meet allegra de bastian. she was born in the 1600s in italy to a merchant father and a mother from an upper class family. she was content in her life. she aided with her younger siblings, she took care of the house with her mother. all was fine until her father arranged her marriage with the son of a neighbor. it was supposed to be an extraordinary arrangement, but allegra saw underneath his smile and charm. he made her skin crawl with his cockiness and inability for kindness.

her rejection didn’t sit well with him, and what allegra didn’t know was that he was a vampire. he had been turned while off at school, and three years later everyone just thought he grew up. no one knew he was a vampire, of course, not anyone of consequence, but he bit her the day they were meant to be married, and suddenly her life changed.

she fled italy. she spent time in prague and in turkey and she never stayed anywhere too long. the dark cobble stone streets of the old world fit her well. 

she did travel, though. everywhere. she did her best to avoid people, rather people who would want to know her or people who would ask questions. it was lonely and sad, but no words ever fit allegra quite as well as those.

it was in texas that allegra’s world changed. she had tried so hard to avoid others, to avoid getting close and suffering loss. but she fell in love with the flutter of a heart, with a girl who changed her entire world. after nearly two hundred years, allegra allowed herself the soft and gentle touch of someone who cared.

but she ruined it. allegra had promised ada forever and then she got scared. she didn’t want to disappoint the other girl. she didn’t want to not live up to expectation. and so she fled. the girl on the bed was changing into a vampire, and allegra broke not one heart but two that night.

since then, she’s remained alone. it’s what was easier for her. it hurt ( oh, how she hurt ) and she missed ada -- but she made her choices. she chose this life.

verse ideas

canon compliant: allegra is a vampire !! not completely vegetarian, not completely carnivore but somewhere staunchly in between. it mainly relies on convenience. anyways, she’s a nomad. she travels alone. she’s sad and doesn’t have time for people.

modern human au: she’d be a cute human ugh. i just picture her in coffee shops a lot.

college au: anyways if allegra isn’t the most alpha phi character i have ever met -- anyways. human college allegra ?? very sweet, very charming. cares more about helping others than herself. probably is a nursing major. that or early education. i could see either working.

jamie was born to a man who cared more about keeping his legacy intact than about caring for his child. now, jamie never needed anything, but he yearned for affection and approval. he could get head nods from his father, vaguely accepting in nature, if he did things right, if he listened, but really it was never fulfilling. jamie wanted more. he wanted to make his own choices and be validated for those. he wanted to be himself, not a carbon copy of his father.

but he didn’t know how. he followed the rules. he stayed in line. he listened and learned and he became his father. of course, that is, he did until he went to college. there, there weren’t eyes watching his every move. he could make choices for himself. he went a little wild, he went a little off the rails.

his dad had to pay off the college to allow jamie to stay. but after that, jamie didn’t want to major in business. he switched his major to undeclared and he ended up staying for longer than he was meant to, but he was happy. jamie ended up majoring in theater tech. he studied lighting and cameras and it wasn’t anything practical but he loved it.

his father was not happy. but jamie was, and that’s what counted. he moved to l.a. after he finished school and he started working on sets. he had no need to work, his father was mad but not mad enough to cut off his only son and bring that shame onto the family, but he liked keeping busy. he liked keeping himself active.

he moved to forks to work on his own film projects, ones centered around the pacific northwest.

jamie is ... fun. i love him. he loves jeopardy. he survives on thai take-out. he loves tinkering with technology. he has a penchant for bad puns. he has a watch with a crack on its face that he refuses to replace. 

jamie is also staunchly human but is also the sort who would notice vampires and their weird quirks and habits. anyways how cool would that be ?

nosy jamie is nosy verse: jamie somehow ends up befriending a bunch of vampires. jamie notices that said vampires have weird quirks. jamie ... finds out about the vampires. jamie is smart, give him that.

la tua cantante: give me a vampire who wants nothing more to make a snack out of jamie because i would fucking die.

vampire jamie: jamie would probably be changed in the late 80s? like... 1980s... relatively new vampires. god he’d probably love it. i hate him for it. but it would be pretty great.

bree tanner never knew her mother. she was there one day, tucking her into bed with a kiss on her forehead, and then gone the next. she was left with her father, a man who was unkind and never wanted children. she grew up trying to avoid him, trying to stay out of his way. he was the sort of man to tell her what a waste of space she was, to tell her she wasn’t needed.

and so she spent so much time out of her house. it was easier like that. she grew up with countless part time jobs and all her clothes were brought from thrift stores. she learned how to provide for herself, even though she wasn’t the best of it. really, it was fine, though,, she just had to turn eighteen.

once she reached that birthday, she was gone. she didn’t know where she was going, she just knew that she wouldn’t stay in vegas and anywhere else had to be better. she got a bus ticket to seattle and it seemed like this was going to be the start she needed. she didn’t have much, but really how much did she need? she’d figure it out, she always did.

