getting into a new fandom is always miserable. will i lock myself away into the freak category and never have any friends in the media or will i so violently repress myself into someone im not just to talk about the tame stuff i think about with the media

#borderlands is an exception because it was suchhhhh a divided fandom you kinda take what you get tbere #i never once had any freak mutuals in any fandom besides borderlands and like. iasip. but iasip is solely freaks #idk. it feels so isolating to want to participate in fandom but knowing that anything you say will be ignored #because you dare to humanize bad characters. or take closer looks at them. or dont vehemently say 'i hate what this characters does so much'#on every goddamn post.#not to mention the people from the 'other side' thatd see you saying something they agree with #and they try to convert you to their side
