#booksbabejuly & #read_yalitjuly Day 28: #fandomfriday I got tagged by @captain.valour to share my #FavoriteSuperheroes! Share your faves in the comments! 1. Young Justice - This animated series really got me into superheroes, even more than the Marvel MCU. I highly recommend it. My fave characters were Kid Flash (my intro to the Flash Family), Miss Martian (loved that she was girly and sweet, but just as strong a superhero as everyone else), Captain Marvel (Billy Batson --I hate calling him Shazam), Robin (protect my happy upbeat precious thing), okay honestly I wanna list everyone, LOL. 2. The Flash (Barry Allen and Wally West) - I can't choose a fave. YJ got me into the Flash Family and I love the more "lighter" tone the comics generally have (there's only so much Batman and Gotham I can handle). The CW show didn't help either, since I always become a fan of the adorkable types. ๐ธ 3. Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) - I've loved red-haired heroines ever since Nancy Drew and add the fact that Babs' original career was a librarian ... how could I not like this resourceful hero? (Plus I've always 'shipped her and Nightwing). ๐ 4. Ladybug (Marinette Dupain-Cheng) & Cat Noir (Adrien Agreste) - I wish the writing was more at Young Justice level, but this series is aimed at elementary/tween-agers, so ... just gotta roll with it. However, the whole plot is adorable (teen superheroes protecting Paris don't know they're each other's crush IRL) and I'm a shipper at heart ... But this French animation has tons of teen/adult fans outside of their target age. Also, huge plus for creating a Chinese-Caucasian original superhero. Diversity can be done folks --and you don't have to reboot/rebrand established superheroes to do it. ๐ 5. Nightwing/Robin (Dick Grayson) - He and Batgirl are my lights in the heaviness of Gotham. I love the Bat-Fam type of bonding stuff too. He helps keep Bruce sane and they need each other. Honorary mention: Larry-Boy, Captain America, & Spider-Man 'cause they were my first faves. ๐
