Borderlands: Skies the Ultimate Treasure Hunter
Skies and her crew fight Captain Scarlett's crew and find Captain Red-eye's treasure hoard.
--
The Treasure of Captain Red-eye Part 4
Skies, Moze, Zane, Amara, FL4K, Sasha, Pickle, Valentine, and Frette stay rigidly still as they stare at the guns of dozens of pirates and the aimed cannons of their ship. In front of her crew stands Captain Scarlett with a friendly smile.
“Wh-whoa, whoa there,” Valentine says quickly, raising his hands. “N-no need for such violence. From one pirate to another, we can handle this peacefully.
“Oh, don’t call yourself a pirate, sweetie,” Scarlett scolds, “it makes the rest of us look bad.”
“I-I’m just saying,” he continues, “there’s no need for you to kill us. I mean, if the legends are true, Red-eye should’ve left behind a ton of treasure. You can let us take some and there’ll still be plenty for you and your crew.”
“But why would we let you live and take some treasure, when we can just easily kill you and take it all?” Scarlett asks.
Valentine deflates with defeat and Skies steps forward. “Give it up, Valentine. There’s no bargaining with her.”
“I’ve heard of you, Captain Scarlett,” she says, “you and your Sand Pirates originated on Pandora before graduating to space pirates. Congrats.”
“Oh, thank you,” Scarlett beams, “it was not easy.”
“That being said,” Skies continues, “you think we’re just gonna so easily surrender?”
“I suppose you wouldn’t,” she replies, “Skies the Ultimate Treasure Hunter.”
Scarlett raises her hook hand and her crew begins to fire. Moze immediately summons her Iron Bear and blocks the shots as her friends dive out of the way of the hole.
Zane throws down his Barrier in front of Iron Bear to block the rest of the shots. As Moze fires back into the pirates with her mini-guns, Zane sends out his Zoomer drone. It flies out of the hole and systematically assassinates pirate after pirate, but as it flies near Scarlett, she swings her hook hand and slices it in half.
Skies peeks around the wall and glares at the main ship, her cybernetic eye zooming in on it. She can see crewmen prepping the front cannons.
“We gotta take out that ship,” she snaps.
“I got it,” Sasha declares as she loads her launcher. “Soldier girl! On my mark, get out of the way!”
“Got it!” Moze replies.

New Game Dev Practice: Add Bears
So while working on my tabletop rpg, I've decided to stop dragging my feet and work a bit on the bestiary. Nothing too crazy, just some of the animals that players may encounter out in the wild, such as wolves, deer, and of course bears. Adding bears doesn't seem out of the ordinary, but I wanted to make them pretty gnarly, just like how they are in real life.
Bears essentially min-maxed strength, so I emphasized that. A lot. They broke the game.
They were pretty much brick walls that hit hard and could cheat death effortlessly. Because of this, they actually brought to light some issues in some of the game's systems, specifically the Borderlands-style death system which I also gave to the bears (since they're real tenacious in real life).
So ultimately, if you're making a game system, you should add bears to it and make them down right horrifying. It could help stress test certain aspects and expose some issues that need ironing out.

[Fic] Iron Bound [8/25]
Rating: G Characters/Pairings: Fenris/Hawke, Sebastian Word Count: 4.3k this chapter, ~96k total Summary: Fenris, captain of Starkhaven’s White Guard and the dearest friend of that country’s prince, has arrived in the kingdom of Kirkwall with a retinue of noble-born guards and a carriage brimming with lavish gifts. How else to win over the hearts of a suspicious mountain people who would rather break teeth on stone than accept the prince of Starkhaven stealing away their heir princess?
But stone is all they have in their kitchens lately, and gravel in their quarries and ice in their bitter rivers, and Starkhaven sits abreast the richest lea and moorland south of the Minanter.
And Sebastian Vael, the young prince of that country, needs a wife.
They passed out of the woods at last into the rolling yellow plains of Ostwick. Their travels had taken longer than expected; they had lost a day to an unmarked cliff in the woods that took some time to traverse, three more to a river which had flooded and washed out a crucial bridge. Eight weeks had passed since the attack on the carriage, over nine since they had left Kirkwall with Hawke dressed in gold and white, with Fenris’s sword still bloodless. Now she wore stained, torn leggings and boots with failing soles; he slept with his sword in his hand and his daggers beneath his arm.