but she didn’t have the chance to. it took one offer that was really too much to come without strings. the next thing bree knew she was on fire. she was bitten and changed into a vampire. she was allowed to be thirsty and kill without care, so long as she listened to riley. her only duty was her knowledge that she’d have to kill bella swan.

when it came to it, when they got to forks, washington, that’s where her life ended.

canon-divergent re: eclipse: bree doesn’t die at the hands of the volturi. the cullens are allowed to watch over her. she’s young and scared and now there are rules. she pushes against the rules but really she wants to be loved and to feel safe. isn’t that all anyone can want?

canon-divergent re: eclipse: bree runs away from riley and victoria and the lot of them. she leaves seattle. she’s a bit of a rabid newborn vampire and very much a loose cannon. she wants to feel normal again ( or as normal as she could be ) and she’s not in a state where she can take care of herself.

college au: a verse where she got to go to school to better herself. she’s nervous and new but at least it’s a fresh start. that’s all she’s ever wanted. she has a future ( for the first time ) and she has friends ( maybe -- slowly but surely ). it’s just good and bree can be soft and that’s all i could want for her.

      「  dacre montgomery.  cismale.  he/him.  」 —  is that EMMETT CULLEN i just saw in forks? i swear i heard WORK SONG by HOZIER blasting from their headphones, but i could be mistaken. they’re pretty RESILIENT from what i know, but i’ve heard a rumour that they can be FACETIOUS too. they kinda remind me of THE THUNDEROUS ROAR OF AN ENRAGED GRIZZLY BEAR, ENTHUSIASTIC CHEERING DURING A SPORTS GAME, BOYISH CHARM AMPLIFIED BY A ROGUISH SMIRK.

“ ’bout time somebody scored around here ! ” introducing : emmett mccarty cullen. 104. vampire. bonafide bear hunter. ludicrous strongman.

ok so uhhh emmett was born in 1915, the youngest of several brothers but also had one younger sister, and he grew up in a small town in tennesse. when he was old enough, em worked as a hunter and a woodsman with his brothers, and also got into his overly fair share of trouble. his parents considered him to be wild bc he liked to drink, gamble, and flirt with all the ladies, but he was just enjoying life; an impulsive, carefree spirit.

his impulsive, carefree spirit got him into a little trouble, though, resulting in his tragic near-death experience. out hunting on his own one day, as he did quite regularly to bring home the bacon ((so to speak)), emmett came face to face with a black bear and her cubs. the hunter turned into the hunted. obviously, there was no way he could defuse the situation and mama bear attacked, savagely mauling him. it would have resulted in his death, had rosalie not miraculously stumbled upon the scene.

an angel. his angel. his family hadn’t been strictly religious, but it was in their household, and emmett truly believes rosalie was a guardian of some sort, sent from above to give him a second chance. he claims to have fallen in love with her at first sight, she was like a dream during his daze from blood loss and on the verge of death. if she hadn’t carried him over a hundred miles and if carlisle hadn’t turned emmett, he would have undoubtedly been in the ground, and for that, he basically worshipped the two, comparing them to an angel and god.

although his transformation was painful and it was explained to him that he could never return to the life he knew, emmett wasn’t upset over being turned into a vampire. of course, he still cared deeply for his human family, and arranged to deliver a large sum of money to their doorstep in hopes of easing their pain over losing him. it wasn’t difficult for him to accept his new family, the cullens, but after tasting human blood, it did initially prove to be difficult for him to adjust to the vegetarian lifestyle the cullens strictly followed. they had to move around quite a bit because of his slip-ups, but he was able to control himself overtime fortunately.

reasonably so, he has this wildly passionate hate towards bears bc of what the one black bear did to him. thus one of his favourite hobbies is hunting them, and wrestling them around before the kill like a cat plays with a mouse. hc: he keeps a small notebook with pages and pages of tallies representing how many times he’s fought a bear and just one lonely mark on the very first page for the bear that almost killed him sdafhgk

oK wow enough abt what everyone already knows.  for verses, i’m obviously 120% down to write classic og twilight (( especially bc i just binged the movies again on netflix lmao )), but i’m also super interested in:  harry potter bc who doesn’t love harry potter (( emmett’s a gryffindor don’t @ me )).  i’d also love to do some sort of old western verse ? mostly bc of red dead redemption and my love for arthur & sadie & john but also bc the idea of emmett as an outlaw / cowpoke has me dead.  possibly dare i say .... an apocalypse verse ; i love zombies / infected freaks and i’ll always love them ft. Angsty Drama.  i would LOVE to write some kind of slasher film verse ? like inspired by scream or friday the 13th (( or until dawn for u video game players )) idk i think that’d be pretty fun & fresh. and that’s all i can come up with right now bc i’m Tired™, but i’m definitely open to other verses that y’all might want to write !!
