   oh- there's a current problem. pale diamond settles on the cyborg, accusing him of being all but distrustful. he thinks that, actually, he's not being particulary angry- his tone seems light, as if he was just stating a fact.

   which he is.

   lips move to part, exactly at the same moment as Kaeya tilts his head in confusion and surprise, trying to understand how to reply to that- 

   but is this perception of him really something to fight? it's not a wrong one. of course he's dodgy- that's all he knows how to be, in true Fictionologist faction. certaint topics must be avoided, have people led away from. gently, by the arm, distracting them with useless chatter.

   he considers it altruistic- but, as a normal person, Boothill seems to distrust him. which is not only fair, but also something normal. Kaeya caused this mistrust- he must fix it, then.

   he isn't met with an excessively aggressive response, but after a small moment the Enigma quietly lowers his head in a display of contritedness, defeat, gloved finger picking at the leather of another. still, he avoids the cowboy's gaze. but that's to be expected of someone that has been outright judged as shady.

   ' I don't mean to be like this with the intention of doing something weird, or to be harmful... ' he starts, carefully choosing the words. it seems to fatigue him. ' I guess I could... put this aside, and say less riddles. for you. '

   yes- yes, it seems like a good compromise: Boothill could be an exception. there's something bashful in how Kaeya looks back at him, unused to try and gain trust after being discovered.

   ' I could tell you the truth- and then, you can decide if you believe me or not. would... this be okay? '
