#both the bandsaw and the grinder have water in them to keep the blade/bit wet

what kind of knife do you need for stained glass work? Not sure what would cut glass
So tldr: you can't cut glass!
Basically, glass Really doesn't cut, it just breaks, so you use a glass cutter (misnomer) which is a tool that holds a small, very thin, metal wheel. You run that wheel along the surface of the glass to create a score line about as deep as a human hair is wide. you can then break the glass along that line using a pair of curved pliers, the edge of your work surface, or your hands depending on the size/shape. Different shapes are harder or easier, but you can always just get it about right, and then take the piece to the grinder to refine the shape further. (You will usually grind every piece at least a little to make them safer to work with/knock off any tiny shards that might be sticking to the edges)
Or you can use a bandsaw with a diamond blade, for especially tricky shapes on small pieces this is basically the only real option. The 'blade' is more of a very thin file and grinds away the glass in a very small area instead of actually cutting anything,