Ostwick’s borderlands were desolate, covered in untamed, prickly yellow grass and overrun with wild elk, lumbering bighorn sheep, and sharp-eyed foxes. Wolves came with them, and once a great brown bear that very nearly trapped them both atop a boulder before Fenris managed to slash its arm and persuade it they were too much trouble to eat. During the day they walked, avoiding roads and towns, camping against sloped embankments where they could and by streams and rivers when they could not.
At night, when the late summer heat had waned, Fenris taught Hawke spear-work. She was good with staves already—the preferred weapon of her father—and had the strength to move the blade quickly and precisely. She was not afraid to kill, and one night under Fenris’s guidance she brought down a brace of hare that they ate together. She demanded praise for her hunting and he gave it willingly; the next day she nearly broke the spear on a tree-root and was forced to concede room yet to learn.

A rain of bullets cascaded down onto the hot tarmac below. An array of blood curdling screams filled the air and then.. silence.
Just as quickly as the chaos had started, it had ended with the push of a button. The rules of the game had been fairly simple. Push the button on the other side of the arena before the timer ran out, all while avoiding the spray of bullets from the torrent guns lining the walls around them, along with the landmines hidden underneath the leaves on the ground. Typical Spades game that has resulted in the numerous deaths of the less psychically adapted players.
In fact, upon gathering his bearings and risking a quick glance around.. Chishiya had quickly arrived at the conclusion that he was the only player who had somehow survived this particular game. Ironic, considering Spade games were his least favourite.
With his hand still pressed firmly against the large red button, Chishiya allowed his breathing to calm. Was the game really over? It seemed so, but just in case.. his hand dared not to slip away from its position in fear that it was the only thing stopping those bullets from raining down around him again. He had done enough running for one day— and quite frankly, he wasn’t in the mood to further fatigue himself.
It was suspicious though.. why hadn’t that all too familiar robotic voice announced that the game had been cleared like it always did whenever the games came to a close? There had to be more to it.
Narrowed eyes searched the game arena for any sort of clue as to what came next, though the only sight he was met with were the fresh corpses of the fallen players. A dozen bodies lined the ground and still, Chishiya felt nothing. No sympathy. No guilt. No remorse. Nothing. But then again, why should he? Those people meant nothing to him. The only person who mattered was himself.
Selfish or not, he simply didn’t have it in him to care. Chishiya had stopped caring for humanity long ago, even before finding himself stuck in Borderland.
The blond had stopped seeing the other players as people as soon as he’d passed the first game. They were nothing more than pawns for him to discard of when they were of no use to him anymore. Simple stepping stones for him to use in order to get closer to the possibility of going home. Chishiya didn’t care how many people he had to sacrifice to get him home.
That much was evident given how he’d just used the other players as shields to get to the button.
His features remained schooled into a neutral expression with a hint of deep concentration slightly furrowing his brows. Hmph. Maybe he had screwed up this time. Maybe he needed another player to help him out given that he couldn’t move from the button.
A sudden thud to his left was what eventually brought him out of his thoughts, and Chishiya immediately turned his head to glance over his shoulder at the source. A person. He could see them from his peripheral vision.
Where the hell had they been hiding? That didn’t matter. A leisurely smirk tugged at the corner of his lips and he spoke up to finally break the silence.
“I knew I couldn’t be the only survivor.” Chishiya hummed, remaining in his current position in hopes that the chaos would cease to start up again. “Mind giving me a hand? Clearly the game isn’t over yet and if I take my hand off this thing..” The blond gestured with his eyes to the button, before flickering his gaze back over to the stranger. “Well, I think we both know what’s going to happen..”

More vault hunters pokemon teams, this time with the Borderlands 3 VH's
Tumblr media
Fl4k
Their team was pretty easy, just think of which pokemon would fit with Fl4k's pet's
Mr. Chew was kinda tricky, but I settled on Lycanroc (Dusk form specifically since it's my favorite form)
Went with Ariados for Broodless since I remember one post with Fl4k as a pokemon trainer which also had Broodless be an Ariados
And Thwackey as Meat Theft since I thought it was fitting
The Zubat, Woobat and Noibat are supposed to be Fl4k's rak's that they keep in their coat, it was originally going to be three Zubat's, but the website I used wouldn't let me do duplicates
Tumblr media
Moze
Ursaluna, Bewear, Pangoro and Cubchoo are obvious. She's part of the Ursa Corp, her mecha is called Iron Bear.
