Tonight on I Would Fucking Die For My Hamster:

It thunderstormed tonight, and Ziggy was afraid of the lightning. He was huddled up by the door of his cage- which he never does- looking sad/depressed. He didn't budge when I opened the cage, not even when I touched him, so I grabbed him and took him out myself instead (which I NEVER do. I always let him come out on his own when he's ready). He didn't struggle or fuss or anything when I grabbed him- he just let me and was totally stiff and still.

I cupped him in my hands and held him against my face, to which he crouched down even further and hid underneath my fingers, staying there in order to feel safe. He was all scrunched up, warm and loved, and sheltered from the big scary bright flashes. He stayed like this for a solid two minutes before deciding he was okay
