Twst boys x Disney princesses
In which some of the Disney princesses somehow end up in Twst in place of Yuu and are hanging out with the boys. They are all rooming in Ramshackle together. The only context you need is that it is 1am when I thought of and started typing this.
Belle is the one that gets the title of Beast Master slapped onto her. All the beast men students latch onto her. They all get along with her and want to keep her happy. Leona taking residence on her lap while she finds a nice reading spot in the botanical garden is a common sight.
Ariel, much to everyone's regret for not keeping them separated, gets along well with Floyd. They in a weird way match each other's energy. Ariel is so excited and willing to jump into anything to explore this strange new world, and Floyd loves seeing her reactions to things. He thinks it's hilarious.
Merida and Rook archery contest. They're both so good though that no one can judge their matches. It's now escalated to shooting random stuff near each other to show off. Rook will be eating an apple and Merida will shoot it out of his hand from a balcony somewhere, he can't even see her. No one wants to hang out with them.
Jasmine, like the Scarabia boys, always has a sweater with her uniform. Because compared to the desert, NRC is freezing. Shes very fond of Kalim, because he reminds her of her dad, and Scarabia looks like her home. So she's usually hanging around them. Jamil and Kalim note that the carpet really likes Jasmine and listens to her.
Vil did not initially want to be around Snow White, because she is basically a girl Neige. But one day she asks sort of shyly if she had done anything to him, and if so she was very sorry. The poor thing was so genuinely upset, that Vil felt bad and stopped avoiding her.
Cater saw Anna doing her thing where she jumps in front of portraits and matches them. They took so many pictures and it became a new trend/challenge on Magicam.
Aroura is always hanging around the Diasomnia gang. It reminds her of being with her aunt's and helps the home sickness. She watches over Silver when he passes out.
Cinderella gets along with Trein. At first she was unsure, because he is a lot like her stepmother. But upon seeing that Trein is very nice, they got along very well. Trein is fond of her and says she reminds him of his daughters.
Tiana and Ruggie are friends. They both took on jobs at Mostro Lounge and clicked. Ruggie shows her all the recipes his grandma uses, Tiana uses him as a taste tester. Granny Bucchi adores her.
Aroura and Belle are the ones that go out of their way to befriend Malleus. All the princesses are nice to him, don't get me wrong. But those two are his friends.
Snow White likes to bake with Trey. Her apple pies were a bif hit at the next tea party.
Cinderella keeps Grim in line. She will grab him by the scruff of his neck, and go, "What do you have? Drop it. Come on, I said drop it." Or if he won't listen to anyone else, they get her. "Grim, come here!" Cinderella has also befriended all the mice and rats in Ramshackle. She made them sweaters and everything.
Some of the princesses have taken on small jobs around campus. Tiana cooks and packs hot lunches to sell. Ariel will sometimes be a lounge singer for Mostro Lounge. Belle will help out the librarian.

questions and answers...
done over discord, collected here for archives!
(also, a reminder that the askbox is always open~)
“Does anyone like to collect or hoard things?”
CHIYO: I really, really like collecting headbands!! I’ve got a frankly embarrassing collection at home, from Hello Kitty styled ones to more “mature” looking ones. My grandma gave me a lot of my collection, so they’re really important to me! AMAL: I don’t really have time to collect things. Collecting postage stamps would be a nice hobby if it didn’t get so expensive with limited runs or whatever. TATSUMARU: ... Why would... why would I want to spend money on things I don’t need or want? SENTAROU: I collect interesting yarn. But you didn’t hear that from me and if you ever tell anyone I’m legally obligated to kill you. IRIS: Um... hair clips? I have a few sets depending on what I feel like doing! And I buy more every year for my birthday. It... might be a problem. ASTER: Bold of you to assume I know anything about myself, let alone what I have at home. Bold of you to assume I know where my home is, too. I hope past me collected rocks. Not gemstones or anything, just funky rocks. CLAUDE: If it exists in collectible form, I have a few. Don’t even ask me to pick a specific thing, ahaha. My room’s a mess. Wait, Kinder egg toys! Those are fun. HIRONO: I dont really collect things, but I do keep a lot of physical photographs of places I’ve been to and people I like. Photography reminds me of Megumi, so I like doing it! ALEXEI: Feathers. Call me predictable, but I prefer “dedicated” or “has a very clear idea of what I want in life”. RIRIKA: I collect anime girl PNGs. Never, ever play gacha idol games. Don’t make my mistakes. TSUKINO: I have a TON of plane tickets!! Well, most of them aren’t mine, and sometimes I just beg them off people at airports and they look at me weird. It’s so neat knowing that these little papers can take you anywhere and that they’re from so many cool places, too! BRENDAN: I hoard anything I can fit in my toolbelt and save for later. So like, odds and ends. I, uh... may have a problem with never throwing things away. TIANA: A lot of my jewelry is from lot sales conducted by my aunt. I suppose most of the reason I have so much of it is to feel closer to my family, though I make some of it myself, too. RYOUJI: I collect... what do I collect, actually? I collect dust from sitting in one place for so long. Haha. I’m kidding, I’m always on my feet, please god send help I just want to sleep. TRISTAN: I don’t see the point in keeping so much stuff. Not to sound like a cleaning show host, but collecting things is such a waste of time, space, and money. No offense. KANEMORI: I don’t usually care about things but I got one of those little, what are they called, aquabead bracelets? From a sponsor? And suddenly my house is full of cheap bracelets. Especially those thin vinyl ones, those are the best. Why has my life come to this though.
