I feel like that's a bit of an oversimplification. I think it's like Takeru in Shinkenger. He likes fighting (and racing) and gets a thrill out of it, but that's not the main reason he does it, but instead because doing so is the right thing to do.

okay this is totally just me but something that bothers me the most about taiya's lack of emotion about p much everything other than his own interests is that i can't remember him showing much concern for his teammates

like when mira and jou got thrown from their car in episode 8 even ishiro was concerned, while taiya was just like "raah gotta beat this guy idc who gets hurt" and like we see them worry about taiya all the time but never the other way around esp w ishiro

still never getting over the writers for not making him apologize in episode 9 and instead somehow turning it to make it mira and jou's fault (almost ig??) for not being bakuage enough or whatever he would say lmao

ps og anon here and carranger has been on my watchlist since boonboomger started but i ended up going w go onger bc of the crossover ep but some day we'll get there

Like "hey Taiya may have not been upfront with the boonboomgers true purpose and he showed lil to no concern over your physical well-being but he's likeeeee totally a goodie nice boy actually bc he cares abt making Boondario happy"

I do think we the audience are meant to buy that as legitimate justification for his lack of concern which is just. lol lmao rolf even
