Hardest picture I've had to take, like I was using my nose to press buttons whilst balancing a sketchbook to bounce light stuff of nightmares ☹️Done this set of peonies and have learnt a lot, how I like to paint them, the texture, angles and what I want to include in the composition. These were quick pieces so I'm happy with the quality of them as they feel like things I could refer back to, even if they aren't entirely what I want in a picture but it's a set of visuals for something better. I'm going to rest my hand for the day, really strained my fingers especially with trying to take a picture. . So yesterday I was working on a small project of putting all my paintings from last week in to a book sort of project. I don't make books, it's so rare that I forget what I'm suppose to do each time, so given this opportunity that these are original paintings I can not f*** this up. Well the paintings themselves are fine but the book making wasn't which is the frustrating part, I had an image in my head and my 3rd wave book binding amateur self decided to complicate the process. . All in all I learnt a lot from this process and have one more chance to redeem myself in this, just need to plan some more before the adventure begins again. Day 2 of the 7 day contribution. As simple as this picture is, it had some small details added to it. I love detail and I get lost in loose paintings and florals, but I came across my series of sunlit pictures, from sunrises to sunsets over so many locations. The whole point of this piece is the candyfloss sky, it was a nice little break away from cerulean blue for a change. As for the paper I think I might be coming to the end of my tether with it, arches I love you but I can't be patient with it anymore. . Not going to lie sleeping late does pay off, I don't think I have ever been this productive with painting before! (Sure it's going to catch up with me though) . I got my lights yesterday and I bought two to help filter the shadow, and I love them so much already. I filmed the process of this painting using the lights last night but I haven't looked at the footage just yet. The combination of all that and drawing seascapes again has really knocked the fear of painting landscapes again, and I may have discovered my style in how I want to progress with painting more land/seascapes. (Although I hope that style doesn't get ignited from sleep deprivation, because let's face it that would suck) . I did this one in my @fabriano1264 sketchbook which is a dream to do watercolour paintings in, I've used @sennelier1887 paints for the main part and @winsorandnewton gouache to add the sea foam and darker shading in the rocky shore. And all done it's still available for purchase, was a fun little project, may even get a frame for it. I know a lot of people have been painting the eucalyptus plant, it's a fairly easy plant to draw and great for beginners. You can do something detail or a two brush stroke arrangement, I've got a video of the first half of the painting up on #igtv so please have a look and tell me what you think. . My peony game is so weak but its one of those names I'll sit there repeating till someone duct tapes my mouth shut. I was impressed over the fact that I didn't fudge it up, like seriously my phone recognises that it's a flower (I don't know if that's sad or hipster-ish). I was drawing over acetate last night and I just love the effect it gives, and I'm trying to find a combination of ways to incorporate that with watercolour paintings. What do you guys think? (you can also tell me it's a terrible terrible idea), let me know I would love to hear your thoughts. . I also did another painting yesterday but it's for a video, sadly not a tutorial but just me for the first time talking to you guys about everything that's been happening. I've not done a voice over in ages so planning on what to say is a lot harder then I thought, but hopefully I'm able to stop blathering and it all comes out the way it's suppose to. . Day 1 of the 7 day contribution. I realised I called it a challenge on my first ever post about this week, and if anything it couldn't be far from the truth. This week is going to be so exciting I cant wait to see what you make, I know I don't have a billion followers but I don't know about you trying to find new artist and art work is becoming a difficult thing. I was going through my endless accumulation of research, photography, things I've taken and people I found amazingly talented. @tordiskayma has such a wonderful eye for nature and mood and this is my ode to his talent, inspiration can be a fickle thing so it's important to keep a track of what's always inspired you. .
