🇺🇸Christ the Redeemer is an art deco statue depicting Jesus Christ, located at the top of Corcovado Hill, 709 meters above sea level, in Tijuca National Park, overlooking most of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2007 it was informally elected as one of the seven wonders of the modern world. In 2012 UNESCO considered Christ the Redeemer as part of the Rio de Janeiro landscape included in the list of World Heritage Sites. The monument was conceived by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa and built in collaboration with French sculptor Paul Landowski and fellow engineer Albert Caquot, between 1922 and 1931.
