
May the Lord Whose Word you praise and the God in Whom you trust cause your enemies to turn back when you call for help, and by this you will know that God is for you. Psalm 56
May you present your thank offerings to God as you pay your vows to Him, for He has delivered you from death and kept your feet from stumbling. Therefore, walk before God in the light of life. Psalm 56
May you freely set before others a generous feast of God's truth filled with delicacies of the Bread of Life, having a willing heart to meet their needs. Give no thought to cost as you draw on the abundance of God, letting the Spirit of God in your heart overflow with the living water of His compassion to all who hunger for and seek after Him. That which comes from man's heart alone is given with strings attached and tied to expectations. Proverbs 23:6-7

Corporate Taxes on MNEs in the UAE
The UAE has quickly emerged as a global commercial powerhouse and financial oasis. Multinational corporations (MNEs) are drawn to it because of its convenient location and friendly business environment. In addition to serving as a model for global trade, the UAE has created a tax system that sets it apart from many other nations.
The intricate details of corporate taxation become increasingly important to understand as multinational enterprises (MNEs) approach this economic hub. Let's look at the unique characteristics of the United Arab Emirates Corporate Tax Laws for Multinational Corporations. Come along for the ride as we explore the UAE's tax lanes, where savvy tax preparation meets economic potential. We will also examine a few of the intricate details and challenges with business tax for multinational corporations.
Why is Dubai becoming an increasingly popular destination for MNEs?
Despite the implementation of the international corporation Tax in the UAE in 2023, large multinational firms (MNEs) continue selecting Dubai as their regional headquarters.
Here are some reasons:
Strategic location: Dubai sits at the crossroads of three continents: Africa, Asia, and Europe. This makes Dubai an ideal starting point for enterprises looking to penetrate new markets.
Robust infrastructure: Dubai features cutting-edge ports, airports, and transit networks.
Business ease: Dubai has made it simple for foreign companies to establish and operate in the UAE. Companies can benefit from 100% foreign ownership, with no minimum capital requirement.
Tax benefits: Even though the UAE has established VAT and Corporation Tax, taxation rates remain quite low when compared to other wealthy nations. Multinational companies have access to a variety of tax breaks and incentives.
Lifestyle: Dubai offers a cosmopolitan atmosphere with a high standard of living. As such, it is a popular destination for international workers.
What is Corporate Tax?
Corporate taxes are another kind of direct taxation that is levied on the net revenue or profit generated by corporations and other entities via their operations. Businesses will be subject to UAE Corporate Tax laws from June 1, 2023, at the start of their first fiscal year. The UAE wishes to establish the CT for:
Strengthen its position as a key international commerce and investment hub.
Accelerate its growth and change to achieve its strategic goals.
Represent its commitment to upholding global tax transparency standards and eliminating unjust tax practices.
Required Records for Tax Compliance MNEs in UAE
To complete their corporation tax registration, Legal Companies must provide the following papers:
An authorized signatory's Emirates ID, if the person is a UAE resident.
Proof of authorization (POA/MOA) for the signatory's business or trade license.
The Passport
Businesses must align the date of incorporation with the company's founding date and report accurate shareholding percentages that match the owners' actual holdings, as required by the FTA. Businesses additionally have to disclose information about their tax periods. Companies that want to join a corporate tax group must register separately. According to FTA laws, they have to first register for a Tax Registration Number before establishing a Corporate Tax Group.
UAE Tax Incentives for Corporations
The following organizations are free from UAE corporate tax:
Companies that extract natural resources will continue to be subject to current Emirate taxation.
A UAE-based company earns capital gains and dividends on its eligible shareholdings.
If all parameters are met, qualified intra-group transactions and revisions will be free from CT.
The money that someone earns, including their salary and any other work-related earnings, whether from the public or private sector.
Foreign investors earn money through dividends, capital gains, interest, royalties, and other investment returns.
Individuals who own stock or other securities may earn dividends, capital gains, or other types of income.

In the days of the Judges famine came to the land and a certain man from Bethlehem of Judah went – he, his wife and his two sons – to live in the country of Moab. Elimelech, Naomi’s husband, died, and she and her two sons were left. These married Moabite women: one was named Orpah and the other Ruth. They lived there about ten years. Then both Mahlon and Chilion also died and the woman was bereft of her two sons and her husband. So she and her daughters-in-law prepared to return from the country of Moab, for she had heard that the Lord had visited his people and given them food. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law and went back to her people. But Ruth clung to her.