Obstagoon is an odd choice, but I thought a pokemon like this would be fitting for Moze
Same thing for Golurk
Tumblr media
Amara
Amara is called the Tiger of Patali and has a whole tiger motif. Incineroar is the only tiger pokemon in the entire series
Pyroar is a lion, but still it's a big cat so I'm adding it
Sneasler is again, an odd choice, but it's one of the few pokemon whose color palette fits with Amara's
Machamp has multiple arms, Amara can summon multiple arms
Conkeldurr and Blaziken are because I ran out of ideas
Tumblr media
Zane
Zane's Dragapult is based on the same Dragapult I caught in Pokemon Violet, who's also named Zane
Manectric has the same colors as Zane (blue and yellow) so I thought it would fit
Persian and Liepard was because of the cat boy Zane fan art I've kept seeing
Since Kecleon can learn substitute and double team, I thought it would go with Zane's digi-clone skill
With the fact that Zane's trans, I just had to give him the trans colored Sylveon

Given the recent arguing over the acceptability of eating and drinking offerings that have been given to Deities or spirits, I thought I’d weigh in with a Heathen’s lore-based perspective.
We actually have various surviving pieces of lore that talk about how people utilized or interacted with offerings, or at least imply how they did.
Heimskringla provides the sources for many of our modern ideas about blot, in particular Hákonar Saga Goða. In this saga we not only see details about the animals that are slaughtered, but how pieces of those sacrifices were dealt with. It’s specifically mentioned that the blood was sprinkled on the altars, the walls of the hof, and also on the people present. The flesh of the sacrificed animals was boiled up and served as a feast for those attending the sacrifice. Other words for sacrifice seem to bear out this evidence, as the words used as the same as a verb for boiling (Gothic sauðs, Old Norse sjóða, Old English séoðan). There’s also the fact that Heathen sacrifices and Christian Communion were both described by the Old English term húsel (with a corresponding Gothic hunsl), but it’s uncertain whether this means they were seen to be extremely similar acts or not. (Eyrbyggja Saga 4 is another text that describes hlaut and sacrifice and feasts.)
Hákonar Saga Goða also describes goblets dedicated to particular Gods. In one place it says they are “emptied”, while in another portion we can specifically see people saying words over the goblet, blessing it in the name of particular Gods, and then drinking from it.
Hyndluljóð 10 mentions reddening stones (a horg) with blood as an offering, similar to how hlaut is mentioned as being sprinkled onto altars and the hof walls. Obviously, this offered blood is poured out and not consumed. If other liquid offerings are being purposefully substituted for blood (like mead), this would suggest one should pour such offerings onto altars, the ground, etc.
Tacitus is extremely vague about the details of sacrifices and offerings in Germania. The best one can find is that “…[the Germans] appease [their Gods] by offerings of animals, in accordance with ordinary civilized custom.” Human sacrifices are also mentioned. It’s also worth mentioning that the root of the word “sacrifice” comes from the Latin sacrifico, which is a combination of sacer and ficio - or, “to make holy”. This doesn’t necessarily imply loss or destruction of an object like the term “sacrifice” often is used for in colloquial modern English, but it certainly could, as with the “ritually destroyed” objects that have been found in bodies of water. I have no expertise on the boundaries and norms for sacrifices among Romans, so if you’re curious about the etymology and Roman ideas about sacrifice, I would suggest asking someone who specializes in Roman practices. (Prehistoric Denmark by Jørgen Jensen, Elisabeth Munksgaard, and Thorkild Ramskou is an interesting source for reading more about offerings found in lakes and bogs.)
Adam of Bremen also mentions sacrificial practices a bit vaguely, including that blood was offered to “appease” the Gods, but doesn’t give details about consumption or disposal. (The only free text copy of this I can find is in Latin.)
Aside from the examples of sacrifices being eaten (as per the abovementioned Hákonar Saga Goða), we have archaeological finds of animals that were killed and not eaten, often as burial goods or sacrificed into bogs or water (“Borderland-stalkers and Stalking Horses: horse sacrifice as liminal activity in the Early Iron Age” by Anne Monikander)
Ibn Fadlan records an instance of a Rus man leaving food offerings after giving a portion away as charity, and interpreting the dogs who come to eat the food left out as the Deity accepting the offering.
Some scholars (such as Hans-Peter Hasenfratz and Gabriel Turville-Petre) hold with the theory that blot may have functioned like a form of communion, where the Deity in question partaking in the essence of their offered sacrifice then imbues the sacrifice with some of their power or luck, which is then absorbed by the human participants when they consume the sacrifice or are spattered with hlaut. Others (such as Rudolf Simek) as skeptical and have voiced the opinion that, where such ideas are suggested in texts, this may be an example of Christian authors not understanding the practices and applying their own theology and liturgy onto Heathen practices.
