I think it was just the 2000s fatphobia but the Princess Diaries books really gave me a skewed idea of what boob sizes are like.

The girls would go on about how the fat character's C cups were huge, which was only a shock to me when I found out I was a DDD in middle school.

I'm not even fat, I'm average.

The people who measure you will lie about your results if you don't have a size thats inside the store/if they don't want to admit their intial guess was wrong

I was always mismeasured and told I was D cup

Learned how to measure myself and turns out I was a fucking H (I now because my waist got smaller)

You take your under bust/waist measurement. This is your band size. If it's an odd number then go down or up 1 by what feels comfortable

Then you take your bust / chest measurement, it needs to go around the fullest part and you may need something to hold your boobs up.

Then you are going to subtract under bust from bust

J is typically the biggest in America and it usually has to be special order unless you have a large band size as well

I always have to order online because my size is never in stock though

Layne Byrant is typically a good store to get bigger sizes from but don't let them measure you of you have a small waist. They will size you wrong

Options are US cup sizes– we're well aware there are multiple measurement systems around the world, but this is probably the most widely known on tumblr.

Despite how much band size affects relative cup size, this is only asking about cup size.

I know all the reasons why Shein is awful and horrible, believe me, but there are reasons I buy things from there and this is one of them. They have Luvlette bras and they're between $10-25 and they are made in all the colours and they go up to an H cup and they're strong, durable, comfortable and supportive.

I've never seen them elsewhere.

You have to do some size conversion, the conversion chart can be iffy particularly if you're actually not wearing the right size to begin with, which most people aren't. Depending on how the bra is made I'm a 38F or a 36G, or in Luvlette I'm like a 85-90 and the cup is either G or H.

(Bra size is determined by underbust size subtracted from bust size to get the cup size, but if your boobs are lorge enough that your breast tissue extends under your arms and you can't fit two underwires between your girls, your underbust size is not your actual underbust size and if you are wearing a bra with wires in it they will hurt like hell unless you go down a band size and up a cup size, then scoop your entire boob into the cup as you put it on, which is why if I have to wear underwires I am wearing a front-closing bra. So in a wireless bra I can do 38 underbust, but in a wired bra I have to do 36 and at least a G cup or ouch. Yes this actually means my real size is 36G, but my wireless 38Fs really do do the job just fine.)
