BACKGROUND

BOYS4U, often stylized as B4U, is an American vocal group and boy band formed in Orlando, Florida in 2010. The group consists of THE LEADER, THE CUTE ONE, THE BAD BOY, THE DORK, and THE HEARTTHROB. They became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time and rose to fame with the release of their international debut album, Up All Night (2011). Following the departure of a member amidst their "On the Road" tour and the release of their fifth studio album, the group announced an indefinite hiatus in 2016.

Known for their chart-topping hit singles and record-breaking studio albums, BOYS4U reached mainstream success with their teen-pop, R&B, electronic, and later, pop-rock sound. Additionally, each member was unofficially assigned a color by fans during their appearance on Good Morning America in 2012: red, blue, yellow, green, and purple.

With rumours that the group might be headed for a reunion, each member has their own reasons why they might want the band back together—or, why they want to avoid the entire affair like the plague.

THE MEMBERS

THE HEARTTHROB (red): the unofficial face of the band and the most popular member by a mile. typically considered the most attractive and charismatic of the group with the biggest fan following. allegedly, there were rumours surrounding their very close relationship with another member of the group. the one most likely to be the breakout star and go on to reach critical acclaim from the general public. fun fact: came up with the name of the group! age range: 29-30 career inspos?: harry styles, justin bieber, jung kook

THE BAD BOY (purple): the edgy one. the rebel. hits the bad boy archetype to a tee with their trademark leather jacket and a distinctive style that stands out from the rest of the group. might have been the one who wanted to be in the group the least and the first one to leave as the others continued on as a four-piece band. the one most likely to be caught in the tabloids with a shockingly flattering mugshot. fun fact: he has a marvel anti-hero based on him! age range: 29-30 career inspos?: dominic fike, zayn, joe jonas

THE CUTE ONE (yellow): sunshine incarnate lives in this member. they embody an innocent, youthful persona for teenage girls to swoon over. as the youngest, they're marketed as the stereotypical boy next door with their lop-sided smile and uncanny ability to hit an ear-shattering falsetto. the one most likely to come out after the group disbands. fun fact: much to the ire of the other members, they were the only one chosen to keep a sponsorship with nintendo! age range: 28-29 career inspos?: ryan beatty, troye sivan, omar apollo

THE DORK (green): is somehow considered to be the nerdy one, for whatever reason. maybe it was because he might have been the one coming up with the majority of the band's music and lyrics. or, maybe it was that every other stereotype was taken. was often overshadowed by his fellow members and, thus, was thought to be shy and introverted—even though he was the songwriting "brains" behind the entire operation. despite this, he could be the member still holding on to the glory days of BOYS4U. the one most likely to do podcast appearances revealing intimate details about the group that he really shouldn't be doing. fun fact: he also has a relatively famous sibling/cousin! age range: 29-30 career inspos?: liam payne, brent faiyaz, jack harlow

THE LEADER (blue) / JAIME BLUE "JB" LINCOLN: the de facto older brother of the group. as the oldest, he was responsible for keeping everyone in check and offering an ear for other members. considered to be an afterthought and pushed to the background in favour of his more popular bandmates. might not be the most talented singer or dancer, but was the glue that kept the band together. the one most likely to shy away from the spotlight. fun fact: spends most of his days out in his cabin in the middle of nowhere! age range: 31 career inspos?: city and colour, noah kahan, bon iver
