I went on a tour of Istanbul that took us to an overlook from which the Bosporus looked like a river - and not a very big one!

The Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul, Turkey, is an internationally significant waterway, marking a continental boundary between Asia and Europe. It is spanned by three suspension bridges, two of which — Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (top) and Bosphorus Bridge — are seen here. It is the world’s narrowest strait used for international navigation, just 2,300 feet (700 m) wide at its thinnest point.
