Daily reminder to my followers that if you like my content it’s because I’m pulling inspiration from incredible yet relatively obscure sources
pathologic is a Russian game with only a tiny English speaking audience partly propelled by a British YouTuber making a video essay about why HE likes it so now at least half of the English speaking audience are also fans of that guy who decided to see for themselves what he was talking about (thank you hbomberguy)
Fran bow is a game which saw relative success like seven years ago because the ten popular YouTubers passed it around for awhile, but the game has mostly failed to secure a large longterm audience due to killmondaygame’s being a small team who is doing a great job but not providing what little fandom their games have much to chew on, which is to say they have made uh. Two games, THEYRE BOTH AMAZING but that only gets a fan base so far…
Fear and hunger is a game by a Finnish dude named Miro Haverinen in RPG maker and it’s great! It also contains like every trigger warning known to man and the gameplay is extremely punishing so very few players ever get to the good bits. Its sequel fear and hunger 2 is even better and slightly less but still very very explicit in its content. Just to give an example my favorite character from these games is a former child solider and heroin addict
The Rusty lake games are a little known but often played series of puzzle games split between the “cube escape” and “rusty lake” collections of games, a lot of people have played one or two of these games as they’re good puzzle games available on mobile but very few people have played all of the games and figured out that they share a coherent, ongoing storyline, and aren’t just random weird shit happening in a creepy puzzle game. I own and have played all… hold on let me check something … sixteen! There are sixteen games in the series, they’re all good except Harvey’s box Harvey’s box fucking sucks and I hate it and who the fuck knows music notes let alone how to actually PLAY dominos like have you ever met someone who actually knows how to play dominos? Because you need to know how to complete a puzzle in Harvey’s box. Thank god for walkthroughs. Fuck ANYWAY
Anything cool you’ve ever seen me do? I took the idea from one of these games, I don’t have original thoughts just really good inspiration.
#tw drugs#idk just being safe. anyway#maybe I’m selling myself short here but honestly I don’t care#people need to know about these games#the entire cube escape series is free minus the second half of paradox#so is samara room#if you aren’t sure about buying the other games for thier… two to four dollar price tags#just play the free ones first. that’s wha I did!#if you want to play them in order you can just download cube escape collection#which is all the cube escape games in one app#they have them numbered by oldest ro newest which also the story order#then you can play paradise hotel and roots#honestly those three I’m not sure what order they’re supposed to be in as long as you play roots before the rest#which.. I’m not fully sure but I think it’s best played samsara room -> the past within (which you need a freind for)#-> the underground blossom#yeah… sure#honestly you can throw the cube escape games before or after depending on if you want a sequel experience#or a prequel experience#but those are free so playing them first is just to see if you’ll like the paid ones#anyhow#both fear and hunger games combined are twenty bucks on steam and Fran bow is fifteen#idk how much pathologic is#if you don’t wanna spend money several people have played these games online for you to watch and that’s actually what I did#only the rusty lake games I’ve played personally because that series is genuinely too obscure to have playthroughs#which is what I’d say if fucking RANBOO hadn’t randomly played them that one time? at least one or two of them I think..#idk!! love them for it though omg#okay that’s all for now