Naomi said to her, ‘Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her god. You must return too; follow your sister-in-law.’ But Ruth said, ‘Do not press me to leave you and to turn back from your company, for
‘wherever you go, I will go, wherever you live, I will live. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.’
This was how Naomi, she who returned from the country of Moab, came back with Ruth the Moabitess her daughter-in-law. And they came to Bethlehem at the beginning of the barley harvest.

Gospel Matthew 22:34-40 The commandments of love.
When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees they got together and, to disconcert him, one of them put a question, ‘Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?’ Jesus said, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets also.’

First Reading Isaiah 58:6-11 Then will your light shine like the dawn.
Is not this the sort of fast that pleases me – it is the Lord who speaks – to break unjust fetters and undo the thongs of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke, to share your bread with the hungry, and shelter the homeless poor,
to clothe the man you see to be naked and not turn from your own kin? Then will your light shine like the dawn and your wound be quickly healed over.
Your integrity will go before you and the glory of the Lord behind you. Cry, and the Lord will answer; call, and he will say, ‘I am here.’
If you do away with the yoke, the clenched fist, the wicked word, if you give your bread to the hungry, and relief to the oppressed,
your light will rise in the darkness, and your shadows become like noon. The Lord will always guide you, giving you relief in desert places.
He will give strength to your bones and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water whose waters never run dry.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 111(112):1-9
R/ Happy the man who fears the Lord. or R/ Alleluia!
Happy the man who fears the Lord, who takes delight in all his commands. His sons will be powerful on earth; the children of the upright are blessed.
R/ Happy the man who fears the Lord. or R/ Alleluia!
Riches and wealth are in his house; his justice stands firm for ever. He is a light in the darkness for the upright: he is generous, merciful and just.
R/ Happy the man who fears the Lord. or R/ Alleluia!
The good man takes pity and lends, he conducts his affairs with honour. The just man will never waver: he will be remembered for ever.
R/ Happy the man who fears the Lord. or R/ Alleluia!
He has no fear of evil news; with a firm heart he trusts in the Lord. With a steadfast heart he will not fear; he will see the downfall of his foes.
R/ Happy the man who fears the Lord. or R/ Alleluia!
Open-handed, he gives to the poor; his justice stands firm for ever. His head will be raised in glory.
R/ Happy the man who fears the Lord. or R/ Alleluia!

Either:
First Reading 1 Corinthians 12:31-13:13 The supremacy of charity.
Be ambitious for the higher gifts. And I am going to show you a way that is better than any of them.
If I have all the eloquence of men or of angels, but speak without love, I am simply a gong booming or a cymbal clashing. If I have the gift of prophecy, understanding all the mysteries there are, and knowing everything, and if I have faith in all its fullness, to move mountains, but without love, then I am nothing at all. If I give away all that I possess, piece by piece, and if I even let them take my body to burn it, but am without love, it will do me no good whatever. Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous; love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offence, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.
Love does not come to an end. But if there are gifts of prophecy, the time will come when they must fail; or the gift of languages, it will not continue for ever; and knowledge – for this, too, the time will come when it must fail. For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophesying is imperfect; but once perfection comes, all imperfect things will disappear. When I was a child, I used to talk like a child, and think like a child, and argue like a child, but now I am a man, all childish ways are put behind me. Now we are seeing a dim reflection in a mirror; but then we shall be seeing face to face. The knowledge that I have now is imperfect; but then I shall know as fully as I am known.
In short, there are three things that last: faith, hope and love; and the greatest of these is love.

The disciples came to Jesus and said, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ So he called a little child to him and set the child in front of them. Then he said, ‘I tell you solemnly, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. To add to this, I listened to the datamined voice lines the other night and he swears by a lot of gods and a hero or two: Tymora ('s grace?), Torm ('s truth), Ilmater ('s ashes), Kelemvor (May Kelemvor judge her justly), and Dhelt ('s virtue) to name a few. I chock that up to him being in an environment that heavily references these sorts of paragons i.e. this is literate church boy cursing.