“Do they dress for looks or comfort? What’s their fashion angle?”
CHIYO: I’d say looks are... most of it? I mean, of course I want to be comfortable, but ultimately I don’t think I’m ever going to stop worrying about passing. It does help that I genuinely like skirts and dresses and stuff, although I’m still kinda insecure about showing too much skin. I like the aesthetic of Howl’s Moving Castle, so I think that’s the kind of fashion I’d like to wear - something simple and crisp. AMAL: For me, fashion is definitely comfort over appearance. I haven’t really thought about what I wear in a while. Bates says I look like a wannabe TA who’s currently sucking up to the professor and I am ACTIVELY CHOOSING to view that as a compliment. Fuck you, Bates. TATSUMARU: In all honesty, what I wear every day is only a slight modification of what I wear onstage. I haven’t even thought about what I would wear if not this. Although this cloak is nice. SENTAROU: Are you kidding? Comfort all the way, but because of my stupid job I have to look at least somewhat professional. Hence, the tuxedo jacket. This is my life hack or whatever, I just toss it on if I need to look fancy. If I had my way, I’d be wearing T-shirts and jackets all the time. I’m not interested in looking nice for other people’s enjoyment, thank you very much. IRIS: As much as I’d love to dress up, I don’t leave my house very often, so there’s really no point in wearing anything fancy. I guess off the shoulder tops would be cute? I don’t really know. Oh, but if societal standards weren’t a thing, I’d love to have a pair of those kiddie butterfly wings! ASTER: ... I mean assuming what I’m wearing right now is close to my normal clothes, I guess this is looking a lot like function over form. But given the option, I think I’d wear more patterns. Like, yeah, I like simple clothing items, but I also want to wear some kind of personality, y’know? I’d keep this jacket, for example. But I want patterns on my pants. CLAUDE: It’s a mix of both for me! Just, y’know, my idea of “comfort” doesn’t exactly match with other people’s. I try to go for an approachable but fashionable vibe! Thin, large sweater tops, scarves, I’d basically be the poster child of every men’s fashion catalogue if I could be, ahaha. HIRONO: Definitely comfort. I’m used to being overlooked, so I may as well be comfortable. Though I’m told if I dress in a suit and fold my arms, my glare is impressive enough to melt holes in steel. I guess that’s kind of cool, but I’d still rather have people to talk to, y’know. ALEXEI: Comfort. Yes, this includes the cape. The cape is comfort. I am comfortable being dramatic and unknowable to man. Fuck off if you have a problem. RIRIKA: Looks, of course. It’s a little hard for me not to be detail oriented, considering my talent and everything, and besides, dressing nicely makes me feel more confident. I like layering things and using repetitive colors or patterns to tie outfits together. Sometimes I’ll focus all of my energy into an outfit in order to kill God or something. I don’t know. TSUKINO: I don’t know what this is! I wish I could be more punkish when I’m flying with like spikes and everything but noooo apparently that’s a “safety hazard” and “a distraction to the instructor”. Well, joke’s on you, safety instructor, but my normal flight clothes have studs on them ANYWAY. I’m gonna fight the establishment in every way, bitch! BRENDAN: It’s comfort. It’s absolutely just for comfort. I’ve had this jacket since I was 12, 13...? I bought it two sizes too big and it’s so worn out now that I’ve had to sew patches into it, but I hate throwing anything away so I just keep it. So I guess my fashion sense is just... “shabby”. I don’t mind, though! I think it gives me character. TIANA: Looks are MUCH more important than comfort when it comes to clothes. A good outfit can make or break someone’s perception of you. Though I don’t like to wear full business attire every day and I can’t imagine doing so at this time, I think it’s wise to at least have a decent collared shirt at all times. As for my shorts and socks... I think I just have a look going on here. Besides, gyaru fashion is quite cute. So roll with it. RYOUJI: Uh... At this point, imma keep it real with you, my fashion sense is a game of “how androgynous can I go without my parents suspecting anything”. I’m kind of dying in this, considering the heat of wearing two layers and a binder, but I also don’t care anymore. I guess I’m okay wearing T-shirts and stuff if I don’t have anywhere to be, but I’d like to at least LOOK competent, you know? TRISTAN: I’m wearing socks and sandals as we speak. So take a guess. I look exactly like a stereotypical gamer because it’s true. KANEMORI: Weird as this is to say, I favor both. I’m never far from a spotlight, between me and my parents and everything, so I have to look at least kind of presentable at all times. Which sucks, but it’s what I grew up with, so I guess that’s just how my life is. I’m used to just wearing T-shirts and stuff. If I had to wear a tie I guess I’d just choke or something.