In Floamanna Saga, there’s a tricky situation with Thorgils Örrabeinsstjûpr Thórðarson, who was a devotee of Thor but later became a Christian. Thor appears to him in a dream and threatened Thorgils with a bad voyage and, sure enough, bad weather comes on the voyage. Many of those on the voyage with Thorgils want to sacrifice to Thor, but Thorgils forbids it and actually decides to throw an ox he’d dedicated to Thor years ago over the side of the boat. One of the women becomes very angry and begs that they might have the ox for food, and exclaims “No wonder things go ill, when Thor is so much insulted”, but Thorgils refuses and tosses the ox off the boat to drown. There’s a sense that the affront is not just that Thor’s dedicated animal is killed, but that the animal is wasted. (For further examples, I recommend “Custom and Belief in the Icelandic Sagas” by L. Winifred Faraday if you have access to JSTOR.)
Offerings to vaettir quite often involve leaving out food and drink (or pouring drink out), and I can’t recall instances of humans later consuming offerings left out like this. Sometimes eating pieces might even construe theft, like how certain vaettir get angry if butter is not included in their traditional offering. Kveldulf Gundarsson mentions in his Elves, Wights, and Trolls that worship [of vaettir] at trees and stones sometimes involved bringing food and drink to that vaettr’s place and then eating it in the name of the dweller there. (p. 19) Milk and butter were also left in rock hollows for various vaettir. Offerings are not always consumeables, however. Stones are sometimes used as offerings, as per the practice in Skåne of dropping stones into bodies of water. (Nordens Gudeverden by Axel Olrik and Hans Ellekilde)
Hilda Ellis Davidson suggests in her Gods and Myths of Northern Europe that the tradition of the Christmas or Yule ham is a survival of a tradition of sacrificing a pig or boar to Freyr (and eating the sacrificed animal afterwards).
The short summary, after all this long-windedness, is that we’ve got evidence for both consuming and not-consuming offerings within the Heathen tradition. It seems to be a touchier subject to consume offering for particular vaettir, at least according to folklore, than it is to consume food and drink offerings dedicated to the Gods. Doubtless there was also some variance in praxis from region to region. Given the evidence, both consumption and non-consumption are, in general, acceptable. Heathens should ponder their personal theology and their living situations and make decisions accordingly.
From my perspective, intention is key. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with consuming offerings if your financial situation is dire and it would be foolish not to. It seems more insulting to me if, say, chicken and lamb are being sold at an equal price that you can afford, and you know the Deity you’re offering to prefers lamb, but you pick chicken because you like it better and know you’re going to eat it. That feels like being a bad host, to me, so when I buy consumable offerings, I will buy what I know the Deity or spirit prefers, rather than my own favorites to share.
As one more thing to ponder, there’s also Hávamál 145 (sometimes listed as 144 or 146):
“Better no prayer than too big an offering,
By thy getting measure thy gift;
Better is none than too big a sacrifice.”
On Heathenry and Consuming Offerings
Given the recent arguing over the acceptability of eating and drinking offerings that have been given to Deities or spirits, I thought I’d weigh in with a Heathen’s lore-based perspective.

So my friend and I have been playing through Borderlands 3 with randomized characters that have to use one type of weapon manufacturer (which was also randomized). I wrote his character’s backstory here and thought might as well write mine, too. Under the cut is the story of how my Moze got recruited by Torgue to use only Torgue weapons. Enjoy!