He also swears in a guttural language which some speculate might be Infernal. Specifically when he uses "mragreshem." There was a line I had trouble understanding: "May the crows feed on you, you godsdamned zergnek (sic) bastard." (Altar boy turned into quite the soldier.)
There's a line you get with Wyll, if Zevlor meets him in the Secluded Chamber after his transformation.
Wyll: I paid the price of angering the wrong devil. Zevlor: Believe me, I understand better than most. Narrator: A moment passes as Zevlor contemplates Wyll's words... I have questions/speculation about what this implies. His lines about not needing a bodyguard, because this isn't Avernus (and the followup about monsters) does make me think that he definitely annoyed the devils there, which as a paladin was kind of his job.
I don't get the feeling that Zevlor was turned/revealed as a tiefling later in life, which can happen because of devilish shenanigans. (Surprise, your ancestor made a pact, and now you have horns lol). But that's wholly speculation. Now, I'm not entirely sure about these mechanics, but Helm, the patron god of the Hellriders, had been dead for about a hundred years. He was slain in a duel in 1384 DR, came back during the Second Sundering in 1486 DR, and BG3 takes place in 1492 DR. It wasn't a secret either. So maybe the Hellriders were borrowing power from other gods? Or the nature of a specific paladin oath negated the need for patron deity? Helm is also lawful neutral, despite his noted soft spot for children. He's the Watcher, and seen more as vigilant upholder of Order than actually being warm and kind.
So Zevlor was likely an Oath of Devotion paladin, the white knight type, full of ideals and wanting to do the right thing. His god and the Hellriders, however, are sworn to uphold order, and ousting the tieflings from Elturel post-Descent would help maintain order, as unjust as it was. It's very easy to see how situation could be maneuvered to break Zevlor's oath. And why would Elturel keep a tiefling paladin with a broken oath?
Now, in his best ending, Zevlor is back as a paladin, likely Oath of Devotion based on the buffs. How did Zevlor get his groove god back? And did he go back to Helm? Or did he find someone else? Not to bring up another broken old man, but we know Ketheric god-shopped, so it's a possibility. You get sad broken old man in Act II, and then suddenly he's a lot better of in Act III with no explanation. Not complaining, give this man some happiness, but that's a big shift.
(Look, I clearly want to explore this in fan-fiction, so I'm going to stop with the rampant speculation.)
Spoiler-ish? My cousin beat the game (I'm in act 3 but have some spoilers). This is his stat screenshot from endgame and we figured he was Oath of Devotion based on the buffs. His unnamed tiefling companions are listed as Hellriders, but he remains an exile. I have opinions on what broke his oath and how. But I did wonder if him leading the tieflings out of Avernus was his "last mission for Helm." I suspect being a Hellrider would have shielded him from being ousted (minus the broken oath, and his own sense decency). And the fact he brings two (veteran-looking) tiefling Hellriders implies that the Hellriders didn't push out all their tieflings.
The losing faith leads to losing your paladin status theory holds water, but I'm using something else in my fanfic.
Oooh thanks!
I haven’t actually reached endgame I’ve been avoiding it for like a month ORZ so I wasn’t sure if there was anything extra when the allies come to aid you.
Devotion was my initial assumption for my fic <3 although I do have certain things I’m writing for his oath restoration/replacement 👀
Elturel as a city exiled tieflings, but the Hellrider status of them could be up in the air or even depend on who you ask in Elturel vs Baldur’s Gate, which is a potentially interesting political tension: You have “tiefling’s don’t belong in Elturel” clashing with “Hellriders are for Life”
I assume the Riders, if at least tiefling Riders, would still consider themselves such, even begrudgingly with prejudice. I mean, the ones you have here plus Tilses is a Hellrider tiefling in the grove and looks young compared to Zevlor. There were some Riders who went to Baldur’s Gate prior to the Descent as well. Even if they don’t live in Elturel I suppose they have a sense of duty to continue to protect with a Hellrider pride.
Zevlor is an interesting case as the only one we see who is specifically stated as exiled.
The idea of the tiefling journey being his final mission I think adds weight to his desperation/devotion! It’s very “My final duty and final act as a Hellrider is to protect my people” and it could very well cost him his life (which is part of the point of rider final missions) so that probably has a lot to do with why he doesn’t bother including himself in future plans.