For Hirono: What's your favorite genre of music?
EKYOU: Uh... anything, I guess? I have what’s described as “eclectic” taste. But I promise I’ll listen to anything people show me, and I’ll do my best to like it!
Uhmm for Iris: How would your ideal romantic date be?
SUMITAMA: E-eh?? This is super cheesy, but... I like the idea of a traditional date! A fancy dinner with candles and everything. SUMITAMA: Oh, but outside of that, I’d really enjoy a date where I can do things I love with someone I love! Walking around a botanical garden, or having a library day... As long as it’s free. I need to save money for textbooks. College courses are evil, don’t do them.
for ryouji: do you keep your room as clean as you keep the kitchen?
ATSUI: HAHAHAHAHA no I wish. ATSUI: The kitchen thing isn’t so much my rules as my parents’ rules, but it’s good to follow - if your kitchen is a mess you’re going to knock something over and regret everything. This may or may not be from personal experience. ATSUI: But my room?? That’s my HOME. That’s my PRIVATE AREA. I’m going to trip over everything in it and no one can say shit. ATSUI: I should probably start picking up all the laundry though.
Alexei, what is the most beautiful bird you have ever seen and why do you think is the most beautiful?
BAZHANOV: Pigeons are underrated. They have iridescent feathers and yet we as humans still consider them nuisances. It’s a shame. BAZHANOV: I would say something real deep about the nature of humanity to ignore beauty but I’m pretty sure that people hate them because they shit everywhere. Which is fair enough, I suppose.
For Chiyo: This is going to sound really dumb, but do you like to read? If so, what sorts of things do you like to read (genre-wise)?
CHIYO: I like kids books a lot more than young adult stuff. You know how young adult novels these days are always either “gritty sci-fi suspense” or “vaguely Eurocentric fantasy” or “heartwarming realistic fiction”? Kids stories are a lot more creative. And with a lot less pointless death. CHIYO: As for what kind of stories, I think fantasy/sci-fi is nice! Especially books that lean on fairytale elements and mythology, it’s like a history lesson and story at once! CHIYO: But, uh, I don’t understand that series with the talking cats. I tried to read it a few times but I think that’s just something you have to get into as a child.
(This is going off Western genres I don’t actually know shit abt Japanese novels)
Tsukino, do you have a celebrity crush?
CHISAKI: THE LEAD SINGER OF R3BELS OBVIOUSLY.
Does Alexei just have the one mask or does he have multiple for different outfits/occasions
BAZHANOV: Just the one. It’s surprisingly hard to track down decent and inexpensive masks for dramatic occasions. I wish I had more, but it’s also not as if I have the money to procure them. BAZHANOV: ... Unrelated, how feasible is it to break into a bank?
hirono, how did you start ōendan?
EKYOU: After... well, after some family things happened, my oldest brother Rousei thought that I needed something to do. He said ōendan would be good because I’m good at cheering for people, and he said it’s what he did in high school, too. So... I guess I gave it a shot? I’m glad I can encourage people to do their best!! But it’s just not something I’m super into for the sake of myself. But I’m at HPA now, so I shouldn’t be ungrateful, it’s just.... Yeah. EKYOU: Plus, I haven’t had time to pursue photography... It’s kind of driving me up the wall.
If tsukino could do anything other than her talent hat would she do?
CHISAKI: It would be my GOD GIVEN RIGHT as an individual to join some kind of band and go break some hearts and make like ten million dollars! But I’m kinda tone deaf! ... Not like that matters for the kind of music I’m into but hey!!

