give me a number between 1-100 and a pairing, i'll write a drabble* based on that song

Lando had heard, when two people fall in love, it went like this: one fell first, the other fell harder. He’d always been the one to fall first, so when Oscar had stood beside him as his teammate for the first time, both decked out in their papaya race suits, he assumed that they were destined to be friends. He always fell first, so this should be no different. If he wasn’t falling, then there was nowhere to fall.

He’d missed the fond looks Oscar gave him, the way that his eyes lit up like he was the reason the sun rose in the mornings, and the reason that the stars shone at night. He missed the way that he licked his lips as his eyes roamed over his body. He missed the fact that, no matter how terribly unfunny he was, Oscar was always laughing around him.

It wasn’t until the car was something they could work with, until they were both consistently scoring points - good points - that he noticed.

Suzuka. On the podium. When Oscar was approaching him with champagne spraying from the bottle and drenching him head to toe. 

Something awakened deep within Lando, and to say that he fell hard would be an understatement. It was as if someone had thrown him off the top of a mountain in Norway, far above the Arctic circle, and he’d tumbled and tumbled and tumbled until he lay on his back at the bottom of a valley and stared back up at the northern lights themselves. The champagne was ice cold, but his body felt impossibly warm. His cheeks turned pink as he laughed and sprayed Oscar back. 

He’d been totally and utterly defeated, and had no choice but to lay his weapons down. Oscar had conquered him and he hadn’t even realised it. Now all he could do was wait to see just how far he’d go.

for @boonmeams viewing pleasure, some stats of Esteban Ocon

some basic analysis: estie did NOT have a good rookie season, the poor guy. That year accounts for all 8/10 P20 starts, and 2/2 P20 finishes for him. It wasn't even a full year ouch

But! He's also incredibly consistent as a driver. His DNFs peaked in 2018 with 6 (~38%), and have only been reducing since - showing his improving skills and consistency!

By ignoring his rookie half season, we can see he has an impressive mean position of 8.5 (in the points!) and quali position of p10 (still pretty impressive). The Standard deviation of both these are quite low, which is very impressive, and shows how consistent he is.

You can see by his placement map and graph, that his results are concentrated in the P6-13 area!

Overall, a very impressive driver, and his 3 podiums and 1 win really show that given the right car and timing, he can use his skills to capitalise!

WELL my current main is boonmeams. which is just moonbeams but stupider and i chose that one because i literally did not know what else to pick and choosing the alternatives (the same thing in . a different language) felt kind of cringe so boonmeams stuck. and then vroombeams just FIT when i made this side blog?? love a consistent vibe/brand

Quicksand by Thomas Chaplin a nostalgia hit from my childhood. has the vibe of looking up at a raining sky and wishing desperately for more than you have, perfect for singing in the shower

Dead Bird by McCafferty on a theme of desperation, a recent dig up of an old favourite. has the vibe of bitterly reminiscing on the good and bad of the past with your bedroom ceiling laying on your unmade bed. stiches in your lungs that hurt when you breath too deeply.

Apocolypse by Cigarettes After Sex a random find of a spotify generated recommendation, and i am forever grateful. has the vibe of putting your phone down 1am and taking a deep breath before you turn over to sleep and realising you're close to tears. a gentle and wistful little song.

Gold by Spandau Ballet i found this song from buying a playlist cd in a charity shop, and then suddenly heard the song everywhere after listening to it. has the vibe of just falling short of what you wanted and lamenting half heartedly to a friend about it.

this has made me realise i like sadish songs a little too much haha. i am turning this into a tag game bc i found this fun and enjoy seeing why people like the songs they do.

currently listening to: Bring Back V10s - it's a podcast abt the 'classic era' of f1. i'm listening to the ep on barrichellos first win at Germany 2000! it's a recent podcast discovery and it's very interesting i would recommend!

currently watching: No Rolls Barred's video on Snakes and Ladders but worse. i was watching it last night and had to pause bc i was laughing so hard i thought i was going to be ill. their home rules series is amazing and i recommend them if you like watching ppl suffer (their game of communist monopoly is a fantastic as well)

currently reading: various fanfictions. also attempting to read the second volume of mdzs (and failing) (i will finish it someday)

current obsession: apart from f1 and my spreadsheets, im also kind of obsessed w the kpop group ZB1 (they're debuting on the 10th of july and i am HYPED). also scum villains saving system (same author as mdzs), which i highly recommend if ur into kind of meta media (anti-fan gets transmigrated into bad porn fantasy novel and drastically changes the plot. his narration is hilarious)

I say soda :D my first language isn't english, but it has a lot of words "borrowed" from the english language. soda is one of them, although looking at which parts of america say soda and which say pop I don't really know actually. I had a lot of american influence growing up with the internet and video games etc. but I never even heard of pop being used as a term for soda lol

with milk! I think it's called a cappuccino?