:’)
Not all Paladins are guided by or bound to gods or faith, its the Oath that’s important, but Zevlor is tied to Helm as a Rider.
He does mention Ilmater once or twice in lines, but I think that’s just a Faerûnian thing to acknowledge gods when cursing/talking about their domain, not necessarily being devoted.
His Oath may not necessarily be tied to Helm either but the Narrator implies the loss of both are connected, if not losing faith could have been the catalyst for breaking his Oath or vice versa then at least the loss of both tied to the Descent and/or tiefling exile.
I love this sad goat man

I so get the feeling with writing the chaotic neutral. Basically I go around being like “what they are not allowed to be made out of marshmallow and love at their core? This is BULLSHIT”
im not neccecarily saying that all characters -- even chaotic neutral ones -- have to be secretly soft! sometimes it’s fun to write Absolute Assholes (for example: theseus), my problem is mostly that
i create a character, in my head, he’s a asshole kid who’s got a shine in his eye for treasure hunting but has never actually done the deed, has a VASTLY incomplete and incorrect view on what that kind of work actually entails, is very much a kind of.... selfish cowardly asshole. i WANT him to work well with the rest of the PCS, but i also want him to not be a good person, or someone who is brave and defensive.
session one, the party discusses making booze out of forbidden apples, cheers eachother on as we leap over a trap pit, and fight large rats together. my character steals a kill from another by doing a badass jump-stab, promises to give that character the next kill, does so.
i dont think my problem is writing these characters that are dicks, i think it’s that i, at my core, am not someone who could approach a team-based game and be a problem, in any way. i need to be Helpful and that translates into my characters.
solo writing? sure, everyone’s a dick. a game like DND? i am.... not going to be that.
(there’s also the way i see the alignment grid, where being “evil” doesn’t neccecarily make someone a bad person. for me, the lawful-chaotic line is how much a character trusts/follows society’s rules, unspoken or otherwise, where good-evil is just selfless-selfish. if you’re evil, you put yourself first. if you’re good, you put everyone else first. hence, chaotic neutral rogues, who put themselves first because no one else will, who do not follow society’s rules because they do not trust that society will protect them. you could make a lawful good character a BBEG, just because they are so hung-up on the Rules, on following them, on punishing those who break them, who would hurt other people for the sake of Rules, because they believe that Rules is the way to help everyone else. very much a “dispicable acts for your own good” person. i’ve played in a campaign where one chaotic neutral character was basically my favorite character in the game, with a really really good complex characterization, not selfless but still good, and a different chaotic neutral was the textbook def of “murderhobo.” people see the alignment grid different, and that’s fine.)
#i love forte but whoo boy he's not who i envisioned#when i made him#that's not to say he DOESN'T cause problems#they're just problems bc he's a fucking idiot#ALSO god i dispise that meme that has lawful and neutral good being ''snooze zone''#if you dont know how to write interisting lawful good characters you're maybe just not a good writer#like fuck even my neutral good paladin in a campaign was fucking hard to play#because if i was playing her right she would've attacked and killed the party barb#or else broke her oath#how do lawful good characters struggle knowing that the laws they uphold are unjust!#how do people like that who NEED that code of ethics feel when that code betrays people#and: how do you reconsile having to break the ''lawful'' part of their character for the ''good'' part#and vice versa#how do you make that choice#also i dont. entirely like the good-evil label#just because someone who puts themselves first isn't neccecarily evil or a bad person#its ok to be selfish sometimes#i wanna play a neutral evil character who seems like they should not be evil#because. they'd do anything for Their People#they'd die for their friends/family#but that apparent selflessness is entirely selfish#because what they want beyond all else is for these people to Stay#and it is an entirely selfish motivation#that could even involve like. forcing partymembers to stick around.#if they die in a way that they accept#bring them back agianst their express wishes#ectect#fun!#Anonymous

you’ll never guess who’s done every interlude for every character they currently have
Anyway some extra thoughts
I’d be awful contracted w astraea bc she’d hit me with the ‘justice is impartial and about upholding laws/punishing sin’ and I’d start arguing about how we have a moral duty to break unjust laws and how ‘bad’ or ‘sinful’ behavior is incredibly inconsistent and dependent on cultural and social contexts as well as often being a tool weaponized by the ruling or majority class to oppress the minority, and ‘justice’ is more often than not used as a bludgeon to create unfair and unequal situations and overly penalize some while letting those who create scenarios where people are driven into breaking the law go free, and then she’d suplex me for being pedantic and annoying