“Damnit!” She shouted, her voice echoing through the sandy mountains and sparkling night sky as a roar of skags answered her somewhere off in the far distance. “Why did Vladof do this!?” She continued to yell, her voice hoarse from her yells and screams at nothing, at no one. Her eyes were droopy from lack of sleep, but still, she continued to yell, scream, the anger building up every single day until she let it all out at night. Her face scrunched up, eyes glistening wet as she fought the tears off, her mouth was jarred in a snarl and her fists bawled tightly as she began to pace around the fire she built out in the Pandora desert—the only source of light and heat for miles. She stopped her pacing in front of her large, torn-up mech, “Were we really that worthless to them!? My team!? My friends!? You!? ME!?” She reached out and punched the side of her mech, the metal stinging her hand, but what stung more was that she hit her last surviving friend in the world. She placed her palm where she had hit him, rubbing gently, face softening, “I’m sorry Iron Bear… I let my anger get the best of me again.” She sighed before a tiny smile crossed her lips, the first one to appear in a long time. “You’re always there for me, through the bad and the good. I couldn’t ask for a better friend. My only friend, now.” She climbed on top of him, sitting on the hood, looking out at the desert, “Hey, the sun’s about to rise. I haven’t really watched it rise in a while, I’m usually too busy…” She trailed off, deciding it best not to revisit her thoughts. She let herself down gently, lying on her stomach, facing towards the rocky mountains, the sun peeking between them, spraying gold across the sands. “It’s beautiful.” She whispered, and, finally, a single tear made it through her defenses, slipping down her cheek and falling onto her mech. She wiped the wet trail it left away quickly with her arm, “I mean, you know if you can ignore the hollering and roars and screaming—”
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE BY YOURSELF!”
She jumped, veering her head in the direction of the voice, “Well, can’t ignore that screaming can we, Iron bear?” She muttered under her breath, narrowing her eyes to try to see who it was in the coming dawn. A tall, muscular man stood before her, his shirt nowhere in sight. Even while on her mech, he still was almost taller than both her and Iron Bear in rest mode. Finally, it clicked in her brain, “Torgue?” It was difficult not to know who the man behind the explosive weapons was; out of every manufacturer, he was the most distinct. “What are you doing out here?”
“I ASKED YOU FIRST!” He shouted back, but it wasn’t mean, angry shouting, it was just how he spoke. Always loud. Always shouting. Always explosive.
She grimaced, not wanting to relive what she had gone through a few days ago. “I’m just… traveling.” Her eyes shifted away from his sunglasses as she spoke.
“YOU WORK FOR VLADOF!?” Torgue responded, pointing at her black helmet which showcased the Vladof signature on it.
She groaned in response, the scenes flashing before her eyes as she sat up on her mech, legs crossed and eyes closed tightly as she tried to forget again. Forget. Forget. No. She couldn’t. The scenes were already there, already flashing behind her closed eyes. “Vladof… Vladof sucks!” She finally shouted, opening her eyes and, in a rigid movement, she threw her helmet out into the desert, exposing her short hair which was frizzy and sweaty from the helmet.
“WELL, I KNOW THAT!” Torgue laughed loudly, “BUT WHY WOULD A VLADOF SOLDIER—”
She cut him off, something that was difficult to do, but her voice was louder, frantic, and he quieted down to allow her to speak. “My team, my coworkers, my freaking friends, they… they… they sent us on a mission here, but it was a trick! They didn’t tell us we were just a distraction so they could carry the real mission out behind-the-scenes! They sent us to our deaths without our CONSENT!”
“WOW, YEAH CONSENT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO GET!”
“I know!” She threw her arms up into the air, looking up at the now pink sky, “They killed my friends! They tried to kill me and Iron Bear! They thought we weren’t worth keeping alive! And now? I… I don’t know now! I don’t have anyone besides Iron Bear left in my life! Everyone at Vladof is traitors! They… I…” She gritted her teeth, voice cracking, “I’m lost. My life. They killed everything important to me. Hell, they even wanted to take my life away from me. But they failed. And now I’m here, still alive, still kicking, and damnit if I’m not going to raise hell for them.”
“F*** YES! GET ANGRY!”
“But I just…” She fell back onto her mech, sighing deeply, “I don’t know how to start! I’m wandering this desolate planet without a clue how to begin my acts of revenge! I don’t know what to do, where to start, I have nothing… well, besides you, Iron Bear.” She patted her mech affectionately.
Torgue paused for a moment, scratching the red bandana that covered his head before snapping his fingers together, drawing her attention, “I’M OUT HERE LOOKING FOR RECRUITS! HOW ABOUT YOU JOIN THE TORGUES!?”
“The Torgues? Yeah… don’t call them that.” She sneered back at him before sliding off Iron Bear, standing before him, his height even more shocking compared to her short stature, “But, well, can’t say I’m not a little intrigued… what do you wanna recruit me to be? A soldier, like in Vladof?”
“NO, EVEN BETTER! I WANT SOMEONE TO TRAVEL AROUND USING ONLY TORGUE WEAPONS TO PROMOTE THE BRAND!”
She tilted her head, “That’s it? That’s… not very interesting, to be honest. I’ll pass.” She turned away from him, getting ready to enter Iron Bear and leave to try and find her purpose.
