post s3 headcannon: Lio and song are still working on reversing the cure and 10 years later they succeed. Although there are side affects with those affected suffering from amnesia with no memory of previous lives.

Waiting for years to have the chance to get a loved one who was cured back only for it to finally work but now your loved one doesn’t remember who you are

Being a mindless animal for 10 years and suddenly you have full consciousness and you’re not really sure what’s going on but the people around you seem to know you and care for you and they tell you you were like this before but you can’t for the life of you remember the events they tell you about or even who they are

Margot being brought back and seeing wolf and not knowing who she is and not understanding why people don’t seem to trust her near the girl

Brad being brought back and desperately trying to remember ratland because this other rat who claims to be his best friend seems to passionate about it and he doesn’t want to let her down

Billions coming back and understanding logically that of course this other wolf with the same name who looks just like him must be his brother like he says he is. Wanting to get back to being a family but having to relearn everything he once knew about science and feeling so far behind the other newton wolves

anyone else think the rat you see not wearing any clothes at the end of kipo, during the timeskip, is brad?

the show makes a point to show the more important cured mutes living happily with their friends. there's yumyan still perched on molly's shoulder. and there's bad billions in the room with lio and song.

but when we see amy in line at benson's little restaurant.... there's no brad!!! (don't talk about how rats typically live for 3 years. don't talk about how the timeskip is 5 years. don't do that. that's not allowed here.)

this rat. looks JUST LIKE HIM!!!!!!! picking up a cake! for what? celebration? regaining your former life? a rebirthday party?

there's nothing else that points to it being true but alas. every time i rewatch the ending i go "BRAD???" and in my heart of hearts. they've found a cure for the cure and are ready to go forward with returning the other cured mutes to their former selves

I finished kipo and the age of wonderbeasts earlier and to be honest it left me feeling kind of disappointed in some ways but I do think Wolf specifically is one of my favorite characters just like. In general. I love her <3

There's just something about character's whose aspirations are fulfilled only when they are no longer around to see it.

In Steven Universe, Rose wanted everyone to be free to be who they are. She died ("gave up her physical form") thinking that was never going to happen.

In She-Ra, Mara wants Etheria (and the rest of the universe) to be free from the grasp of colonists and dictators. She ultimately died knowing that it wouldn't be enough.

In Kipo, this can be seen with Hugo, Brad, Yumyan, and all of the other "cured" mutes.

And then, years down the line, their hopes for a better world are fulfilled. And they aren't around to see it.

They will never know that the world they so desperately yearned for exists. And the people that love them will never be able to let them know.

And in some of these, it's made so much worse by the fact that for this world, the world they want to see, to exist, they had to die.

Rose Quartz could never have been the symbol needed to truly change the Diamond's minds. If Mara hadn't sacrificed herself, Etheria wouldn't have lasted long enough to be saved.

And that's the inherent tragedy in it. Not one road led to their happiness. And yet, the world that they would have been happy in now exists.

just finished Kipo for the hundredth time and it STILL drives me nuts that the cured mutes are still cured at the end. You CANNOT look me in the eye and tell me Song and Lio would not be absolutely dedicated to reverse engineering the cure to restore the mutes. What the fuck, man. It's been five years. Everyone should be back. This is the only thing I don't accept from canon.

You know i think from the cured mutes the worst ones we're brad and bad billions

Brad: mostly since amy lost noth ratland and brad who died during the timeskip i like to headcanon that the new ratland has a brad memorial statue

Bad Billions: mostly since he took the shot for good billions abd thise last words words of his about feeling like a star fading atleast he still in the observator with gb in the timeskip though i headcanon that good billions still is desperately trying to get his brother

brad and bad billions are definitely two of the saddest of the cured mutes, brad ESPECIALLY just makes me... sad. he wasn't even doing anything, he believed in peace between species and then..... yeah

but i'd also like to say what happened to yumyan was very sad and i'm still not over it- though i AM happy that molly still brings him around and takes care of him <3

and then, another one that got me was camille, and how cotton desperately wanted her to be able to fight the cure off like a venom. and how she had to run afterwards to avoid getting hit herself :')

...and then laughing every fucking time scarlemagne is on the screen, because yes, great character, imposing threat, sad backstory and whatnot, but WHY IS HIS FACE LIKE THIS