Forbidden steppy
me too. girl he’s a rider stop making him fight assassins this is against osha
weird how they labeled boudica’s interlude with Romulus=quirinus’s name. Also weird how she doesn’t have any interludes herself 🤔. Stupid joke aside as much as I liked this actually respecting her, it was a.) a hair disappointing that she still isn’t allowed to be angry at the person who was actually emperor when the atrocities against her were committed (nero) b.) a hair disappointing if you wanted anything that was more a focus on romulus=quirinus. It was still good though
also dantes :)
#hint: help#anyway that’s all for now ig I’ll see you when they drop uhhhh kam interlude 2 and then uhhhhh junao interlude#my post

I don't know and I'm sorry if you have answered this before, but what do you think about toph being a cop, there's so much hate on it but I personally don't find it that wrong, I'm not sure tho I haven't seen korra yet. thank you:)
I'm going to be honest with you and say that I'm still pretty on the fence about this myself. I've spent a lot of time pondering it, but I'm still not sure where I stand, because I feel like there's an argument to be made both for and against it. Not sure if I'll be able to provide you with a straight answer, but I'm happy to provide some thoughts on both sides of the argument as well as on how and why I think she got into the field, my issues with the way the police force was run in LoK (under the assumption that it was built from the ground up by Toph herself), and what I would have done differently (or rather what I think Toph would have done differently that would have made it feel more in-character, if that makes sense).
The main argument as to why it's out of character for Toph to go into law enforcement is that in the original show she's portrayed as somebody who is anti-authoritarian and has no qualms about breaking the law. Kid Toph is very much a "fuck the rules" kind of person and dislikes being told what to do, so the idea that enforcing rules and regulations would become her future career is definitely confusing. Although I was also extremely confused at first, over time it's grown on me in a way and I can make sense of it. However, I agree that it's still not the most in-character and I can understand why a lot of people don't like it.
Although it's still up for debate as to whether or not she has the philosophy for the job, she absolutely has the skill set for it. I can see her enjoying getting to exercise her metalbending skills on a daily basis. Toph is in extremely good physical shape and is an athletic person who enjoys exercise, and having a physically-oriented job would definitely be good for her. She probably made an excellent detective as well, what with her lie-detecting abilities, seismic sense, and general fine-tuned observational skills. Oh and can you imagine being interrogated by Toph? Scary shit. There's also something to be said about how although Toph hates being told what to do, she absolutely loves being in charge and telling other people what to do. Like they say, "When you get sick of breaking the rules, you make the rules," which is sort of how I view Toph in this scenario. Toph is largely unhappy with a lot of the rules and regulations in society, so I think that if she were offered a position where instead of having to follow other people's rules, she would be able to create her own rules in a way she saw fit, I don't think it would be entirely out of character for her to take it. My headcanon is that she created the police force as a favour to Aang and Zuko because they asked her to and she wanted to feel like she was playing an important role in the founding of Republic City. Toph has many virtues, but humble she is not. I really do think she would enjoy the glory she received in such a high-profile position as the Chief of Police. Would she be passionate about the law, per se? Well no, but I think she would enjoy being able to exercise her unique skill set on a daily basis and would likely get a thrill out of bringing people like Yakone to justice. She would enjoy feeling important. Toph isn't someone I view as really wanting a long-term career, so I imagine her getting into the position was less "I want to be a cop!" and more "Welp, I need to get a stable career eventually, and Zuko and Aang really want me to do this for them, and hey I guess I'll get to metalbend everyday and oh I'll have lots of people to yell at and being in charge would be fun and you know what I don't trust anybody but myself to make the rules in this goddamn city so what the hell, I'll take it." I do think that people forget that Toph wasn't just a beat cop, she wasn't even just a detective. She was the Chief. And it wasn't as if she inherited the system from somebody else, it was quite literally a system of her own creation. She wasn't upholding somebody else's law either, she was creating her own laws. Toph was the law in Republic City, and there are few things that girl loves more than being in charge and telling other people what to do.
