Love this #Repost @oldscoolmoves with @get_repost ・・・ Challenge 5 of my #bottomsupchallenge : Be fluid and try something you find challenging, for whatever reason. . This one is for my new friends @andrewparr and @chidiogo_oo who challenged me to show them “my moves.” They did this with kindness and encouraging eyes. I’ve only recently discovered that I love to dance and I’m still a little embarrassed by it. I come from the era of the white guy shuffle and moving out of that constraint is liberating but also a little scary. Fear of judgment, you know. . What the heck. If you laugh, then I’ve made you laugh and that’s good. But how about taking on my challenge? Try to move with as much fluidity, grace, rhythm and juiciness as you can. You don’t have to dance, (but I’d love to see your moves). You could walk, or roll, or fold laundry, or chop onions or do the vacuuming. The knee circles that are wonky, in this case, not the knees themselves (but the wonky-kneed among us can benefit from this game. I know because I belong to that clan). . Warm up with some regular knee-washing/knee-circles. Then keep one foot where it is but plant the other foot at a distance and/or angle that is different. Play around with foot angle, distance from the body and placement of the foot beside, in front of or behind the other one. And don’t forget to change up direction of circling, too. Try to be strict about straightening (but not hyperextending) the knees. . If you are at all like me, you’re going to make some interesting discoveries.
