It's a canon event in Gabs' history so I'll leave the context even though ✨️ nobody cares ✨️. . . Before retiring because of her children, Gabs was a sidekick at Hawks' agency. Although he was a very skilled hero, she really had the quirk to be a good sidekick and help out mainly with rescues, which led him to take her along on bigger missions, and always emphasize how much he appreciated her efforts. Before they started dating, he noticed that sometimes she would draw little sketches that didn't really have anything to do with the mission, or she would do some art on her face that was different from the red eyeliner she always wore, and when he asked her why, she just said "I only make art for things I like". When they actually started dating, she did everything she could to keep calm in public (because it was complicated for them to let people know) but she did everything she could to make him feel loved and appreciated, even indirectly, because she's not good at talking about feelings. That's the context. . . Yeah, she's a total simp for her boyfriend, she doesn't know how to receive a compliment without getting all silly and saying she hates him, but I love this dynamic very much, sorry-