Now, as to how the Republic City Police Department was portrayed in LoK, it really didn't feel like a system of Toph's own creation like we're supposed to believe it was. Apparently it was largely inspired by the Dai Li, and the idea that Toph would create a system modelled after the Dai Li is preposterous. Toph hated the Dai Li and Ba Sing Se in general. The RCPD is largely "arrest now, ask questions later" and very focused on security, security, security, which just isn't Toph's style. I've seen people throw around the idea of an alternative system loosely inspired by the Kyoshi Warriors, which is something I do like, and I think Toph would as well. I don't think that Toph would really bother with petty day to day stuff like robberies. The main function of the police force under Toph's control would be to bring "real" criminals like Yakone who legitimately endanger the lives and safety of other people to justice. In fact, I can see Toph wanting to rehabilitate and give a second chance to "petty" criminals, especially youth (this is especially true when you take into consideration that she is somebody with a criminal past herself). As we see throughout the show and the comics, Toph is a forgiving person who gives second chances and will hear you out even when you don't feel as though you really "deserve" it. Hell, even if you are a "real" criminal, Toph would probably still hear you out and give you a chance to properly explain yourself. She's 100% the kind of person who would demand fair trial for every single criminal who comes into her custody, even the guiltiest of the guilty, because that's the kind of person that Toph is. In general I think she would likely be a controversial figure in Republic City who would routinely question every single law the council tried to pass. Toph would flat out refuse to uphold any and all laws she felt were unjust or unnecessary, which is part of the reason why having someone like her in the position would in some ways be beneficial.
To be completely honest as somebody who's read a ton of Toph-centric canon complicit post-ATLA-pre-LOK fanfiction, I've kind of just gotten used to the idea. In some ways it makes sense, in some ways it doesn't, and in my opinion it's far from the worst thing that LOK did to Toph's character. But that's just my two cents.

Rule's Aren't Morale's
Rules really aren't morals that's the one thing most people struggle with in the world they can't understand the two differences.
. . .
Most people in the world, confused following the rules and or following the law they have a website somewhere you go they want you to follow the rules with the same thing as being good morals.
. . .
Walls and rules are not the same things as moral code or a moral understanding.
If a website has unfair rules or is unjust in the way it goes about things and sees the innocent as the criminal and the criminal as the innocent then you would you have is a demonic website.
. . .
I find an extremely strange that it was civilian kills another civilian and wanted civilians was an evil Asshole that one's civilian that killed the other civilian is going to jail arrest his life but if a police officer does it they get all Scott free see if you're a police officer you get to kill any Asshole you kind of want.
. . .
But if you're a civilian and you try to do that you're going to jail the rest of your life and it's called first degree murder laws have no mercy for anyone who takes their moral code more seriously than they take the laws and you do website owners or social media sites they don't care for your morals either they don't care of what the right thing is they care for what the rules are with the money's coming in.
. . .
There is a reason why there is so much Injustice in the day human beings have become completely and absolutely in human nature they have become monsters crazy monsters Super Evil and out of mind !
As in they're out of their own mind.
. . .
You live in a world that is literally killing itself because you cannot have a world this Fuked up and it not come to an end I'm sorry you cannot start a campfire and not have the Log's convert themselves to Ash.
. . .
I don't care what can you get banned from I don't care what law you broke we are not cogs in a machine and because of all the riots going on in the America right now it is more and more proof that the system is dead.
. . .
The Blue knights that keep upholding Law and Order are soon to become targets of prey.
. . .
Everyone hates cops and everyone hates website owners like social media site owners who threatened the band their account when they got into a fight with someone else there was none of their business it was none of their business.
. . .
But someone reason some Asshole that owns the account I got to report for your account now gets a threat in your account and all that you did on that whatever good you did and it doesn't matter and you wonder why people turn the violence they're sick and tired of you and your Bullshit.
. . .
They're severely sick and tired of people butting in and destroying their property your account is your property, the rules of the site don't really matter your property matters it's your account it's your property the account doesn't really belong to the company because you put your own intellectual investment into it they don't have but the courts are 100% against its own people and you wonder why more and more the country is literally turning to rogue violence I mean like America slowly turning into a battlefield to where so much is holding your finger up and say you're breaking the rule's . . . Will get you will have you be rotting before the end of the day.
