fairy physiology was a mystery for most people and, for a good reason :  they like it that way.   they were beings of pure magic, pure power, and the surrounding mystery aura was an unseen shield against anyone that could dream of harming them. 

usually, sugar had a blast when humans asked her what was true.    do they actually need attention to survive?  do they actually live in trees?    are they really immortal?   can they trap people with only their names?    do they really kidnap babies?    the fairy was used to just laugh it off and lead them on, finding it funny to see how far their imagination could take them when it comes to fairy lore. 

but she found out that day that, perhaps, she should’ve taken humans more seriously.               scratch that.   what she learned that day was that she should’ve never left neverland. 

she wouldn’t be able to fly back home even if her breath wasn’t shortened.  she could barely walk.  two twins scars marked the place in which her wings once were, the phantom burn from the iron that ripped them off her body still stabbing daggers on her lungs every time sugar took a breath. 

on the same beat that her blood gushed out from the slash on her stomach, the iron dagger standing out like she was impaled, burying itself deeper with every movement the fairy did, as still as she was trying to be.

                                                                     “ you hav-    you have to take me back  ...     peter.   peter,  don’t let me die here. ”             her voice was no more than a whisper, but there’s still resolve in it, the safe fire still burning in her eyes.       she refused to die in the human world.                                          “ i can’t -   there’s no way i’m healing.  it’s too much, and it’s iron and -     just don’t let me die here. fuck.   killed by a fucking human, in the fucking human world ?     that’s not how i wanna go ”

ooc: @boylost now has got me thinking about slightly and forgetting, and how i have it written its not necessarily that he “forgets” which is a concept i took entirely from the fact that he lies about how much remembers and RAN WITH IT but its more along the lines of those memories are blocked (which depends entirely on when you interact with him) most of the time in his verses you get slightly lying to you about what he remembers because his memories are likely unblocked. i only say this cause anything after the darlings’ initial visit to neverland has slightly with all his memories.

also think this is partially why i changed slightly’s url to hesthefox from forgetisms (also helps with people to recognize who slightly is from a larger viewpoint LOL)