I wrote this as I watched the episode:
The whole “Author” angel still sucks – it is a shit premise to base the show on – it starts from a point of undercutting the authenticity of the characters they are asking us to invest in. Season one didn’t start like that; they were people first, characters second. They were people who just happened to live lives that were then turned into “fairy tales” for a non-magical world. But going with this multi-version path you make them “characters” and “creations” of an author first and people second. And for me, well I want to invest in a believable representation of a person and relationships. Plus, just because there are “multiple versions of the same story” doesn’t mean that these multiple versions should co-exist as real – this is hard to explain... yes each version of the story is a unique expression, but each versions of the story is based on an original story that came from somewhere. Like The Grimm Brothers didn’t go out and write their version of, say Cinderella (I have no idea if they wrote a version of Cinderella, I’m just using it for illustrative purpose) at the same time as it was emerging as a German folk story… no, the Brothers Grimm collected and published folk stories and fairy tales and popularised them which then led to others doing the same thing, right through to movies and modern adaptations … what Once Upon a Time wants us to believe is that all these versions live independent lives because an author created them, which contradicts their own mythology which is that the Author records not creates – didn’t Isaac get in trouble for interfering? So I guess my ultimate issue with the premise of Season 7 is that it gives the Author too much credit and it creates a block to believing in the characters as people – and isn’t the object of television drama to get us to invest in narratives creations as real and then buy the products we see advertised in the commercial breaks?  But OUAT has decided to start this race with a handicap in place…. And Henry constantly reminding us that these people are characters doesn’t help.
So to the episode:
Yeah, I’m so not here for Regina and Henry – such a surface-level, unsatisfactory relationship. Henry’s forgetfulness of his mother’s actions is one of the great whitewashes of this show – and the propensity to sweep anything unpleasant under the rug and never mention it again is the great undoing of this text. I believe this bad narrative habit is THE reason the show was so disappointing in season’s 4, 5 & 6.
Magic Beans – So rare once upon a time, now it seems they are a staple… (and didn’t they used to make great hulking holes in the ground, not neat fire portals?) And way to marginalise Emma much from the departure … oh yeah. That’s going to be a thing now.
Henry is a Swyft driver. Oooh, it’s just like the Uber ad we have here in Australia… (I liked the photography and soundtrack for this scene.)
Hello repeato storyline!
Lucy is . . . um . . . precocious and I don’t mean that in a good way. She sound like a child, over-acting lines written by forty+ year old writers. And, jesus kid, save something for the car-ride – ALL. THAT. INFORMATION. IN. ONE. HIT. Emma was at least able to hook into the need to get Henry home and he didn’t over-whelm her with details. But the need for narrative pace here is all-too-obvious. They are trying to salvage viewers. We don’t get the luxury of slow burn. They’ve put an uncomfortable, unnatural fire beneath this story.
SEPERATION WAS NEVER THE PROBLEM little girl. The original curse needed a Saviour. The original curse needed Emma Swan to break it. The Fairy-Tale refugees lived TOGETHER in ignorance for 28 years. I hate it when shows forget their own story.
Let me guess – Hyacinth is going to be her lucky flower. The writing is anvilicious as ever.  I’m sure there will be more added to this list – the “need to write your own story” seems to be a theme we’re going to get a lot of.
HenryElla reactions: Not seeing much chemistry. But I’m willing to say it’s because I don’t want to buy what they’re selling. My choice. Henry being all upfront about the stories is annoying – like it perfectly demonstrates what I was talking about in my opening rant… it treats her like a character rather than a person… and it makes me uncomfortable. The flirting feels forced and unnatural – you can see the words from the script all too clearly. And they want us to believe that Cinders can ride a motorcycle after one verbal lesson. Impossible. And is the punch to the face supposed to put them in the class of Snowing and Captain Swan ?  It doesn’t. I love the Rock and the Compass moments for Snow and Emma (see my user name) – they were both up against it, in danger of being captured (by the blokes who would turn out to be their true loves no less) and they did what they needed to do to get the upper hand. Sorry Cinders  punching Henry to steal his bike is not in the same category. And the attempt to start this romance by borrowing from its better predecessors is  just waaaay to transparent.
Ugh. Roni.
She’s calling him “Kid” now?
Henry to Roni - “Imagine if I walked through that door and told you I was your son.”   Audience - Oh wait - you are her son!!
What clumsy heavy-handed writing; adding that to my anvilicious list.
Tiana cooks. Nice.  (and the frogs legs line was very good too).
Why would Step mother have any rights to the custody of Lucy? And we get it – this woman is your step mother – how many times did they refer to that in one scene (Four. Four times in 40 seconds)
And why is Ms Belfry so attached to Lucy anyway? How was she ever given access to Cinderella’s child at all if she’s always been this evil biatch? The Devil Wear’s Prada riff was nothing but deliberate. Obviously so.
Here’s another of what I suspect will be a reoccurring themes – “Never rely on Magic. Magic isn’t power.” And “Fear lasts forever”.
Oh here we go – A wishing well in a dirty old vacant block. Lemme guess, as the proverbial sense of “hope” returns to Hyperion Heights this vacant lot will blossom and bloom with life and forge a sense of community … and then Ms Belfry will bulldoze it…
The Ball. The lucky flower is back already. Wasn’t expecting it quite so soon. (hmmm. What’s going to grow in that vacant lot I wonder?)
