This was the start of me attempting to redesign Lucifer (of Borrowed Time).

This... Isn't really canon but it's not too far off from what IS canon to the point where I could see this being him before the whole. Blood Flood. Thing.

I knew it was watching me, and, though its eye darted around the stone shore, never meeting mine, every part of me was observed, studied, understood – surveyed. Its single golden eye peering out from beneath rigid skin. It was a crudely carved demon of stone - imprecise, and replaceable.

Reposting to add context

This is Lucifer - to spare you the details (the story is a bit too lengthy for replies like this) - he's the creator of life as we know it (at least in the universe of fantasmagoria). He made life in Fantasia (dream land basically. except it's much more complicated than that), said life made it out to the real worlds, eventually human came out of it. The god machine told lucifer to spread sorrow among humanity so that they'd turn to building the machine for comfort. He did that. They hated him for it. Fast forward some time, and lucifer goes on a bit of a killing spree (will spare you the details on why). Afterwards he establishes the idea of "the cycle" or "the greatest show on earth" - the idea that death isn't the end of life but instead the start of new life (the greatest show is like a carnival thing (which is why he's a clown)). The skull he wears is the skull of "adam" - a pseudonym he gave to the first human he killed (though adam might not have even been a man). He wears red to symbolise the blood he spilt that night and the flowers growing around him are obviously cuz he made life in the first place
