The first name-based family that changed their name to fit the theme: tree parts-based

Nutkit was born in the Dark Forest. He grew up to be Nutwhisker, and as an apprentice bonded with Sharppaw, who had lived but died as an apprentice. Nutpaw comforted him through arriving in the Dark Forest and they grew close.

Sharppaw became Sharpdusk, but something didn’t feel right. Then they found out about the family names, and confessed to Nutwhisker that he felt more like a she, and that Sharp felt like a reminder that it wasn’t true.

Nut assured that it WAS true, and that she could always change her name. She landed on Pinedusk, because it’s also part of a tree, like nuts, and families share names here.  That was the way that she confessed, and they became mates shortly after.

Their kits are Barkwing, Branchsoot, Rootsorrel, and Acornhill