Drizella’s (is that her name?) dress is fantastic.
Did we even see the dagger in the motorbike stealing scene?
Oh yeah. Cinderella/Jacinda ‘doesn’t believe in signs’ (adding to the list…)
Alice is intriguing. And clearly doesn’t want Henry interrupting “the story”
Yes – please please please make Rumple/Weaver unequivocally villainous again.  I bet they won’t but whatever. I don’t expect him to last the season.
Aaargh – “not too happy with your story? What would you change?” says Henry…  seriously? Who wrote this dialogue? It’s about as sophisticated as a piece of string...
And why isn’t Jacinda telling whatever-her-name-Belfry to fuck the fuck off. As far as I know, a grandparent, let alone a step-grandparent has no legal rights whatsoever to a grandchild so writing that she does without giving some reason for it is just infuriating. And the blurred lines between everyone freely talking about fairy-tales and authors is so messy – how would Ms Belfry know about Henry or what Lucy has been talking to him about – he is an unsuccessful author of absolutely no note. And yet everyone (and by everyone I mean Belfry) seems to know exactly who he is and why he’s there.  Maybe they do; but it comes across as narrative convenience or confusion, like the writers have forgotten who knows what.
Sorry. Why would Roni get so emotional about Belfry telling Henry off? It just screams manufactured emotion with no substance.
Stolen car? Or was it towed Henry? For parking too close to a mail box? Just pointing that out.
Hook the Cop! Who cares when others don’t . . .  I just hope they don’t woobify him too much. At all. looks like that’s what they are doing.
Ugh this is awful – “Wait. You’re Alice. Alice from Wonderland?” The use of Henry, the Author as all-knowing expert to point out what the audience already worked out is just horrible! My initial problem with the premise continues to get reinforced. Maybe this will dilute as the season progresses and such but at the moment the awful, awful writing is not helping the cause at all.
“When it’s not your story, bad things happen” – another theme? How many is that already? And again, it signposts issues with the premise. And by bad things, we’re talking curse aren’t we. So if Henry is in the wrong story and sets about the curse in motion … this is making my head hurt. It’s all so very snake-eating-itself.
Henry and his hero kink…. Was tiresome before and is just as tiresome now…
Why the fuck did Alice let him go???
oh god, would you look at that; Lucy is planting Hyacinth “seeds” - they should be bulbs. Good lord, if they wanted a shot of her scattering seeds, why not pick a flower with seeds? I guess the blue colour (and it’s connection to Cinderella) was more important than botanical correctness. Lol.
Lucy and Henry have a nice chemistry – easily the most believable of the new characters – but Lucy’s dialogue is not great – mini-adult rather than authentic kid. Henry, in season one was written well and then it seems like A&E forgot how to write good child and they haven’t got it back with Lucy. It doesn’t help that she is being asked to be the narrative conduit for all the information about the curse and current situation and is being given no luxury of time to let the story flow organically. It all feels very rushed and very forced and ungainly.
Step Mother is Regina 2.0 then.  Setting up Cinders to take the rap for murder, just like Regina did to Snow, only Stepmum is much more to the point. Public murder no lest, by her own hand.  I’ll struggle with this a lot if we’re supposed to interpret everything Belfrey does as evil when she is a clone of Regina (even a supposedly redeemed Regina). No doubt they’ll give step mama a sad backstory and make us all feel sorry for her and then they’ll all make friends and skip around the hyacinth flowers in the community garden together...
And could they hammer home the whole “stories beginning” any harder that they are. It’s like being tortured with the concept… which is so annoying because we get that this is a “new beginning” for this ridiculous show but the instance that Jacinda and Lucy have to ‘start their story’ is just dumb. The story is in progress -  they might be looking for a change but to keep repeating “the story” “the story” “the story” over and over is moronic. People don’t talk like that. A&E love their themes more than believable dialogue.
I get that they want Hook to look in the book, but how the fuck did Drizella know about it being in Lucy’s back pack – how did anyone know that she had it??
And why does Lucy have to go to Ms Belfry again? This is just silly.
Not to spoil a good scene where Hook is obviously seeing something of import on the page, but there are no other pictures in the book except the one he stops on…  and jesus Colin, try to muster a  little enthusiasm here…
Now they add a little conflict between Henry and Jacinda just to keep the pot bubbling- after all those attempted heart-eyes earlier we can’t give them too easy a path to true love now can we?
Portals are on timers now?
For real? We’re still using “Operation insert-word-here” to name the mission? It was puke worthy after season two. I thought Henry had grown up?
How does Ms Belfry have the power to promote a cop?
