I desperately wish little colorful sticky flag notes worked on video games. I wish I could slap those suckers over every cutscene or interactive object with narrative importance. I wish there was literally any way at all to annotate a copy of a game that wasn’t doing a full replay and (gasps in horror) taking extremely detailed notes backed up by recordings to cite your sources so your imaginary AP English teacher doesn’t doc points for not having proper citation in your imaginary analysis of essay.

#I think about this a lot #books littered in those little flags give me a dopamine rush that I don’t know what to do with #part of me thinks that the nature of games being an experience that resists being notated is what makes it special but still #like I can’t exactly cite what part of undertale has people deciding to play by the worlds rules and take it seriously #just as an example #you can take dialogue and point out mechanics all you want but it’s harder to cite those one of a kind aha moments that make games great