. . .
People are tired people are sick and tired of rules the sick and tired of unlimited challenges getting harder especially with the economy people are sick and tired of police officers coming around threatening them they're sick and tired of their their connection to other people the internet being extremely threatened by very frail and stupid fragile rules that are infinitely easy to break and you have so much to lose over so little that can be accidentally done.
. . .
No one is perfect and you're going to mess up eventually and when you mess up you lose everything and it's impossible for the human brain to balance everything is doing in his life on top of the fact everything goes on the internet that's not possible for the human brain the human brain can't do that.
. . .
So will be no surprise to me if very soon people start turning their guns and attacking the companies I mean I swear there's going to be like Mass terrorism here in America we're going to see a lot of actual companies kind of like Reddit or Instagram who knows might be next be burning like a police station.
. . .
Who knows you might even see game companies eventually get attacked next I mean like little like acts of like total war on them and when I say War, I don't mean legal fight I don't mean emotional conundrum I mean like someone I mean like a group of people grabbing guns and opening fire over the building that did them harm in the real world like people who work for the company no longer being alive because of the poor choices they made and banning someone else's account.
. . .
People getting tired, and trying to be over the head you have to be obedient that's the only good moral is absolute obedience people are not stupid most of them are not stupid if you believe absolute obedience is good will your sheep, You're Not a Human Being you're a cog you're a tool.
. . .
Although I'm not going to say that I am a human being I cuz I am not I do know ultimately you are not to be the slave to somebody else and being someone for slave is not a moral thing.
. . .
The corporations have gone so far and everyone is just tired of it they know they don't have any power so they're fighting back as hard as they can they know the courts are against them they know the cops are against them they know the government is against them they know the corporations are against them and you know what is causing Americans to go into war mode it's causing them to fight is causing slowly causing absolute pandemonium on the streets.
. . .
Your actions have consequences any of your multi-billion dollar corporation, it does not matter even if you are a multi-billion dollar social media or Internet corporation you're still immortal you still live you still breathe you still eat you still need to Shit.
. . .
You're still mortal as Fuck.
. . .
And people know that the humans know that they know that you're still mortal they know you have a limited lifespan like everybody else doesn't hurt doesn't matter how much green paper you can get the roll around it it's just paper it doesn't matter it's just paper the love of the love of green paper or the love of money is a root of all mental illness it's a rootable sickness.
. . .
And so I'm starting to see more and more violence pop up as long as he more and more people may death threats against even game company because they lost their account there's too many rules in America right now or at least permanently.
. . .
There's too many rules as too many laws it's too easy to Fuck Up !
. . .
And people are really tired of the authoritarianism people are tired of not being able to kind of do whatever they want people to a degree that all of them now to a degree have a moral compass of what's right and wrong, again not all of them.
. . .
But on top of it all, I just thought I'd let you know that it's just one of the many steps that proves that the world is coming to an at least, America is coming to an End.

This is the reality that black people have had to live with for hundreds of years, but I think white people are finally starting to realize that civil liberties can be suspended at any time. The powers that be are not your friend. The institutions which are ostensibly set up to keep you safe are actually there to keep you in line and punish those who even think about stepping a toe over. There is no justice in the United States, and there never will be if we allow these institutions to remain as they are. Things are not hopeless, we CAN force fundamental change, nothing is too big or too deeply ingrained to be gotten rid off. Monarchy was the law of the land, until it wasn’t. Chattel slavery was the law of the land, until it wasn’t. Militarized police forces are the law of the land, until they aren’t.
It is no secret that laws are arbitrarily enforced, disproportionately effecting people of color; this is a not a bug, this is a feature. The system was designed like this on purpose, “it’s okay when WE do it, not when YOU do it.” There’s an old adage that rings true now more than ever; if a law is unjust, then you must break it. If your opponent is cheating, you can’t win by playing by the rules. The rules have been thrown out; if they’ve decided not to follow them, you are under no obligation to do so either. You don’t get Civil Rights Points for taking the “moral high ground.” You can’t shame your enemy into complying with the handicap they force upon you. Nobody should uphold their own shackles. In for a penny, in for a pound; the current justice system makes little distinction between peaceful and violent protests, so what incentive do we have to remain civil?
Burn it down.