Hook trapped with Rumple as his policing partner…. Let’s just say I’m dubious, although it might give both these characters some scope for an interesting story. Depending on what Rumple’s game is.
So Roni doesn’t know how the legalities of sale of real-estate works (or the writer’s don’t), whatever. But the refusal to part with the bar sets up Roni to give a painfully manufactured ‘hope’ speech – inspired by Jacinda apparently – who ‘wouldn’t give in” to Ms Belfrey, even though Lucy still ended up in her grandmother’s custody and Jacinda did precious little to stop it. OUAT has had this habit for a while – making the character say things that are not backed up by the actual events. It’s just one of the reasons the writing on this show is so weak. It shows they have a lot of trouble of getting ideas and actualities to mesh and support each other.
“today I watched you walk into my bar acting like you owned the place” Oh the irony! I’m laughing my guts up here – if you read anything I wrote for the previous seasons of OUAT you will know that this is a particular beef I had with Regina, particularly in season 6 - She was always barging into places like she owned the joint – she believed she did own the town - and in SB no one questioned her actions!  And now, here in HH it’s an affront to Regina/Roni that someone does the same to her? Now this would all be great if there was a remote chance that Regina would learn a lesson from it. If Ms Belfry’s character was a mirror for Regina to see her own reflection and actually address her past and undertake an authentic redemption – BUT IT WON’T - because the writers are incapable of complex storytelling and are too scared to tackle anything unpleasant. I will never believe in Regina as the hero of the people. I will never believe Regina as a worthy leader.  The show didn’t do a remotely satisfying job in selling her “redemption” the first time around. Maybe Roni, the cursed persona is supposed to be different – maybe that IS the irony, that Roni gets affronted by things that were habitual to Regina, but I’m pretty sure (like 99%) that Roni is merely a way to write Regina as a white-washed hero and for her to assume the new position of a Snow-Emma-Granny hybrid. Nope. Still don’t like her. She feels like a fraud.  And never, ever give her dramatic voice-overs. They never work well. (And this one just goes on and on and on…) Could they be more obvious that they wanted Regina/Roni to check all the boxes, make sure she says all the catchphrases and touches on all the themes? it’s a crowning moment of anvilicious dialogue.
Regina calling Ms Belfry a bully? That’s rich. It’s like the pot calling the kettle black. And the sad part is I don’t think the writer’s even realise it!  I see what people who saw the screener meant when they said that the show now belongs to Regina – she has become the ‘voice’ of the narrative. It makes me very sad.
Sheesh, so they bust the myth of Henry’s dead family straight away? The break-neck speed of exposition is so inelegant.
Hook looking at the picture of Emma – about the most interesting 5 seconds of the entire episode.
The music, Roni’s heavy-handed voice-over, it all made me feel very uncomfortable. It was just a big hulking reminder of what is not there anymore. It all just felt so obvious that the show is trying too hard to recapture something that it has lost and I don’t think it will ever get back.

February 2020 | New Studio Space in Downtown Greenville | Kyiv, Ukraine | London, England | Greenville, South Carolina | Commercial, editorial, wedding photographer - Jack Robert Photography
January- leading into February, I was in Detroit to spend time with family and photograph three amazing couples. I had three engagement shoots within a week there! For the first photo shoot, we had a golden hour sunset shoot planned. I met up with Clint and Serene at the Detroit Athletic Club, however they ended up arriving one hour after the scheduled time (no worries) - which pushed me to take on the challenge of photographing with street light instead of natural light. There wasn’t a golden hour anyways- it was overcast. Despite the darkness and challenge of photographing with only street light- I think we got some solid shots! We wandered around, took photos and walked to the nearby Madcap coffee. Then we took an Uber to the David Whitney Building where the Aloft hotel is- which made for a gorgeous photo! To finish off the night, we had a delicious multi-course meal from Michelin Star and James Beard Award Chef Thomas Lents at the Apparatus Room in the Detroit Foundation Hotel.
The first day of February, I met another awesome couple where they are to be married: Matthaei Botanical Gardens. All I can say is WOW! What a gorgeous place to get engagement photos done- especially in the cold weather! Celeste and Forest hadn’t taken any photos together- the last time they had professional photos was eight years ago! I was honored to capture such special moments for them and to put them at ease in front of the camera. Look at the review they left me on WeddingWire:
Celeste MacQueen
5.0 STARS
Best Photographer EVER!
Let me start off by saying that we have not even gotten our actual wedding photos done yet just our engagement photos, and we are already so thrilled that we hired Jack! We have never been photo people by any stretch of the imagination, yet Jack made us feel super comfortable the entire time. He was so professional, and is incredibly prompt when replying to messages. I've heard horror stories from past brides about how long the had to wait for their photos so i was super surprised to receive our engagement photos just a few days after the shoot! Jack is truly about his couples, and i would recommend him for anything you need photographed.
