The only thing Hofnarr had going on with him in life was being autistic asf which led him to being very skittish and socially withdrawn but academically superior, and being autistic still applies to Tricky, though he doesn't face the same challenges nor have the same academic desires he did when he was alive bc of him lowkey being a reality bending God atp lmao. He can do whatever he wants now so if something clashes with the autism negatively then he can instantly get rid of it (I'm not projecting)

Aside from that, the only afflictions he's got going on are what you'd expect of a fuckin 60 year old rotting zombie lol

He is still the genius he was when he was Hofnarr! And he's not trying to hide it or anything like that! His interests have just shifted from the academic world to frivolous things that bring him instantaneous satisfaction, like DJing and Partying and Killing People, obvs lol. This isn't to say he doesn't still get enjoyment out of flexing his brain and putting his smarts to use, he just acts much more on impulse and short term dopamine rushes, as opposed to how Hofnarr acted mainly on careful methodical planning and long term dopamine cycles.

He had a thing going on with Jeb when he was still Hofnarr, though neither of them really "pursued" it in a very Definitive or Official capacity. It was very much a "What are we?" kind of situation ykwim. He did of course care very deeply for Christoff but Jeb was too emotionally closed off to truly let him in like that, so it was mainly relegated to chance intimate moments and the occasional heat of the moment "incidents" lol, but they missed out on something real. Tricky, even now, knows there's a part of him that still feels that way for Jeb but he knows damn well that they're not gonna have what they could've all that time ago, so he's more content to just playfully tease him and dick around and get on his nerves than pursue something more, Jeb can't keep up with Tricky's insanity the same way others could. This esp applies in dad au, where Jeb is essentially Boxxy's second dad since he helped raise her, but he's not "with" Tricky like that.

Despite what you'd expect of a homicidal freak like Tricky is, he's incredibly social and down to hang and do whatever cause he's always in search of a good time! Except if he's pissed off about something with Hank or the AAHW but I digress. Dude fuckin loves clubbing and headlining sets for them, he loves breaking it down on the dancefloor, of course half the time he parties it ends in him fuckin massacring the joint he's chilling at but tbh, maybe you just need to get used to the "killin" part of "chillin n killin"

The visual of the static and words that pops up around him in the series obvs is just a cool visual thing with him but I like to think that he can just like…do that shit lol. Like if he so feels inclined, he'll project screams and static into the minds of people, which effects them in such a way where their brain functions are numbed to hell and they practically cease being able to make decisions, form thoughts, or even use brain power to move their bodies n shit, and they're just subjected to internal screaming in addition to whatever the fuck Tricky feels like doing to them.

Whenever he scuffles with Hank, he Especially tries to not use any cheap tricks to get a leg up over him, bc Hank is one of the few people who can actually give him a challenge in a fight and that makes things WAAAAAAY more exciting and fun, so doing some underhanded shit he could easily pull bc of his reality bending powers just makes shit less fun, and he values fun over anything else. Unless Hank actually manages to piss him the fuck off during a fight, in which cause He won't give a fuck anymore, and he'll go full fuck it we ball mode n try whatever to kill his ass, like going flame demon mode n chasing him n shit like that

When he talks he audibly uses tone indicators out loud, like verbally saying "slash J" or "slash Joke" out loud when he speaks. he doesn't do it to be courteous or whatever he just thinks its sounds funny as hell

do you have any ideas as to how leica and cath (or any of your other characters!!) would sound like? im very curious! i love your art and ocs btw

thank you for the compliment, ive made posts before talking about voices and such for characters, but currently i think that cath's voice is on the lower side, soft and quiet most of the time. she also speaks with a bit of a lisp and a stutter. if theres anything to compare it to, maybe Ohno's dub voice in the genshiken anime? leica talks fast and has a high, nasal, feminine voice. she's a mutterer, talks to herself under her breath a lot. a little bit like velma from scooby doo. ill go over other characters too just for the hell of it , erin has a boisterous, loud and extremely expressive voice. she shouts when she talks and laughs out loud at a disturbing volume. other then that, her voice is a little gruff and raspy, and medium-high pitch. brie.... uhhh... im just gonna say brie sounds like how you'd expect a mouse to sound. high pitched and she talks sorta like... Boxxy? i guess? i love brie but i havent put that much thought into her yet so thats subject to change lol.

