I know realistically fallout 4’s cast of companions would destroy a settlement if they were left alone there for too long together but I think it’s even funnier if they are aggressively playing nice because they are all connected 6 degrees from Kevin Bacon style through the Sole Survivor.
It’s like they are all collectively dating this one person who happened to just bag people from like every possible political opposite but ig they won’t try and shoot each other for the day cause it makes SS smile when they see them getting along or whatever.

Dunno if this is something you've been asked before but how does our favorite post apocalyptic beanboy and his most excellent gal celebrate Halloween in the Commonwealth?
It's been a long time since we talked about this in detail (probably in 2014-15?) but I think we established that many traditional American holidays were lost in the Great War (people were more concerned with surviving, obviously). A lot of these celebrations were kept alive by Vault residents however. Buttons does his best to inspire his fellow Arefu settlers to celebrate Halloween to some extent and Meg plays along, even if it makes no sense to her. The budget Brahmin has to be my favorite Halloween post so I did a quick redraw:
Tumblr media
Buttons had a couple other Halloween costumes since 2014:
Butt-O-Ween skeleton
Slutty Molerat
Hancock (aka raunchy mayor)
GTA Online Buttons is a sexy cat every year

are there any like
young Boston Brahmins anymore
I mostly know three categories of young people from Brahmin families:
descended from Not That Branch of a family with a Brahmin surname (it's me hi)
descended from Yes That Branch of a family but they moved out of Boston
descended from Yes That Branch of a family but they came from the brother who gambled away his cut of the fortune, so the brooch Isabella Stewart Gardner gave their great-great-grandmother as a wedding present was sold long ago and now they're normal
and I know two categories of Boston Brahmins, ie People from the Brahmin Families Who Still Live In the Boston Area and are Still Wealthy:
elderly and moved to a modern house on the Cape or something
elderly and still clinging to the ancestral townhome on Beacon Hill (YES GOOD FIGHT THE FLIPPERS. IT'S NOT GOING TO BECOME A MUSEUM OR AFFORDABLE HOUSING; THEY'RE JUST GOING TO WRECK THE INTERIOR AND SELL MILLION-DOLLAR CONDOS IN THERE)
they don't control the city anymore, which would be a good thing if not for the fact that now douchebag tech billionaire investors have stepped into fill the gap. but some of them still have money. I think the problem is that wealthy young people nowadays mostly aren't interested in the sort of noblesse oblige, Nothing Ever Changes Except They've Become Genteelly Progressive lifestyle that characterizes Boston Brahmindom
anyway this is why I would make such a good Amory, Lowell, or Warren and one of the families should have an eligible gay daughter who wants kids and will marry me. I would preserve the ancestral manse and redirect a portion of the fortune into investments in green energy. also I would advocate for demolishing Government Center to rebuild Scollay Square, with all store space and housing at the equivalent of the rents in the 1960s when it was gentrified.
additionally I would workshop a less 19th-century-Orientalist term than "Boston Brahmins" among all the other families. they're Genteelly Progressive, so this should go over well. my current proposal is The Sargent Squad
thank you for coming to my TED Talk

There was this insane ass woman on here that was big in like desi south Asian tumblr lol she was very clearly a hindutva but managed to pass it off as making sure people didn’t “culturally appropriate hinduism” and claimed you had to be born into it can’t convert it’s an ethnoreligion etc etc classic but anyway she ig followed the hinduism tag and would write actual ten paragraph manifestos on anyone who wasn’t south Asian and was in those tags it’s so funny and tragic to me to imagine being a random super normie white convert or even just some1 who like bought a tarp w ganesh on it at a smoke shop innocuously posting a selfie with it and suddenly an insane woman is doing fascism on your post LMFAOOOOO

The kind of Vaishnavism that I like the most has to be the neo-Vaishnavite/Ekasarana Dharma movement in Assam led by Xrimonto Xonkordev (Srimanta Sankardev). Why? Cuz:
1. It is openly anti-caste/varna and anti-Brahminical Hinduism. (There are a few denominations that can be considered exceptions though)
2. Xonkordev translated the major Hindu scriptures and epics to Assamese and shared them openly to the people of the lower castes and marginalized groups.
3. Monastries (Xotros/Satras) that were set up by him are governed and controlled by non-Brahmin priests (Xotraadhikaris) (Dokkhinpat Xotro is probably an exception rn cuz as far as I'm aware it's a Brahmin Vaishnav who runs it currently. Not sure tho)
4. One of the denominations, the Kala Sanghati, is known for incorporating several tribal and socially oppressed groups into this neo-Vaishnavite movement. This denomination was one of the most vocally anti-monarchist groups and hence led the famous Moamoria rebellion against the Ahom royalty.
5. This last point is personal to Assamese culture mostly, to which this movement, and especially Xonkordev, contributed generously through his composed borgeets (devotional songs), ghuxas (poetic works, and Naam Ghuxa and Rotnovoli were composed by his pupil, Madhovdev), social revolution against casteism and consolidating all ethnicities and religions (including Islam) into his movement.
Now there were indeed several problematic practices in this movement here and there, as is the case of any religious movement, but it is still one of the most persisting unorthodox, non-Brahminical sects of Hinduism till date.