By the end of the shoot, there were massive snowflakes falling outside and I was able to convince Celeste and Forest that a photo in the snow would look amazing- even in their non-winter clothes 😊 They were down, and I think we got an awesome shot!
The next day I met up yet another awesome couple, Laryssa and Marcello. They’re Italian so by default they are a good time. We decided to go with the Belle Isle Casino (not what you think!) as a backdrop, check out how beautiful it was: After some solid shots at the Belle Isle Casino, we made our way over to the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory AKA Belle Isle Conservatory and ended up taking photos in there, too! Two conservatories in two days! Turns out they are amazing places for photos- so glad we were able to do it!
When the weekend was over I made my way back to Greenville, South Carolina for a solid week of editing and photographing. Here’s some huge news: I struck a deal with Parlour Nouveau and Walter and Woods to open a studio in their space on Lauren’s St - one block of Main Street downtown Greenville- starting March 1!! I’m going to be focusing on package deals for headshots, fashion and beauty portrait sessions that include hair and makeup ALL IN ONE PLACE! I’m really excited to have this space to explore lighting techniques and make more studio photographs! I’ll also be able to focus more on product photography as well! Please message me on Instagram @jackrobertphotography or email to stop in, have a shoot or chat about the space!
In other cool news- not only I was able to photograph the wedding for Karen and Keith in December, but on February 6, I photographed the grand opening of their business on Woodruff road- Stretch Zone Greenville. The night consisted of food, fun and free stretches! They are certified to stretch you out- and it’s certainly worth it! I know you’ve probably never had a professional stretching session (unless your an athlete) but it’s a very good experience and I highly recommend you try it at least once!
From February 8-21 I was in Kyiv, Ukraine with my wife! Then February 21-23 Had me in London to photograph a world class opera singer and her family - Aivale Cole - who is a featured vocalist in the soundtrack for The Fellowship Of The Ring.
On Sunday the 23 I flew back to Greenville, SC so I could photograph Upstate Forever’s 2020 Forever Green Luncheon on Monday the 24. Upstate Forever is a nonprofit conservation organization that protects critical lands, waters, and the unique character of Upstate South Carolina.
Directly after the Upstate Forever Luncheon- I headed over to Parlour Nouveau and Walter And Woods to photograph Bourbon and Blowouts in partnership with Makers Mark Bourbon
Also on the 24, I flew to New York City with Tiana Schowe to film and photograph her giving a presentation at the United States second largest independent real estate firm- Douglas Elliman.
I was also honored to have a headshot session with Douglas Williford - the Manager of the Douglas Elliman (The Triangle Below Canal Street) TriBeCa Office in New York City.
In February 26 I flew back to Greenville just in time for Upstate Business Journals networking event- Business on Tap hosted in the Greenville One center this month.
February 28 I was hired by the awesome people at Forest Kitchen Design to photograph a lovely kitchen they custom designed!
All in all, I’m incredibly thankful for all of these opportunities I get. I won’t ever take all the travel, experiences and people that I get to meet for granted. Here’s some tips for photographers: be flexible, kind, honest and upfront with all of your clients. They will write you awesome reviews and you’ll have a great business.

In the Twisted Princesses AU, what would happen if we threw in Princess Sofia the First & Elena of Avalor into the mix?
My first thought is little Sofia being the one to latch onto Crewel, because the black and white haired mage thing makes her think of Cedric. So since she's too young to be an actual student, she's Crewels little helper and is learning magic and goes to pick ingredients in the botanical garden for him. 🥺
Also now she can advice from the princesses themselves. Though considering they're all in the same boat and some are younger versions of themselves, I don't know how helpful that's going to be. But the amulet does give her a ton of other powers so I guess that doesn't matter as much.
I admittedly don't know a lot about Elena, I only saw the first few episodes when her show came out. I do know her backstory of being in the amulet for a few decades and trying to learn how to rule her kingdom. Obviously, her and Sofia know each other, and maybe Elena feels a personal sense of responsibility to look after her over all the other girls. Also since Elenas thing is to learn leadership maybe she butts head with Tiana and Elsa over how to run the dorm and gets ahead of herself. Also maybe she befirends Belle. Because even though Belle isn't an inventor, she she still knows her way around a workshop and it reminds her of her sister. In that same vein, maybe she tries to befriend Ortho and Idia for that same reason.
Also side note if anyone asks: Yes Isabelles mom and aunt being named Elena and Sofia respectively is a reference. However, I completely forgot Elena of Avalors little sister is also named Isabel (just different spelling) and is also a tan, brown haired girl in blue...Happy accidents? lol

Any relationships between the Disney princesses and the staff we don't know about?