I wanted to first talk about the thing I was probably the least proud of which is the background. If I take off all of the shading, then it would just be a dark blue room with only a bed, a Kelly, and a drawer (With an alarm clock on top). I could have done some type of abstract background like I did for the other two drawing I made (The one for Prince’s birthday and the previous attack I made) but since I wanted to add the drawer and the alarm clock, I just said “Welp…guess we just hope it looks good?” That’s actually just me every time I make art, I just have to hope 🤣 I had also just personally thought that the shading would ruin the kind of background I wanted so……yeah pffft.

I mentioned previously that I couldn’t draw beds and I’m sure that now it shows 😭 I STRUGGLED to make that bed work oh gosh that was a horrible time. I DID however have a very fun time with the outline brush that I used in the drawing. I loved that thing it was so fun to draw with it but I didn’t want it to be excessive so I tried not to use it too much.

There weren’t really any other plans when I was planning on drawing Kelly, I just saw insomniac and thought “Yeah so I’ll just imitate what I do when I can’t sleep!” I don’t consider myself an insomniac but everyone’s done this before, right? You’re just somehow up for 8 hours scrolling on your phone pffft. Not much more I can say but I really hope you enjoy my art!

Honestly, the main issue I have with the enshittification of social media is that it accelerates the epidemic of people ignoring the fact that there are real human beings on the other side of the screen. Previously-social corners on the internet become these faceless corporate places where people mistreat other users by dealing with them with the same lack of respect they would have for NPCs or chat bots. The internet used to feel like a series of clubs or casual hangouts, and now it's unrecognizable. (You can't even Google shit anymore, it's literally such a husk of what it was even just 5 years ago...)

Lately, just about any platform but tumblr really hurts. It hit me earlier today, when I checked my reddit notifications for the first time in a year--something I've avoided more and more over time. I remembered how even though people can be really lovely and nice and helpful, so many people just want to send hate to every other user they see, EVER. All of the music production subs I follow (which have tons of people getting into music for the first time) are methodically downvoted into the negatives for no reason, even when all the comments are kind. Often, though, half the comments are just trolls, and it's so out of hand that even nicer areas of the site are overrun unless they're super big with tons of active mods. There's just so much hate there.

And strangely so, with YouTube, there's so much fascist bs recommended to me even though I always click "Don't recommend this channel" about 20 times a day now, and my algorithm was (luckily) devoid of all that shit for years. And yes, I've cleared my YouTube history and data using the (somewhat secret) Google feature that makes it so old stuff you saw has no affect on your algorithm, so I know that it's not because I watched boxxy once a decade ago (Isn't it so odd how the weirdest microcelebrities turn into right wing grifters?). It just hurts emotionally to go anywhere except tumblr anymore, or directly to one of your favorite YouTuber's channels.

Loosely related: Strangely enough, on reddit I post and comment MINIMALLY yet I have super high karma. No matter what I write, no matter how simple it is, or how few people use that sub, it gets an inordinate amount of attention. I'm not even internet humblebragging, I literally couldn't give a shit less about reddit karma. It'd be like if every day of my life I found a penny face-up in a parking lot. Mildly interesting and unlikely, but I can't really do anything useful with this odd and random sort of luck I seem to carry???

I can write the silliest thought that comes to mind in a random comment section just as a cheerful joke or similar, and people eat it up. I get reply after reply from other people joining in on the fun, or looking to share info or life experiences, yet 1 in 10 people is devoutly trying to spread hate. It just bums me the fuck out. Imagine how shit real life would be if every few people you bumped into was trying to verbally abuse you. It just about sums up most social media sites nowadays though.

3 members of The Squad have been jokingly called the Mythicals (due to the thing about Boxxie playing trombone, Flaqky being a bassoonist, (she STILL can't spell) and Stereo being a vocalist (basically Strombonin, G'joob, and Yawstrich)

there's a Helluva Boss universe of The Squad. (as in Stereo being Stolas, Flaqky being Blitzø, Etno being uh.. STELLA.. Boxxie being Moxxie (as a joke since Boxxie is js Moxxie but the M is replaced with a B, and Boxxie is an angel while Moxxie is uh, an IMP. and Wander as Millie)

^ i forgot to add Salt and Pepper and also Splendoes because i forgot they existed plus they're both my OCs and they barely count as TS members. (in common with Etno.) but Splendoes, although a 2 year old, would be Loona since she canonically IS adopted by Flaqky.