“WAIT! THE PERSON GETS FREE TORGUE WEAPONS—”
“Still not interested…”
“AND THEY HAVE TO DO SOMETHING THAT PUTS THEM DOWN IN THE HISTORY BOOKS!”
“Like what? Help people? Boring. There are only two people I care about in this world now: me and Iron Bear.”
“NO! NOT HELPING PEOPLE! VAULT HUNTING!!! I, IN FACT, KNOW A PAST VAULT HUNTER WHO IS RECRUITING VAULT HUNTERS RIGHT NOW TO FIGHT SOME STREAMERS WHO WILL DEFINITELY BE RECORDING YOU! HERE’S THE PLAN: I RECRUIT YOU, THEN SHE RECRUITS YOU, YOU USE TORGUE WEAPONS IN HER MISSIONS, QUESTION MARKS, THEN PROFIT!”
She finally turned back around to him, “Vault hunting?” She asked, picking at her teeth while speaking, trying to look uninterested, even though she was quite interested now.
“YES! THE BEST JOB ON THIS PLANET! AND, YOU GET TO SHOW VLADOF WHAT THEY’RE MISSING AS YOU RAID VAULTS AND GET FAME, Y’KNOW, BEFORE YOU KILL ALL OF VLADOF!”
She smirked at that, imagining her name everywhere, pictures showcasing her with a Torgue weapon in hand, radio shows, promotional B.S., and then her blasting every traitor at Vladof’s head open, explosive style. “Cool! I’m in!” She gave him a thumbs up.
“WELL, COME ON! LILITH IS WAITING!” As she entered her mech to begin the journey to this so-called Firehawk, Torgue asked her, “WHAT IS YOUR NAME, ANYWAYS!”
“Morgue.” She answered back.
“MORGUE! WHAT KIND OF NAME IS THAT!”
She shrugged in her mech, “What kinda name is ‘Torgue’?”
“HM… TOUCHE.”

Borderlands: Skies the Ultimate Treasure Hunter
Skies and the Vault Hunters learn about the asteroid and meet an old friend.
--
The Treasure of Captain Red-eye Part 2
The sound of gunshots and explosions is deafening, only rivalled by all the yelling and cries. Bullets fly in every direction, attempting to hit someone, anyone.
Gravity on the asteroid is low, only strong enough to keep people anchored to its surface, but if anyone jumps too high, they can easily exit the gravitational pull. Unfortunately for those poor fools, it’s happening quite regularly, their cries for help ignored by those below them.
Moze’s Iron Bear charges through the mess, smacking away anyone who gets in their way. Riding on his back is Skies and Zane as they fire their rifles into the crowd. Amara and FL4K and Mr. Chew cover the rear, making sure anyone who tries to follow them doesn’t get too close.
“Iron Bear is running low on gas!” Moze warns.
“There’s gotta be somewhere we can hide out,” Skies muses and looks around, her robot eye zooming in on the surroundings. Not too far away through the crowd of chaos, she’s see a building. “There! Follow me!”
Skies leaps off Iron Bear and floats for a couple feet before landing on some random bandit. She drives her fist blade through his skull and leaps off him as he collapses. Moze and the others follow close behind, knocking away anyone else who gets too close.
The crowd thins somewhat as they approach the building- a large round structure. A small crew is at the door, attempting to open it.
“Got it!” one cheers as the hydraulic doors slide open.
“Hey, thanks,” Skies chimes as she and the Vault Hunters land behind them.
The poor adventurers aren’t ready for them and get nailed with bullets. Skies and the others let themselves into the building, sealing the door behind them.
“It’s got oxygen,” Moze observes as she exits her Iron Bear.
“This must’ve been the camp of those Dahl researchers,” Skies muses.
The inside is clean. Space suits hang on the wall next to the door. On one side of the room is a table holding small samples of the asteroid. On the other is a desk with a computer. At the far end of the room is a deep pit. Skies and the Vault Hunters approach it and see it ends at a metal floor with a hatch.
“A mining tunnel?” FL4K questions.
“We could use it to get deeper into the asteroid,” Skies suggests, “maybe that’s where the treasure is. See if you can get it open. I’m gonna check out the computer.”

Sorry this dumb question, did Vladof made the "Iron Bear" mech?
No dumb questions here! And yep! When Moze was a soldier in the Vladof Army she was part of the “Ursa Corp” which were essentially Iron-Bear-Mech specialists. When she went AWOL after her squad was killed on an apparent suicide mission she took Iron Bear with her!