I've said before that Cinderella is closest to Trein. Trein sees his own daughters in her, and Cinderella sees the kind of relationship she could have had with Lady Tremaine. No one will ever truly replace her father, but Trein give her that paternal affection she has sorely missed.
Elsa is still doing her ice dress thing and Crewel notices and gives her pointers. He's fascinated by how she can make ice in all it's forms behave like fabric and make these stunning outfits. Elsa sort of becomes Crewels fashion protégé, and even teaches her how to sew regularly. Because Elsa keeps offering to fix up all the girls clothes to be more their tastes, to which everyone but Anna and maybe Ariel decline. The cold never bothered her, but it bothers everyone else.
Belle is trying hard not to judge Vargas too harshly because of her own experience with Gaston. She would rather deal with Vargas over Gaston any day, but it's a slow warm up. Though it doesn't help when mention off handedly that Belle is a lot like a girl he knows in his home town.
Tiana and Sam get along great once Tina is confident that Sam isn't Facilier. Sam is is one of if not the most reliable of the staff and Tiana can always count on him to have the best ingredients and kitchen supply in stock for her. He'll let her know when new stuff comes in before Azul, just because she's his favorite imp.
Tiana, Belle, Elsa, Jasmine, and Mulan are usually the ones to deal with Crowley. Because they are the most firm with putting their foot down and calling him out. They are least likely to be strong armed into something, and if Crowley tries to get one of the other girls to do something, they're go to answer is "Go to one of them." They know not to give him an inch.
Mulan and Merida are Vargas's new star athletes. He unashamedly encouraged them to dress as guys for Spelldrive games so they can compete once he saw how easily Mulan can do it.
The classic princess trio, aka Cinderella, Snow White, and Aroura, are Treins new star pupils in animal linguistics. Theyre always a delight in class and speak flawlessly. Especially Aroura, who says her aunt Fauna taught her.
That being said, Jasmine is Lucius favorite. He knows shes a cat person, and is always hopping into her lap when he sees her.
Trein: I take it you're a cat lover as well, Miss Jasmine?
Jasmine: Yes, i have a wonderful pet back home called Rajah.
Merida:....??? You mean the 400 pound tiger?
Jasmine: He's still a cat.
Due to Aroura growing up in the woods, and Flora, like her name suggest, knowing about plants, Aroura does very well in Crewels class, at least in the written portions. He's always praising her for it, and everyone wants to go with her to the botanical garden to help them memorize what is what.
Ariel and Rapunzel are always fascinated by all the stuff in Sams shop and are always curious about the magic artifacts and tools he has. Sam always indulges their curiosity, he's always amused by how excited they are. He knows when they tag along with Tiana to do the shopping, it's not going to be a dull visit.
Crowleys favorite is Snow White. When he pops by Ramshackle for his bullshit, Snow is the only one that's offering him tea or something. "Why can't you all be as sweet and Snow?" It's only because she's too nice to tell him to fuck off and she tries very hard to see the good in everyone. Someone else usually has to put their foot down and tell Crowley to leave because they have things to do.

Any of the main cast having a crush on the Disney princesses?
Off the top of my head, I can see Floyd taking a liking to Ariel. She's fun to hang out with and is very pretty, how can he not? Wherever Ariel goes, Floyd is not far behind, and he'll squeeze anyone that bothers her.
This one is very much my Leona bias and Belle bias talking. But Leona liking Belle, maybe? They hang out all the time. Belle will call you out out your bullshit, and him liking that is one of my favorite Leona headcanon. Leona finds it calming when Belle is reading with him in the botanical garden, like the sound of her turning pages or tapping the cover is soothing, maybe he'll even ask her to read to him? Leona knows she loves someone else. He's not dumb enough to think her friendship is coming onto him. But...there's still a part of him that likes to think of the what if.
Rook doesn't have a crush on Snow White, so much as he admires her. He has a similar adoration for her as he does for Vil and Neige. It's not romantic, but could skew that way depending on whats going on. Rook is fully aware that he is fickle, so even if he does have a crush on Snow, it changes, it comes and goes with him and is seldom ever a serious thing. He's happy to at least make her feel special though and serenade her or carry her books to class, regardless of how he feels at that time.
I can see Azul or Ruggie liking to Tiana. Sort of in the same vein as Floyd liking Ariel. She's a pretty girl that they get along really well with, a little crush can be developed here. I think they would both have a lot of respect and admiration for her ambition and drive. Maybe Azul tries to get her to work with Mostro Lounge, since she wants to open a restaurants, maybe use this as a stepping stones towards that. Some with Leona, they both know she has someone she is secure with. But they still like her. Ruggie I think is more likely to back off than Azul though.
